Why? You will never find any killer outside Nurse and Spirit used. That isn't a draw.

If there was ever an Esports, the following must happen:
- Survivors aren't allowed perks nor items (exception: Items from chests)
- Survivors can pick a killer to ban.
- Killers can use perks and add-ons.
- Whatever team has the most escapes is the winner.
- If the escapes are draws, the winning team will be the one with the highest amount of BP.

No.

This game is NOT built as a competitive game. Esports would create a casual/comp divide in the community so deep Omegablink Nurse would take 100 blinks to escape the rift.

In the current mess of a game, riddled with bugs, glitches and RNG, there's never ever going to be an esport of Dead by Daylight.

I laughed so hard at that picture

there would have to be set rules by the devs but it could be done 100%

and mostly every game is competitive

This game will never be esports ready

Sorry OP, but you’re delusional.
It’s a party game.
There are too many variables. It is asymmetrical.
This game is like if in CS CT could use M4A1’s while the T side could use only knives.
Calling DBD competitive is a joke. Play a real competitive game like CS, LoL, DOTA, OW.

DbD.
Esport.

friday the 13th is a party game not this
1 -
It’s the same concept, but in Friday counselors can actually fight back.
You can’t even fight back in DBD.
It’s a party game. The sooner you accept that, the easier it’ll be.

u can fight back in dead by daylight

You're right rclark2102. Everyone telling you that you are wrong are actually the ones wrong. You are the only one woke enough to see the potential. Believe in yourself. Believe in competitive DbD. Despite all evidence that it would never work, you believe you beautiful SoaB

I don't think I could take DBD seriously as an E-Sports because there isn't even a good spectator experience because you're locked to player POV while spectating.
If there was aerial cams and free cams in Observer mode and overall better features for spectators maybe it could be humored but spectator mode is pretty bare bones as it is now.
That being said I do agree with most of the previous post that other things need to be taken priority before such a thing is even considered. I don't believe DBD is in a place to be taken seriously in a competitive environment as much as I hate to say that.

It would be fun. A lot of you are saying how unbalanced the game is, and it's true. But it wouldn't have to be a very serious event (symbolic prizes rather than heaps of cash). Anyone entering the tournament would know and accept that it is not "fair" in a professional way, that wouldn't make it less entertaining. Participants would still struggle to win more than just normal games.
I'd definitely support such an idea.

Commentators be like : "omg what an outstanding move from Legend27 that strikes as a total surprise with a NoeD"
"First slug... Wow infectious fright he gonna catch em u... Second slug, wow that billy is amaz.. third slug, omg we re living a true gamer experie... 4th slug.
Oh well, gg. "
"Yessss Meg is exploiting the sprint burst bug, very smart !"

For esports, dbd first would need to be balanced and the best would be, balanced with swf in mind, since swf is the "highest" teamplay in dbd.
The killer nerfs in the last months should anybody tell that bhvr don't aim for esports, since the devs nerf more and more killers, so that they are no danger for good swf teams anymore.

Pretty sure there was a tournament a few years back and it showed why this game shouldn't have an esports aspect.

With the Devs adding Twitch Tournament support with leaderboards there is, and has been competitions in this game for years. While not official, players have been doing DBD tournaments since I started playing and before, as far back as 2016-2017
Devs want this to be more competitive, but use the phrase "casual competitive" whatever that means, but the game is set up for tournmanets now with twitch challenges being added not that long ago.

Most of the tournaments around dbd have started to die off due to the mass of bugs in KYF.

If I'm allowed to make a comparison with another game, StarCraft II is a real-time strategic game that includes three races (Terran, Zerg, Protoss) that are profoundly different for mechanics, buildings and units, but I've seen official StarCraft 2 tournaments on YouTube, especially South Koreans.
I don't see why Dead by Daylight shouldn't become an Esport, after complete optimization and dedicated servers. :)
