Bringing back the fun (second objective idea)
As a lot of us know, survivor gameplay hasn’t changed much and it has grown quite stale. A second objective could bring back players and make survivor more enjoyable. Yes, I will present an idea.
My idea: Survivors have to search for a entity spider arm thing, once found survivors will see four chest around it, two chest will be empty, one will have a flashlight strong enough to disable the entity blocker, the last chest will have seven small keys in it.(you’ll need to unlock the ability to repair gens with these). You will be forced to flashlight the entity blocker upon finding the flashlight(disabling the entity blocker will let you cleanse totems) all gens will start with a lock on them you will need a key to unlock a gen. (Special items will not replace your current items)
(Balance): three areas with a entity blocker will spawn to prevent hostage situations, once one entity blocker is disabled every entity blocker will be disabled.(only the second objective entity blocker will be disabled)
Pharmacy will not affect special chest.
Only two of the entity blocker areas are available to be opened.(if you open a chest in two of these areas then the third areas chest will disappear.)
Special items will be consumed upon use.
(Epilogue)
With this change in mind, if survivors want to cleanse totems then they will need to find the special flashlight, if they wanna do gens then they have to grab a special key first.

It’s interesting. And I like the creativity put into it while keeping with mechanics already used in the game. Makes it familiar for players and easier for devs. My concern is that it’s not necessarily a “second objective” so much as adding on to the primary objective. You said you can’t do gens without the keys right? So this becomes another step in the process, albeit a more complex one. It’s not bad by any means tho, I kinda like it, I’m just thinking that calling it a secondary objective is misleading. That implies it’s either not necessary or can be performed in conjunction with the primary objective. At least that’s what I think, but you put some thought into this so you tell me :)

I like this idea you have here a lot of it is using things already in the game which would be easy for the devs.

So basically just add an extra step before gens can be repaired...? Lol so just making gens longer
Why not be like last year the nightmare requiring gas or computer discs depending on map
Or friday the 13th having cops or car repairs or boat repairs

It is just something easy that can spice things up a bit. The thing is, dbd isn’t last year or Friday the 13th. Dbd is dbd so dbd has to obey dbd rules.

Lol it's not spicing it up its just an extra step before boring gens to buff killers. And if dbd has to obey dbd rules they sure can't add this.
Maps with a diff escape obj instead of gens would cool though. Even if it's still exit gates but with some other actions to open them.

All of this is within dbd rules (entity blockers,chest,keys and flashlights). People have been asking for an extra step for awhile since survivor has become stale. This would encourage those people to play survivor and players who quit because of stale gameplay to come back.
It isn’t about buffing killers, it is about bringing players back and encouraging people to play survivor more.

super cool idea, though i would like it to be more realistic like gasoline or something like that, maybe survivors would do totems if they weren't as boring as repairing generators

I tend to agree with this. If something additional is given to survivor ONLY, I think it needs to have to do with an additional escape route or something. Balance of the game is 2 kills. Since the implementation of EGC (plus the thrashing of MoM which was after the latest stats), it is pretty likely that balance is around this mark even at high rank. It’s certainly higher than that in mid to low .It doesn’t make sense therefore to just give a big overall buff to killer. Longer games requires an addition to both sides, unless killers enjoy very long queues.
Survivors won’t care about adding things to survivor gameplay if it just means they are going to die more. This is something most people don’t seem to get, but it’s the truth.
