Legion's thoughts and changes needed from a rank 1 Legion main

Introduction.

Hello there;Im a Legion main,I can say that Im definitely good with these characters (not a god ,but decent at least) and with them I reached rank 1 .

How good is the Legion?

Despite what the majority says they are not completely trash,however they can work in specific situations ,but they need to be more...consistent.

What's wrong with The Legion?

A lot of things, Feral Frenzy has too many downsides and the majority of their add-ons are ...not good.

Changes they need (note: here are some changes that I think should be added to The Legion ,some of these are QOL changes which are not necessary for the viability of the character)

- the stun duration : its waaay too long (4 seconds) I know you are not supposed  to easily catch up to a survivor with Feral Frenzy,but 4 seconds is enough time for the survivors to go in China. I think it needs to be AT LEAST 3,2 seconds (3 seconds would be better)


QOL - the time required to refill the power gauge : its a bit too long, Let Scratched Ruler be base-kit, heck, even Etched Ruler can be base-kit without making Feral Frenzy OP.


- vault speed : bring old vault speed back,please,it is one of the main reasons why people enjoyed playing as a Legion's member. The Legion can get looped while in FF because they are so fricking slow.

QOL :slightly increase Feral Frenzy movement speed for reasons stated above.


- losing all the power gauge if you miss an attack: I remember @Peanits said that this was a bug,but it hasn't been fixed yet.


 - Feral Frenzy: let us see pools of blood and scratch marks of survivors not affected by DW while in Feral Frenzy. Let the Legion be good at tracking,his power shouldn't have big downsides.


- their addons : oh,boy. Like I said before, the rulers are good,also the addons that increase the duration of FF are the best currently. Iridescent pin is quite fun. But other addons...

Lets start with the super loved Frank's Mixtape. From being one of the most cancerous add-ons in the game to being..trash? This addon is not good for obvious reasons tbh, I suggest a rework instead of a buff because its not a good/healthy playstyle anyway:

Frank's Mixtape now allows you to use the power when the gauge is at least 25% completed and slightly increases FF duration. This was removed from Legion's base kit...because (?) hitting people with Deep Wound while in FF doesn't drain the meter anyway,at least I would find a reason to use this addon.

OR :

While in killer instinct all survivors not affected by DW suffer from the exhausted status effect. This status ends when FF ends.


- Stab Wounds study: no point in using this addon,so I suggest a rework.

Stab Wounds study now allows the killer to see the auras of survs not affected by DW while in Killer Instict (so you can not be confused of the direction the survs are taking,but you know EXACTLY where they are.)


Lets continue with the pins: they sound good in theory,but they don't work because you get stunned when you hit a surv that has the Deep Wound status effect while in FF,which shouldn't be a thing since you cannot drain the meter anymore. Increase the timer from 60 to 100 seconds ,remove the stun penality and they should be good.


Fuming Mix Tape is...ok ,I guess.


CONCLUSION


A rework was much needed.

Legion's "intended playstyle" wasn't coming into play due to how effective was to tunnel a single survivor. Of course,this wasn't fair for the survivors so they aimed for a much healthier playstyle for both sides.

The problem is that this "intended playstyle" isn't working due to the extreme changes you made to the character.

The Legion is listed as an intermediate difficult character,but even though this was true before the rework,now they require an insane amount of effort,positioning,timing,mindgaming and decision-making that they are possibly the most frustrating killers to play as for the "High skill-low/medium reward" factor.

They have so much potential,don't let this potential be wasted.

    Sadly losing all your power gauge if you miss an attack with FF is intended. Because before, you could spam it and it was abused since there was no repercussion for missing.


    Nurse's stun is 3 seconds and she's the most mobile and deadly killer in the game; no reason The Legion can't have the same CD, tbh.


    I have to agree as well; I used Legion with the intended playstyle before the balance changes and the fact is that I found it much easier to secure kills by playing in this fashion as a 110 killer than I do now as a 115 killer.

    No reason? Why? Because legion gets looped? and Nurse ignores everything? I get the exploit. But like all exploits, it shouldnt nerf the whole playerbase because minority was exploiting it, like moonwalking. It should only fix the exploit.

    Im gonna say it again. Limit of missed attack should be one or two and the limit resets everytime you hit a survivor not affected by DW. Its not even the players fault for missing sometimes. It is just unnecessary to lose your whole gauge and get a 4 sec stun for missing.


    OR you could make it so that Lunge has the miss penalty, but a quick m1 attack does not put you out or harm you in anyway. M1 doesnt give MS anyway, so it cant be exploited.

    I remember he said that it should end FF,but not deplete the power gauge.

    Yeah I always called for it to just have a penalty for missing; not for it to completely cancel your power and use it up, as they stated it would do in the patch notes - I knew that change was too much with everything else adding up.


    Yeah the TR thing fixed the exploit, I don't get why so many things happened to further weaken a power that they made non-lethal anyway. (I'm fine with the lack of lethality - it didn't change my playstyle, but it sure as hell didn't need to feel like a chore to use at all)


    And yeah pretty much; she ignores the rules of the game, whereas Legion is an M1 killer. Why should they have a larger stun duration on their power, which also isn't even lethal, when the Nurse has one that is 25% shorter??

    I also have a deep wounds change for the better. Your timer drops in TR, but it will not drop more than 3-5 secs remaining. Frank's mixtape must be changed for this to work without exploiting though, but there is a franks mixtape change in the original post and that could work. You can work on gens, but when you do your timer goes down twice as fast. Working on gens also ignores the limit and you can not stop the limit without mending. This will be a big of a difference because right now survivors can finish a gen in TR without having to mend. And when you leave Legions TR, your DW will start going down like normal without a limit.

    My idea for legion is that if you miss an attack you'll only lose 25% of you meter instead of the whole 100%. They could also put the fatigue timer to 3 sec as well. Plus they should give legion a bit more MS while in FF since they can get looped in their power which makes no sense.

    3seconds is fine but 2second basic cooldown is crazy

    I'm a killer main and from my extensive experience, legion is in dire need of a buff. His power does nothing half the game

    I do think Legion needs the buffs. I would love to make like a bloodhound Legion build.

    I might go about it slightly differently for the addons though:

    Pins (other than iridescent):

    Make it so it applies when DW is first applied, not after the second hit.

    Rulers:

    I don't know why there isn't a ruler above the yellow one, so make a green and a purple one that make it way better recharge.

    Also make scratched base kit, like you said.

    Mixtapes:

    Fuming is good in the right hands. It tells you what is being worked on where. It's like wraith's all seeing rune. However, only during frenzy is kind of weak, though...

    Make them more consistent. Julie's and Joey's both decrease exiting cooldown, while Susie's... increases KI detection? Make them all the same! Frank's needed to be changed, but now it's just useless...

    Maybe make them effect Movement speed, like they used to. Making it like the killer's are effected by certain music.

    Heck, the item names can change based on which member's cosmetics you have on. Like the purple would be Julie's if you're Julie, Joey's if you're Joey, etc...

    Stab wounds:

    Completely agree... although I think that DW needs to be a different mechanic to BT, because it does nothing these days.

    Never Sleep Pills: Like all that increase KI detection, I don't get the point. Most times, when you see one on the edge of your TR, survivors will outrun your frenzy. So having an increased KI detection doesn't help. Same with the Friendship bracelet.
