Monstrous Shrine Rework Comfirmed
During last weeks Q&A the Devs stated it’s one of the perks that they’re looking into.
Any thoughts on what they might do?

Whatever they do, hopefully they can make it so it doesn't just apply to the basement and instead apply it to all hooks. Wouldn't mind making what monstrous shrine currently does a base thing since the basement is a dangerous place and should be high risk-high reward anyway.

Sorry for being so negative, but I've always made it my mission to never touching that perk, even if it becomes something that turns the meta upside-down. Hope it gets some help though from the people who decide to use it and give possible solutions.

They better confirm Left Behind rework as well, because Left Behind is even more useless than Monstrous Shrine.

I mean yeah they’re the 2 worst perks in the game, but MS is one the original perks that hasn’t really been played at all since launch. If anything they’ll probably both get a rework during the next chapter.

"looking into it" doesn't mean anything when DbD devs say that. It just means they know it's bad.

Killers need better perks to reach 50% 4k rate. I believe monstrous shrine should help achieve 4k more rapidly.
Whenever you hook a survivor in the basement, the entity gives you a surge of power and increases your movement speed by 45% for 30 seconds. All survivors will also gain the exposed status effect for 30 seconds. If the survivor is rescued while you are not in the basement, the entity will block the basement exit for 60 seconds and reveal the aura of all survivors in the map (not just basement).

I think it's quite modest. Remember survivors still have flashlights and squats. The basement's not much of a threat like it's supposed to be

every survivor aura being revealed and two survivors being locked in the basement while you cut off their only escape? modest?

Nah, they need to make it effect all hooks instead of just basement hooks. It’s too situational and not rewarding.

Affects all hooks, higher % or bonus effect in basement. Ez design philosophy for this perk.

Dev will no do that as the first version Monstrous Shrine is applied to all hock and they decided to nerf it like current situation unless they decided to increase basic sacrifice time

I heard a suggested buff on somebody’s stream (i forget whos) that when equipping monstrous shrine, it spawns both of the basements on the map. I thought that itd be really dope for it to do that.

And then Haddonfield Music plays, or it's Shelter Woods. Not all maps have two basement spawns. Those maps would need to see an update, before they could do an effect like that.
Besides that I'm not sure, if I would like it, when Devs encourage a basement perk more. I really think whatever Monstrous Shrine should do, should be more consistent and affect all Hooks. Hard to say which effect would make sense. Maybe a general Unhook action time debuff combined with some sort of killer buff, while a survivor is hooked. But not sure, if such thing would still be played enough.

Not every map has 2 basements, if they did that would dope.

Oh, I didn't know what the original version did. Still think that making what it currently does affect the basement is a good idea. The basement is a high risk-high reward area and should be discouraging to enter.
