Why do you dislike "Goodbye"-threads?
We've all seen the post. Someone has decided to quit the game and wants to say a thing or two before they leave. Two stars and a wish, sort of. For some reason, however, these threads become littered with condescending and excluding comments. Why is that?
I mean, if you have an account on this forum, you have to be considered a dedicated player. Why on earth would we discourage whatever feedback that player has to give?
But most important of all: why can't we just be kind and let that person go out with a bang?

Because lots of those types of threads involve whining and entitlement. I've seen good goodbye threads. They don't have to be an angry rant. It's just a video game.

Because they usually sound like this: https://youtu.be/tt4DFExVsi4

Haha, love Curtis <3
But why don't we just let the threads die in peace then?

Because those that post those threads, to say it nicely, really like attention. I would say that more blunt if I could.
3 -
Because they are point less. Unless you're someone popular on the forums no one will care.
4 -
The majority tend to be trying to give the devs an ultimatum in a wierd sort of way and most state at the end if they leave the game will die as they know many people who are too.
Not all are like that. There are those who are saying goodbye to friends they made in the community and wish to keep in contact with some of them.

A lof of the time they're just another type of "i've had it with <commonly complained about topic>, i'm leaving until the devs get rid of it!!!" thread and are little more than typical cry-threads with an "ultimatum" like that thrown in.
Which is also why I don't post in them or open them at all, as I have nothing constructive to add to them in the vast majority of cases either 😄

Because nobody really cares. They're just annoying most of the time.
2 -
Because they are back posting within a week and we're suppose to pretend like that post never happened.
4 -
Because they’re annoying and serve no purpose whatsoever
like, ok you’re leaving...bye......
2 -
Because nobody gives a ######### that some random person isn't playing the game any more. Everyone takes breaks, not everyone thinks they're the center of the universe that needs attention for deciding to quit a game.
2 -
Because they think they are more important than all the others that quit this game without making a goodbye thread. No one cares about this special snowflakes quitting.
3 -
I don't care tbh. I don't attack people that make them.
0 -
Because they are unnecessary.
3 -
But going by your explanation: wouldn’t it be better to just ignore them?
0 -
I kind of care. And still, the threads seem to gain a lot of traction when they appear. Seems to me people are actually going out of their way to comment their disapproval.

I get what you mean, for sure. I’m just reacting to the tone in those threads. Like, why not let the thread die?

They always come back.
Attention-seeking that's all.

It seems a bit dramatic and unnecessary. Its a video game. You're not leaving your job or the country. You're stopping playing a video game. This is not something that requires people's attention.

because people act like big-deal babies if they don't get their way so they come to the forums to whine and give the devs an ultimatum, despite in the back of their head knowing that nobody really cares.

Basically there are crying saying I'm taking my ball and going home. But guess what everyone else has a ball too. So take your ball and go home I'm still having fun

because i dont care honestly

Poweas hasn’t came back.

How long ago was that.

I don’t remember, I think in June.

Because truthfully, nobody cares. This community is not small enough for people to be recognized in game on a daily basis. One person trying to call attention to themselves because they are leaving is pointless.
It makes about as much sense as some random person coming up to me and telling me that they aren’t going to play pool anymore. Okay, good for you... do I know you?

There's still time.

I don't really care one way or the other.
Some are kinda cringy tho tbh.
