How is exactly do you reveal ghostface?

So i took a bit of a break playing dbd and when i came back it wasnt long before i came up against a ghostface. I dropped a pallet on him so he decided to go around the corner and do a lean stalk, he then managed to expose me and down me. The problem here is that the entire time from him going to the corner to when i got exposed i was looking at him, my camera and playermodel were both looking at him deadon. Is this a hitbox problem or something?
