Dead by Daylight for new players.
Here is my opinion on the game after 231 hours of gameplay! In general I think the game is well balanced on both sides. I am killer and survivor and I have nothing to say about that. The only thing I find that can discourage new players are the perks. The way, the time and the huge amount of BP to get your perk into the bloodweb is the worst thing I think in Dead By Daylight. I'm glad he mentioned in the last dev update that he was going to change this because even me with almost all my survivors and killer level 40 sometimes I'm discouraged. Otherwise I think for the rest Behavior does a great job and Dead By Daylight is my favorite game. And you, what do you think ?

I think you're right on the Bloodweb.

I think players put too much focus on perks. Maybe the game puts too much focus on perks?
When I started playing back in 2016 I was often confused when people talked about "meta perks". It made no sense to me that a meta exists in a game that offers to much variety.
I always had the impression that to make most use of a team constellation, it makes sense to have a big variety of builds in a team; One focuses on healing and support, another one goes for efficient generator repairs, then someone that uses a build to keep the Killer busy and last one maybe someone that can quickly find traps and totems.
You know, a bit of everything so players actually have a specific job, a responsibility besides blatantly repairing generators until found. When I saw 3 Claudettes in the lobby I'd switch my character to Jake to indicate that I focus on generators. I wasn't aware that people would unlock all the perks with a specific character, I thought players would stick to the original perks and maybe replace one or two perks that they prefer and that's it. Unfortunately, that's not the case. People pick a Survivor and then try to unlock all perks as quickly as possible so the individual Survivors become meaningless - it's just a skin and nothing else... A shame, tbh.
So, I'm glad that it's quite a grind to unlock all perks, otherwise everyone would constantly run around with their lame meta perk loadout that only ruin their own fun.

Yeah I think you have a good point of view .. after all it's only a skin but for killers it's something else

Yes, definitly. Wouldn't it be cool if each Survivor had a special ability that would make them unique? Even if it's just their original perks being more effective on them (or the teachable perks being less effective on other characters), that would already give people a reason to use a specific character rather than just grinding all perks and then use the same character for the next 1000 hours.
