Why do people hate OoO so much?
Last night I was trying out my ‘wall hack’ build and as soon as the killer saw me staring at him he dced. This perk has never bothered me as killer so I’m curious, why do you (if you do) hate OoO?

The perk combined with SWF means every survivor knows your location at all times. It’s insanely OP.

It’s not like the killer knew. As a killer I tend to find most OoO users are in a SWF squad.

I’ve honestly mainly found solo players using OoO.

Because they are bad and blame a perk rather than themselves.

It is broken when playing against stealth Killers and Trapper no doubt. But if you suspect them in a lobby then switch to Bubba with PWYF and stacked charge or movement speed addons, it works wonders.

Personally I only played against two teams with an OoO user. I didn't feel much of an impact in both games since it allowed me to find the OoO user all the time causing them to die pretty quickly. It's seems like a situational perk that can either help the team a lot (against stealth killers) or cause everyone to die quickly. Way too risky in my book and certainly no reason to rage quit.

Because OoO disables every killer besides Nurse and Spirit and it's insanely powerful in SWF teams. But the only killer I saw DCing against OoO is Hag, usually people don't DC even against 4 man OoO.

Because it's overpowered in SWF, Ghostface can't use his power; Wraith, Myers and Pig can't sneak up on survivors; Trapper, Hag and Freddy basically can't use their traps without their location being shown.
And the other killers like Billy and Plague will have a hard time locating survivors. Clown, Bubba and Legion just suck in general. Doctor will get gen rushed hard.
The only ones unaffected by it are Nurse and Spirit. Who gain advantages by having an OOO in their game.

I used OoO randomly and it was a Ghostface, I felt really bad because that perk counters his power. Also, he ended up wasting 5 generators on me, and got really toxic towards me. :(
I actually tried to calm him down, but he kept threatening his Nurse on me. I don't know, I was just using the Sole Survivor and OoO combo for fun and then BOOM. :(

OoO shows is full potential in swf. But can still work out well in solo against any trap setting killer. The only time it actually hinders you is against spirit nurse and billy (on some maps), because you can't safely stay in super strong buildings with these killers, they'll easily reach you and down you.

It doesn’t disable hillbilly, leatherface, Myers, Freddy, Clown, Doctor, or Plague to an extent.
One perk is your reason? Even up against four solo players? I don’t mind though.

“I’ll pull my nurse on you” With how often this gets thrown around I wish I could find more nurse players.

i don't mind OoO, but when i play hag or pig i suffer a lot and it's rly painful, and if i ignore to chase them then it's a free aura read

How can you go and comaplain that it makes it hard to find survivors when it basically reveals a survivor's location all the time. If you can't find anyone else you may as well chase them.

Myers and Freddy get really hurt by it. I run a no TR Myers build and yeah, they usually t bag and flashlight click. They are almost always extremely good at running loops. A lot of them only run it because they know it absolutely destroys Ghostie Boi :(

It's only really strong in swf groups. But keep in mind, they make it easy to find and tunnel them down. Furthermore endgame will be in he hand of the killer, it's ridiculously difficult to escape alone at the end with OoO

I think a lot of people hate toastface, some of them use OoO because of that.

I hate playing as him. Reveal feels unfair for both sides. Sometimes they look right at me, nothing. Then other times I'm seen around a corner and through a car.

The reveal is pretty bad, I’ve gotten revealed through walls and as survivor I’ve stared right at him and nothing happened. I have revealed while afc before.

Especially during weekends OoO almost always mean 4man cheat with friends trying to bully killers.

some people also may hate OoO because they think that the survivors using it will abuse it to the max and act as toxic as possible, frustrate them, and overall waste their time and discourage their gameplay.

Just as someone who plays mostly stealth killers it is really not great to have in your match, yes, I understand it can and is used to protect your team and have valuable information, but it often does get you targeted. My most recent example is a Laurie in one of my ghostface matches, I dropped a chase with her after hitting her and letting her get far enough away to stalk a discordance gen, she followed me to break the stalk once OoO told her I had broken the chase.
I couldn’t do much of anything until I had dealt with her the entire match. So I can understand why some people feel OoO gets them tunneled and why some killers hate it regardless of who they’re playing as (if it’s not an insane map pressure killer). I was just lucky she wasn’t on coms (was pretty obvious, I do admire she was going out of her way to protect her team though) and wasn’t a god tier looper.
I’m really glad this perk isn’t popular is all I can say. But when I play other non stealth/non trap based killers it doesn’t bother me, it actually lets me know when they’re on a gen, healing or baiting a chase etc it all just depends on the competency (how good they are with the perk), if it’s a killer that needs the element of surprise, and objective of the OoO user.

You ignored the first sentence of my post, in SWF it's OP, because when the killer is going in the direction of their teammates, the obsession just warn the others, which makes it easy to hide against the killer.

Hi, I've played and won many tons of high-profile tournaments (Space Esports 3x100$ 1x50$, TydeTyme's 750$, ect. Team name is Instant Dodge, cringe amiright?) for DBD in the past, so I'd thought I'd chime in with my experience.
While I myself am heavily against DCing voluntarily, I can understand the frustration behind it when going against OoO.
Note when I say this, I talk about the highest skilled players.
OoO kills any potential a killer has of winning unless they are Spirit or Nurse (possibly billy). Knowing where a killer is and knowing what they plan on doing ahead of time is the most perfect information you can have. In SWF, this can be heavily abused. Even in solo, you see a killer coming your way you have a ton of time to check out where you want to run to and start going there. It kills Huntress, who is only 110% and her TR being 20m. Trapper has no chance. You know where every trap is, so go ahead and disarm it (In tourneys, addons are generally not in play). Hag has a terribly difficult time setting up because of a certain tech a survivor can do to pop her trap and be able to run 28-36m away before getting hit. Stealth killers I'm sure you can guess.
It's the one perk that I believe if nerfed would lessen the gap between swf and solo.
That said, you must be good at survivor to get the full potential out of it. A new survivor can't just put it on and become a god. You need to be good in chases. That aside, this is my view on OoO from a competitive perspective.

Every killer except Nurse and Spirit are damaged by OoO users. Those two killers couldn’t care less if you know their location. They’ll just blink or phase over to you and down you in seconds.
I haven’t gone against very many good OoO users. A majority I go against are baby Laurie players.

Because this perk is insanely good. I use this as solo survivor and I must say that this perk is ######### game changer. I can know what killer is doing, I can see where Trapper puts his traps so I can avoid this areas, OoO can also counter all killers stealth abilities, except for myers tier 1, but it's reasonable <3

There's a lot of things into play, if I chase only the guy with OOO then I'm gonna be gen rushed, there's also DS, which will make me waste a lot of time. There's also things like map, the perks he is using, number of safe pallets etc.

That's not any different to chasing someone else besides maybe the DS, but you can always just slug and patrol for 20 or 30 seconds.

ghostface Iran definitely a hard counter and it hurts pig pretty bad too but even with trapper and hag and Freddy they are still complete viable bc unless that person goes out of their way
to destroy the trappers traps then he can still chase people into them and hag is still gonna get set of unless someone’s wants to waste their flashlight that’s they maybe brought which Ian doubtful and with Freddy once again he can just chase you intonations his traps so in reality every killer besides ghostface is still probably able to pull off a win. And also with Myers most people know you see them burn stalk anyway so it’s not really like that’s matters fin you see him or not. But even after all of that I do indeed see how’s it can be pretty tough to beat if it’s a very coordinated team. But I also think it should not strong enough to warrant a change but I’m just one guy so maybe I’m wrong.

People say OoO destroys Ghostface but I've gotten 4ks against OoO users. It's fun slugging an OoO user in a SWF and then going after their friends while keeping them slugged, because it's basically a built in deerstalker from any distance. That said, I wouldn't mind OoO to get one nerf, and that would be to only work when the killer and survivor are both looking at each other, as it's description led me to believe this was the case originally.

I always find it funny when an OoO user shows how narrow minded they are. They'll teabag when their aura lights up from across the map, expecting me to chase. They do it all match, then when they're the last one to make it out at the end, they think they're the best of the best, even if their team died trying to do gens.

Lmao survivors dont run Object every game, so no theyre not. Plus if theyre not SWF only one the people with it would know.

If it was against a ghostface i kinds get it.. it makes his ability completely useless. But, a good killer would just play through the pain.

Most of the time I play killer (rank 5ish most of the time) the survivor with OoO tends to just throw and die as they will just stare at me and not do much else.

In my area, I seem to go against a lot of SWFs, sometimes they run OoO, and it's annoying because I can't possibly sneak up to any of them then they have one person telling them all the time where I am.
It just adds to the frustration overall.
