any survivor second objective ideas? (plus my own idea)
i know there was many threads on this before, but i kinda wanted to hear other people's ideas again, since i plan on making a mass thread for this sort of thing. i'm placing this in general discussion, since it doesn't necessarily belong in wishlist or suggestions/feedback, as this is also an open topic.
the reason why i plan on making one, is so that the devs have something to look at that would kind of make sense as to how a secondary objective would help make games last longer a bit longer, as well as efficiently preventing survivors from instantly wiping the floors within the first 3 minutes of the game, while also awarding both sides for their work, and adding a bit more balance.

killers, on one hand, technically have two (main) objectives; defend generators/prevent survivors from completing them all, and sacrificing as many survivors as they can.
survivors seemingly only to have one (main) objective, which is escaping. to reach this goal, they have to complete generators, which is what their main focus is, not necessarily just surviving. and *using dull totems* as a secondary objective isn't necessarily a good idea, since they're mostly ignored half of the time unless if ruin, haunted grounds, thrill of the hunt, lullaby, devour, or any other meta hex is in the trial.
so, a suggestion to counter the issue of focus, is to give survivors slightly more work, whether its adding parts they need to collect in other to complete generators (finding charges), *requiring them to destroy at least 3 totems out of five*, or giving them 2 hotboxes (or one, depending on circumstances) they need to repair in order to be able to power the exit gates.
this would equally apply pressure to both sides, as the killer would have to defend slightly more, but gives them enough reasonable time to pick up some speed, while survivors have another reason to be more immersed than speedy, since they have to repair, destroy, or do more in order to be able to escape, whilst earning a larger reward for their efforts (possibly new emblems or larger bloodpoint awards depending on how much a survivor does.)

this is the only few ideas i have so far. if anyone wants to add on or send their own ideas in, lmk! i'll hopefully be making a mass thread soon, but for now, this will do.

I'd like to know whether the devs see a problem with how fast survivors can get their objective done.
We can discuss 2nd objectives all we want, if the devs don't see any need for something to change, it feels pointless.

you have a fair point there, but there's a sliver of hope in them possibly seeing there being a issue so these ideas don't go to waste. it'll at least make them consider checking just in case?

@Skittlesthehusky We have quite a few threads on this topic here on the forums, yet I've never seen the devs even hinting in the direction that they consider changing something.
If we want to discuss this topic further, it probably makes more sense to have a discussion along the lines of "reasons for a 2nd objective" in general and not "this is how a 2nd objective could look like".
(Btw, a couple of months ago, I also made a suggestion how a 2nd objective could look like. If you are interested, you can check it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1
But as I said, as long as the devs don't give any indications on their plans, a general discussion makes more sense.)

wholeheartedly agreed. which is what i was kind of aiming for in this thread, making it a general discussion, though i more or less made it a pseudo point that there might need to be some sort of balance here, noted that all these new killers with different powers, mass changes to the game, etc. are coming out too, it'd be better to start considering a second objective in the long run.
(checked it out, and i genuinely like your idea! gave it a vote-up in the process.)
