When and what did brang you to the game?

Just for curiosity, because this game is not as popular as others that are bigky advertised and could manage to get a lot of players and be one of the top most watched games in twitch everyday.

In my case, I'm subscribed to a spanish youtuber called WhaTheGame, that uploaded this game two or three times and for January 2018 I noticed about Saw's DLC and for that time I was watching the whole franchise, so I wanted to play it and a friend shared his steam library to let me try it and I ended buying it with all DLCs for my birthday and here I am, still wasting money on it and still enjoying it.

    I was always interested in DBD but I didn’t start playing until in between the Pig and Clown chapters. It was mainly Myers who got me into the game because he is one of my favorite horror movie villains.

    So RabidRetrospectgames on Youtube streamed the Alpha or maybe Beta, it just had Trapper. I would watch his stream and was hooked, it looked awesome and I love games that let us play as the bad guy and this gives us that. Then they got Freddy and it came to console, bam sold.

    Free game on ps4. To this day I don't have any purple survivor perks and I played killer for 5 months without realizing i could kick generators.

    We're a huge horror family. My father did professional SFX (as does my now 19-year-old daughter) and part of my living is writing horror. My youngest kid got into it during the first year of launch because of Myers and Freddy (and later he stayed due to SAW), and begged me to buy my own copy.

    So, I did.

    Don't play much anymore, though. The grind is just asinine, and the kid finally put it down and went back to his online friends in Overwatch and Roblox.

    I really only played for the actual horror icons of Myers, Freddy, and Leatherface, but the whole hooking mechanic just wore on me for those characters. I just couldn't stay invested and maintain a suspension of disbelief. I also don't care for the Perk progression system. I dislike having to dump bloodpoints into killers I don't care about just to unlock Teachable perks for the killers I do enjoy, and then have the whole bloodweb also being RNG governed on top of all that.

    I knew about the game since 2016 but I never thought that I would enjoy it. When it came as a free PS Plus game on PS4 in August 2018 I decided to try it and I have never once looked back. This is my absolute favorite game and although I didnt spend money to buy the game, I am grateful for the devs' hard work, so I bought all the characters and auric cells and will continue to support them so that they can continue to update and improve the game.

    Day 1. Saw some youtubers playing the beta and was looking for more games my friends and I could play. I signed us up for the beta we played and loved it and bought it when the full release came out.

    Watching Bricky play this on YouTube and twitch looked like a lot of fun, so I gave it a try for twenty bucks. Wasn't disappointed.

    There's no other game out there quite like this. If I want to relax and farm some points, I can play survivor or killer and chill. If I want to win, I can actually try and be successful based on my skill verses the killer or survivors (sometimes, I'm rank 12 on both). I'm also a bit sadistic apparently. I don't trash talk exactly, but I do have commentary when I play killer (I don't stream or record).

    Steam recommended DBD because I used to play the hell out of Evolve Stage Two. I got it shortly after the Myers DLC was released.

    Played because my friend asked if there was any good games and I remembered a cool looking game Vanoss played, saw bill, hoped he was in console and I was wrong but, still played Ace and Laurie for a good time
