Have the devs learned from Mettle of Man?
With possibly nine new perks, I am concerned that at least one of them will break the game like MoM and DS did.
Are you confident that we have seen an end to perks coming out that will break the balance of the game? Would you prefer to see underpowered perks that get buffed later on?

The difference is that Ash was a Survivor-only DLC. It needed a Cash Grab, this was available with old MoM.
This DLC will bring a new Killer, this is most of the time enough to buy the DLC.
I except the Survivor Perks to be mediocre at best.
The Killer Perks will be one good Perk, one situational Perk which only works for a few Killers and one Trash Perk.
Like the last few DLCs.

I hope they go for some fun perks. Like Head On would have been if it ever worked.

I am concerned about 9 perks being useless. I don't really care having an op perk (surv or killer) as long as it changes the game a bit. I'm tired about the same perks over and over.
The last useful perk was head on and it's more about it being fun than useful.
I hope a perk like letting you instaheal a teammate when you're injured after being hooked twice for ex. rather than a perk letting you see the crows aura in a 36 meter radius for ex.

We'll see.

Hell, no. They're gonna design their perks to be really strong and then nerf or change them into oblivion. Afterall, there's gonna be less sales if the characters have weak perks.

Ash also came after their "experiments" with matchmaking and a really bad chapter caused a major drop in player count. They needed something broken fast to make the game interesting again so they dropped that load on us.

We'll see Soon™

I don't know why but I have a feeling a perk we'll be getting will be body blocking themed

Head on does work.

probably just gonna be gimmicky perks which is sad.

MoM wasnt even near broken and still it was nerfed to death. So you really complain about survs gettin usefull perks, while they still dont get anything usefull at all?
3 -
mom wasnt broken? nice joke I rate it 0/10

This better be bait. It turned online, basically for free, and provided you with an extra hit. Not to mention how well it synergised with insta heal medkits, which are already borderling problematic on their own. Should it be reworked sooner or later from its current state? Yes. But you are kidding yourself if you dont think it needed to be dumpstered.

lol i hope they learned from how useless MoM is right now it needs re work

Yes, it is useless now, but a useless perk is less damaging for the game state, than a blantantly broken one. The same logic was used back when Freddy was released.

But I'd rather have useless perks than game-breaking ones.

Imo MoM wasn’t broken, DS hurt my early game so I definitely didn’t like it.

Did you even play Wraith during MOM season at red ranks?

Yes and LF.

Hopefully they have.

I never complained about it but it did bring back old memories of being bullied as killer at end game before DS got nerfed. MoM on it's own wasn't a big deal but when everyone has it that's four more hits on top of the Adrenalines, DSs, and DHs and it takes an insane amount of extra hits to down everybody enough times to win. With body blocks end game was pretty much a wrap if multiple people were running MoM.
They should start with getting rid of the aura reveal for it though to see if more people would start using it again. I'm all for more good survivor perks but they shouldn't revolve around an easy second chance. A comparative killer perk to old MoM would be one that let's you instadown after you miss a set number of attacks. I guess like NOED but without counter play.

We'll find out. It's hard to design survivor perks that are good but don't also break the game when multiple survivors have them. They can only do so much with the current systems and status effects. They could maybe have secondary effects in the event that you have the perk but aren't the obsession. So old MoM would be tbe primary version, but not being the obsession would be current MoM. Kind of like survivor versions of Hex perks. Powerful, but risky and potentially useless.

Imagine thinking MoM was broken enough that it needed to be brought up again.
I hope the devs learn to not only listen to a handful of people who think a perk is broken only to actually make it useless.

Removing aura reading isn't going change MoM state. The way you use MoM right now is that you bring a medkit with instant heal, you take a protection when a survivor is getting carried to a hook, then you heal yourself. The next time a survivor is brought o a hook, you can now tank 3 hits, so MoM is like sabotage hook perk now. The problem with old MoM is that it had no counter-play because every killer has to hit basic attacks to down survivors, so it was inevitable instant heal for the survivor. In my opinion if they wanted to make it a perk you earn, I'd say change the condition to 2 safehook.
Strong perks are fine, what matters for perks is that they got counter-play. If they lack counter-play, they're often really problematic.

Okay so then the counter would be camping hooks?

I doubt the Ash dlc had already a good incentive for people to buy it. It's Ash from Evil Dead, first licenced cosmetics, first time we got a licenced character based on the actual actor etc.
I don't buy any "MoM was op to be a cash grab" talk. Sorry. Honestly, what I think what happened, was that the devs wanted a perk which fit to theme of "Evil has a way of always finding you." quote from Ash vs. Evil Dead and also the idea back in their mind to reuse the Endurance status effect some day. Then mixed both together and accidently created a perk, which was horrible.
And yes after Legion, I even trust that they might have been blind by their own work not to see the issue with it beforehand or listen to early community critique after the leak.

But for real can survivors just get like one good/decent perk? It doesn’t need to be stupidly broken like MOM was but just something that could make for some fun builds.

I mean, sure, people buy it for "Its Ash from Evil Dead". But if you never watched the show, this no reason. You need reasons for people to buy something of a franchise, when they are not familiar with it.
With Killers it is different, because new Killers bring variety. But Survivors dont bring Variety, except for their Perks. And if you dont like Bruce Campbell, did not watch Ash vs Evil Dead (or Evil Dead) and dont like the look of the Character, would you buy it when there are only mediocre Perks? Most likely not.
At least people who did not watch the show or do not like Bruce Campbell, will buy the DLC less than before, because it does not have anything for them.

There's no reason to try and appease people that don't like Bruce Campbell. People like that just can't be helped.

MoM was broken buddy. It was completely annoying and didn't promoted the skill play 😎
