Question about maybe an additional perkslot

What if every survivor and killer get a 5th perkslot, where only can be ONE Perk from the specific character can be equiped

Example: Jake: Normal slots (Iron Will, Balance Landing, Adrenalin & Borrowed Time) Character Slot (Calm Spirit or saboteur)

I think that this can help every survivor and we can see maybe more characters, because specific builds are more useful on specific characters. :3

I like how you don’t mention anything about killers lol. Survivors already have a heavy advantage in this game, a 5th perk would be OP for the killer and survivor both.

Limited perks are available so you have to strategize your gameplay accordingly.

Yeah, because it the idea was with one example already clear, lol.

And we are still limited with this idea. But with getting more and more perks, more perks are getting less used etc.

And no, a 5thperkslot is not doing anything more OP as it already is.

Yes, it is. And I was referring to how he said it would benefit survivors a lot, mentioning killer and talking about killer are 2 different things

This would actually be kind of interesting. It would buff certain killers and be indirectly nerfing others with the addition of additional survivor perks

For example Huntress has some of the worst perks in the game she could run Beast for extra BP or Lullaby I suppose. Though because of Lullaby's long set-up it'll go away long before you can get the max tokens for it

It would also make picking a survivor have merit aside from aesthetic value. I have a feeling there would be a ton more Megs, Davids, and Lauries because of this

If this Idea applies on killers only its a great idea to balance the game. Then it would be a 5:16 instead of a 4:16. But a 5:20 is clearly not good.

On Survivor everyone would just go Meg, Bill, Laurie or David for obvious reasons.

I love this idea. You wouldn’t be able to run any super broken builds on every character but you would still have more than four perk slots. It would also make Survivors more than just skins, but we’d be seeing a lot more Davids, Bills, Laurie, Megs, and maybe Claudettes.

I would be fine if only killers would get it at some point. At least it something that we could test on the ptb.

I see this as an improvement from the current 3-4 Claudettes every lobby

Besides, almost every character has at least one good perk on them.

Would not be good, neither for Killers nor Survivors.

For Survivors, it would create a Meta.

Some Characters would be much stronger than others. E.g. Meg, Nea, Jake, Laurie, Bill, David would be quite strong, but others like Ace, Kate or Jane would be kinda weak. And if people already have a Main, to be competitive, they would need to change it. I would not have any problem with that, I main Nea, so I would be happy about a free Balanced Landing. But it is quite boring to see Lobbies with the same Survivors all the time.

For Killers, it is the same. Some Killers might benefit from that (e.g. Clown or Leatherface, free BBQ or PGTW is great), others not so much (Wraith or Doc for example). And already strong Killers can really profit from that (Nurse-->Free Nurses, Spirit-->Free Haunted Ground (not that strong, but nice to have), Billy-->Free Enduring, Hag-->Free Ruin). Like, I use BBQ, Whispers, Enduring and PGTW on my Billy. But that would give me the chance to get either Spirit Fury or Ruin, which would make this build a lot stronger. And that is nothing that is really needed.

Tbh I can see from where this is coming from and I understand your opinion, but I would like to see this on the ptb, so everyone can see that a kinda 5thslot is actually overpoweref or not, so no one needs to ask this ever again.

In the end, tying perks to certain characters would mean people would only play a few characters from the entire roster. People would never play anything else but survivors with at least 1 meta perk (David, Meg, Laurie, etc)

It would become very rare to see someone play as, say, Quentin or Ash for example.

Survivors need to stay as skins. It's already almost too much that some are louder while injured than others.

Lol I see no difference. I bearly see any Quentin or Ash even tho they are skins. I actually think that people would play more different character than now. You are not missing anything, you're getting more. Nearly every character/killer has atleast one good perk.

Then poor Wraith REALLY needs some Perk buffs.

Predetor is good (I use it on my spirit), Shadowborn is okay, Bloodhound is kinda trash.

Claudette already has a fifth perk: DC on the first down

The only thing this prevents on the Survivor end is making it so an individual character cannot use a 5-perk build consisting of perks that are not one of their core teachables. Given that all Survivors mechanically play the same, can't you just decide on almost any perk build (basically, a perk build that is not composed entirely of non-teachable perks) that you want and then choose one of the characters that can support that build? So for the Survivor side, the one string attached to a fifth perk is fairly negligible.

Yes, you barely see any now. How much will you see of them afterwards?

It wouldn't feel like you're losing anything now but when that 5th perk slot could be 1 more meta perk, very few people will continue playing other survivors.

I'd rather see diversity in survivors rather than only see 4 Megs in a single game.

I don't with perks are balanced for 5 perk builds, some characters could have some really nasty builds that would become meta in no time.

I mean personally I feel like the bigger problem right now is that so many perks are just pretty much useless or are overshadowed by other perks. BHVR really needs to start buffing more of the weaker perks so we can have a greater variety in perks builds.
