Gen rush perk?
So Nancy is getting a gen rushing perk? Why is this a good idea in a game where gens fly by? Apparently from an interview with Matthew at Gamescon the reporter who he spoke with, spoke of this perk that has you obssesed with a gen and you get bonuses while working on it/or when its completed (she didn't specify fully) but the bonuses weren't revealed. And I can only hope they aren't significant because its going to suck for killers. But seriously why is a gen rush perk a good idea. @Peanits
Ontop of it the two perks that were revealed for the Demogoron seem underwhelming. And Steve's look interesting but alsp probably not too great.

I agree especially when it could stack with other people using that perk/ prove thyself/ toolboxes..gens are considered a major balance concern already for most killers..this seems like itll be poorly recieved

Well we don't know if that's what it does. It might give her more points, faster healing speed, could be a resurrection for all we know.
I highly doubt it makes the Gen go faster because if it did then all 4 Survivors would use it and then bam, game over.

As far as we know Nancy's perk will make her obsessed with particular generators for some yet unknown reward.
I really hope said reward won't have to do with working faster on generators.

My thoughts exactly, its frustrating after years of complaining about gen speed there has been so little done. I understand that its not fun to hold M1 as survior all the time but after years of compliants I'd hope they would have solutions.

I'd like a 'If you complete your Obsessed-with generator, get a <x>% boost to Altruistic actions for <y> seconds'.
Pop a gen, then go unhook someone & heal them quicker

But they also said they didn't know what the bonus was, it might not be speed.
An Obsession status is supposed to be a big deal, there has to be more to it than just doing 1 Gen super fast.

No, the article just says she gets bonuses for finishing her obsessed gen. Nothing in particular about gen bonus.

Okay we can eliminate BP considering prove thyself exists. And lets think about healing bonuses that doesn't make much sense to work on gens and get increased healing speed especially with botany and such. That doesn't leave many bonuses left and it makes sense it would be a gen speed bonus.

even if it is, it'll be nerfed after the killer outcry like MOM... but honestly, just chill until it comes out... it may not have anything to do with speeding the gentime.

Well the article did say Nancy's perks get the job done fast, which worries me and makes me think you're right about the Gen speed.
What if it was the Survivor equivalent of Dying Light? If you can finish this particular Gen your entire team gets a bonus? If this was the case then it would be like Prove Thyself and it wouldn't stack if someone else had the same perk. If it was Gen speed then it would be a small percentage, maybe 6%.
But we'll find out tomorrow, this perk is interesting because I do like the idea of wanting to complete a particular Gen. I just wish it was harder.
Me personally I would want this perk to make me Obsessed with 1 Gen so it gives me a bonus but working on that Gen is much slower. So completing that Gen is more difficult but the reward is huge.

Well we'll see what exactly the perk does. Let's hope it won't make gen rush worse though. Depending on what it does it could be frustrating, but maybe it will be fine.
If it's really, really bad though that makes games go way too fast, they'll probably change it. Just hopefully by giving it a different effect instead of making it useless. Like MoM.

Taps are undervalued. Quentin is the rare exception,, bill, laurie, and ash all had at one time game breaking perks

From the sounds of it, she'll be obsessed with a single generator and if she repairs the generator, she'll get a buff of some sort. I doubt it'd be more generator repair speed.
That'd just be insane if it was the case.

How is it a genrush perk? If I ran this perk I’d run over there and try to get this generator before anyone else gets it. Worst case scenario, it’s RNG based and I wouldn’t have to run so far if I’m lucky. If not, I might have to run the whole map in order to get my bonus which wastes some time.

The new killer will have a similar perk that pop goes to wisle but the difference its you hit a survivor and you get to use the perk so i dont know why ppl complain a perk that you dont know the % this will always happened someone will complain about some word that dont like

So youre probably a no native german, are you? The interview doesnt say a word about that the perks get the job done fast. it says that SHE (the character of Nancy) is purposeful and wants to get the progress go fast, which refers to the gen shes obesessed with, not the perks.

I understand the fear about the perk but I am not sure if that will be really something everyone will use. Especially we don't know any detail yet that is officially confirmed. Lets wait and drink some tea. If your guess is right and they'll implement it that way it will be tested on the PTB anyway and perhaps changes will happen. So don't over react so quick and have some trust in the devs work.

It's because gen times are already very fast and something many people don't like too much. Adding any kind of perk that piles on to the gen speed problem will not be received well. It's not just about balance. I'd argue gen rush is not too op right now, at least not once we receive the map reworks. But it can be very stressful for killer, which is not somehing people look forward to when playing a video game.

You do realize that the killer can just camp you out of that gen when you are the last survivor, right? It seems very balanced, and a risk reward sort of thing, like no mither, or Ace's perks.

There isnt even a gen obsession perk being released? Nancy's perks show others the gen she us working on, show her her own scratch Mark's, and heal her if she breaks a totem. Yall are trashing something that doesn't exist
