The Game is Not Fun without Ruin
Title. How in the world are you supposed to get a 4k at all let alone a merciless victory for killer adepts when 3 gens pop at the same time by the time you get your first 1-2 hooks? It's boring, fustrating, and just plain unfun.
Even playing survivor against killers w/o ruin is boring. Games go by way too fast and nothing happens unless you're the lucky one to get chased most of the game. If the devs don't add something to help this issue the game WILL die.

Been trying for adept nurse for 3 days in a row. Got one emblem point off multiple times... guess what category? Gatekeeper, of course.

If the trophy is that important to you, you will probably have to wait for rank reset. If you play against brown or maybe yellow ranks, you have a chance pulling this off without Ruin.

That's what I was thinking. It's weird to me because I did it with Trapper (a not-very-good-at-the-moment killer) against a 4 man SWF? It was on Haddonfield so that kind of helped but I guess I just played out of my mind lol.
Also I'd feel bad destroying rank reset players lolol

#########, man. I've given up with Leatherface. That man gets looped so much I was struggling getting more than 2-3 hooks all game!
It probably doesn't help that I've got up to rank 7 since I purchased him (up from rank 15.)

Even worse in my case because I've been trying to do adepts. Other than Nurse (and Hag, obviously) 2 gens are usually done by the time I get a couple hooks.

Honestly? The simple answer is, dont do adept achievements right now. The current ranking system is not geared towards it at all largely due to the way gatekeeper works currently.

A lot of killers it's a skill problem in your case imo. For the very few it might not be.

Well, i think ruin makes the game more boring for survivors and less challenging for killers, as well as teching bad habits to who use it (not putting pressure because a perk do it for you).

Well.. i mean, its hard and you have to put a lot of effort into putting pressure (and even more into learning how to do it) but you can. I never use it and i know plenty of others really good killer main that dont need it at all.
I know how hard is to stop using it. It is really hard, but the benefit is gonna be huge.

Nurses and Hags Adept are the only trophies i got. I let my Rank decay to 20 and do the other one's someday.
And yes, survivor gameplay needs some refreshing change.

Ruin isn't even a problem for most survivors, people have been using it since the Hag chapter got released and now great skill checks are just easy to hit. Unless there's lag obviously. I would love to see more perks like PGTW though that slow the game down. Maybe a Hex Perk that increases the amount of skill checks you get in a row after every hooked survivor maybe? That combined with Lullaby would be a killer.

Nonsense, ive had many many good games against killers without ruin. Some i die, some i survive.
Might be your own skills you need to work on instead of the over reliance of one perk. I see killers dailly getting 3-4ks without ruin.
Some killers over chase good loopers while the smart ones will back off and start putting pressure on gens, a wee slug here or their works wonders as it helps pull survivors off gens.
Alot now dont run self care, smack as many as you can and they'll waste time running around healing each other.

It can be fun without Ruin. It just depends on how good you are, how good the Survivors are, your build, and whether the Survivors are in an SWF group. I don't run Ruin on my Doctor and I still have fun at red and purple ranks.

Lullaby is great example why Hex ruin shouldn't have tokens. Before you can use it's full potential it's gone. Usually u get 2-3 tokens before getting it cleansed.
As for OP, yeah I guess? I mean, If you know what you are doing u are fine without it. Just don't be so focused on steam achievement, it's not worth of all the stress
