Fixes To Make Trapper More Viable
I'm not saying to do all of these. These are just ideas. The problem with Trapper is that he wastes time finding traps, picking up traps, moving, placing traps. And even going back for traps, picking them up, & re-placing them somewhere else. Also picking up a disarmed trap and placing it back down in the same spot.
In this era of 5 minute matches, this is really lame.
1) Trapper starts carrying every trap. His bag add-ons affect how many he can carry after he's placed them. (IE: He starts withe very trap, but can only carry 2 later)
2) Maps start with every trapped armed. THEY DO NOT REARM IF DISARMED/USED, that is a pink add-on. This would make Survivors move more cautiously at the start, since they don't know where a trap spawned, and they are all dangerous.
3) Change the Trap's model based on the map! On maps like the hospital, or the Game, his traps are basically worthless. A bright white floor with a brownish/blackish trap on it? May as well put up a sign that says 'Don't go here!'
4) Rework trap mechanic all together. Instead of making him pick up & place every trap, the Trapper could start with them. He can place traps, up to a maximum of 6 (because that is how many spawn on a map). They cannot be picked back up. Once disarmed, or once triggered & the Survivor is picked up/rescued/escapes, the trap shatters & fades away. The Trapper cannot place more than 6, and gets 1 back each time one is shattered. Basically, he has to think on where to place them, because he WILL run out if he places them in spots no one goes too.
Those are my ideas.

Personally I think it would be fine if he could just carry 2 or 3 traps at base, and if his traps spawned more in the center of the map and near gens. I do like your 3rd point though, on some maps his traps are just too easy to spot.

Traps autoactivation should be in his passive, not an addon. Or make him more like Hag ... This way? Setting up trap without addons take just TOO LONG for genrushers and we are not talking about finding all the traps on the map.
