Can survivors have uniq power and not just be skins ?

its kinda meh that survivors are just skins , it would be awesome if every one was better in sth , or like in friday 13 every survior has strong and weak points , thus making it more interesting to choose them. because every player has his own style and that how he likes to play . one likes to run , other like to hide . 3rd one like healing etc.

Like idk maybe make for a good start sth like this

Dwight repair generator 5 % faster but he breathes and his grounts in pain are louder because he is scared ?

Meg - her exhaustion recover faster / or vault faster but she repair generator little longer

David king ; after getting hit he has 3.5 second of invincible speedboost instead of 4 or sth else but minus is that he heals other slower

Claudete - heals other faster and is more stealthy but she has longer exhastion

The possibilities are huge , i made this in mind in like 5 mins and imagine if devs and community who gives idea thought about it for a longer .

It would be nice to see something refreshing in survivors and it would be even more worth to buy dlc survivors .

I really prefer them being skins. Not to mention the balance problems that would come into play.

It'd turn an already stale meta even staler, since everyone would just be playing "the best" survivors. I prefer them all being skins.

We already have meta perk, I don't want meta survivor on top of that

I'd love to see something that makes survivors unique, but it just doesn't seem to be a popular suggestion.

I made a thread about it a while ago, and you can see some more discussion about its pros and cons there: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82446/survivor-passives

There was hope that the game would have become closer to this idea around two and half years ago when the pool of perks and survivors were much smaller and the optimal strats for gameplay were set in stone. Yet, the game didn't ever evolve into that sort of nuanced route because the game play just doesn't support it. Meta survivors with meta perks would just be more work to balance. Then if survivors get unique skills with effects on the games in addition to perks then killers get put in a position where they need to start looking at base kit increases or a 5 perk slot which throws the balance right in the bin.

Yeah because the amount of crutches that survivors have arent already enough to help them on their relaxing walk in the park...

I love this idea, to have it work in the current game style would probably be impossible, as it would probably require certian perks to be locked to survivors and or removed completely. And this fan base loathes change. Id persoanlly like to see a rainbow 6 seige style, where survivours essentially take on rolls, some can loop better, repair faster, seak out totems, or even be an all around solo pro, and only one of each survivor can be ran a game. It feels sloppy to have 4 clauddets with nearly identical perks, i know this game isnt based in realism, but something could be done to avoid facing clones, which can add to a different level chaos when a 4 man swf chooses to bully. Doesn't happen often but it has happened.

Roles in survivors would change this. DIfferent stats so everyone focused on a different thing. For example Dwight repairs faster but isn't as fast as meg but meg runs faster and isn't good at repairing. That way meg's job would be to loop the killer but a good killer would kill dwight first.

Either that or making teachable perks work better when used by original survivor than by others would small nerf survivors and matches won't go as fast.

I've always said this idea. I find it incredible that some people like that the gameplay is repetitive and that survivors are just 3D models.

Would just encourage tunneling. Who would go after a Meg, when he can chase Dwight can get a double win (the fastest gen jokey isn't on gen + that exact same person has also chase disadvantages).

Its a terrible idea. If this gets impletmement I would probably drop playing survivor entirely. It's already frustating and annoying enough as solo survivor. I don't need more bs. I would only play Nurse then and eventually get bored and drop dbd aswell.

At first I really enjoyed the idea of the survivors being unique like Friday the 13th, until I realized that it basically made the game come down to like 3 or 4 camp counselors ever being played. You were either good at being chased/bringing key items to locations and terrible at repairs, or really good at repairs/stealth and terrible at chases. The rest of the strengths and weaknesses were irrelevant.

Even if I liked a certain survivor in Friday I never felt comfortable playing as them because of their stat spread.

So I'd say nah to the unique stat to set the survivors apart, as people said they will just pick the best ones for any given job. They want to be chased? They will pick Meg, they want to do gens they will pick Feng Min etc.

Instead of just meta perks, we will have meta survivors as well just like Friday. So it's probably not a good idea.

Then just make it so perks work slightly better when used by the original survivor.

I love whenever a post like this is made, most replies are straight up just "No. It'll just make meta characters"

Like seeing 3-4 Claudettes almost every lobby isn't a thing already.

I like the idea of making certain perks better on original character. Nothing mind blowing, but like Claudette would get a small snall boost healing others with botany. Like 1 second at most. Meg would get quick and quiet for 4 seconds. Adam could get a 6th stack of autodidact. A little boost but nothing to break the game.

And i would like to see 1 unique survivor per team game modes. Maybe not in base game but as a seperate mode.

They're already more than just skins: they're heights and colour palettes too, which influences the ability to mindgame and hide.

If this is gonna happen, it should of been WAYYY back when the game first came out, and perks for survivors will no longer be a thing probably.

Instead of 3-4 claudettes it'll be 3-4 "insert new meta survivor here" claudette is literaly already a "meta" survivor with how easy she can blend. You just proved why this aint a good idea. Now my mori will be saved for 4 dwights or megs or whatever becomes meta. Not to mention survivors who main someone that got a useless good stat and a pretty bad negative stat will be ######### because they got every perk for that survivor but can't play it because they will be at a disadvantage.

So many people have suggested this and I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that this would lead to seeing the same 3 survivors every game. Claudette, David and Meg.

I've thought, maybe have a fifth perk slot, which can only be filled that by that particular survivors 3 perks. And give the killer a 5th perk slot to make it fair. I'm sure it would be a nightmare of unintended consequences, but it would make each survivor different at least
