Switching From Console to PC
So I got a job today.
My plan is to buy a PC in a few months from now, but I don't know if it's worth losing all of my progression on the console version of the game.
My original plan was to wait until the devs would release cross platform progression, but I gave up on that idea because it won't come out anytime soon, and it probably won't come out at all.
I just want to move to PC, because I hate bad framerates, ######### sensitivity and the lack of other features. Is it worth losing all of my progression?
Good day.

I think Rizzo said it best. If your not too concerned with prestiging abunch of characters, getting decent loadouts on the characters you want shouldnt take TOO long. Id just reccomend, like i always do, you lvl up Bubba for BBQ first.

Congrats on the job @December_1863
I agree with Rizzo, it really is a personal choice. I do think with the new BloodWeb changes and the double BP events, leveling up your characters won't be as bad as it previously was - plus you don't need to prestige as such unless you want achievements. I'm rarely prestiging my new characters now because I buy too many cosmetics for them in the store and I'd rather wear those than the prestige cosmetics.
There's a lot of really great PC games as well - so having both systems is never a bad thing.
Good luck with the job!

Just my personal opinion, but the game is less stressful on console. It seems like a casual mode compared to PC (same rank).
But as you mentioned, the frames on console are bad and it runs so damn smooth on PC.

The mouse and keyboard controls are very quirky too. They don’t work like most other games. I bought the PC version when it was on sale for a few bucks, and pretty much only play the PTB on it. Even so, I use my PS4 controller when playing, but BHVR still hasn’t fixed the prompts, which only shows XBox buttons.

I'd love Cross platform saves....when going to the Nintendo Switch, starting over for the third time sounds painful even with the new blood web changes. I think it took over a hundred hours to get the same build on Myers on ps4, when getting it on PC. (Though it was probably closer to like 70 or 80) Even if that was cut in half...that'd be bare minimum 35 hours. It's scary to think about... especially since BBQ, and Hex Ruin are just leaving the shrine. lol

I made the switch myself recently. It does take some getting used to moving from controller to KB+M (especially when using Hillbilly), but I can very much feel the difference in control/aiming compared to a pad. I wouldn't have done it if the game and almost all of its character DLC wasn't on sale, though, or if they weren't introducing the Blood Web changes with the upcoming chapter.

PC version will probably last longer since the next gen of consoles are getting lined up for release next year. I play both using my experience I quickly leveled up killers for good builds.
Also the framerates issues was never that big of a issue for me when playing ps4.

If I remember correctly the PS5 has complete backwards compatibility with PS4

I play on PS4 pro, I also have a POS laptop that I bought off Amazon that can technically run the game but hangs and lags all the time. But I use a controller for survivor and the only way I can use my PS4 controller is with an app that switch has PS4 controller promps to Xbox controller promps. so it's not necessarily an issue with dead by daylight more than it is with Windows recognizing your controller.

@Pyromann700 Steam recognizes my PS4 controller as a PS4 controller. However, DbD doesn’t check with Steam to determine which controller is being used. It automatically assumes that all controllers are for the XBox, even the official Steam controllers, which is just laziness on BHVR’s part.
