Biggest Problem With The Game
The game doesn't teach players how to play. Think about it, You play the survivor tutorial it teaches you how to walk, hold m1 on a gate and generator and that's it. No information about looping or that it's even a thing, no information about the value of pallets and when to use them or conserve them, barely any information about perks
You use the Killer tutorial it tells you that you have a red light and make a big heartbeat noise to survivors and that's it. The only thing you know how to do is just walk forward and occasionally press the attack button. No information about mind-games, no information about hiding your red light, no information about perks and power training. The game quite literally just throws new players straight into the frying pan and expects them to get out of it
This is why you see new killers tunneling and camping because they don't understand the nature of spreading the pressure across multiple survivors because well "Alright, this game wants me to kill people. So since I already hooked that guy I clearly need to go after him only to kill him and then go after the other guys!" likewise they think that once you have a hook that's what you need to protect and stay at. So they guard the hook for 2 minutes, the new survivors either finally finish generators or die trying to rescue and that's that. And of course once a killer starts up a chase he has no idea how to loop so he'll just keep running down the worst angles on L and T-Walls over and over again and this is why you have so many new players saying "Looping is broken! Exploiters!". Likewise with new survivors yelling Killers are OP because all they do is sit at the pallet and camp there for 50 years so they can get the stun because they think that's what you do in the game
The game simply does not tell you bloody ANYTHING about actual game mechanics. It throws hundreds of perks at you on both sides, gives you tons of definitions for in-game mechanics, and it doesn't do a bloody thing to explain any of it. In order to properly understand the game you have to go and look at third party guides and youtube videos. Honestly I would say the game for new players is actually more challenging than Team Fortress 2. Because In TF2 you have a chat feature, you have respawns, and its a shooter so there is going to be carry over from other games. In DBD's case there's not very many games like it and if your a new player you are in a complete and total information vacuum
We need a better tutorial, no. What we need is a training ground for new players to practice their skills with powers, looping, counter looping, and familiarity with tiles. It would also be awesome to test out builds as well

You're not wrong. The tutorial needs an update.

Do your own tutorial for the contest. Wish you luck!

We need tutoring killers who play fair for new survivors to learn the ropes of the game before entering the world of tunnelling.
We also need tutoring survivors who don't mock you, flash light spam etc
A new player should be able to access this tutoring mode for the first 15/20 levels of the game so they can learn.
I would volunteer as tutoring killer

Tutoring mode or training ground sound like cool alternatives.
I think it's important to remember, though, when criticising the tutorials for lack of information, to put yourself into the mindset of a new player who knows literally nothing. No one wants to spend an hour in the tutorial before they even get to try the real thing. Yes, there's a lot of important stuff that the tutorial misses, but it covers all the absolute most basic controls and mechanics. This is your goal, these are the direct steps you have to take to reach it. You can't really put much more than that in a tutorial before it gets overwhelming.

Make 2 or 3 tutorials.
Basic
Medium
Advanced
And there you go, anyone can take as many or as little information as they want

Another excellent suggestion.
They could be standalone options, or they could be sequential, with basic covering the bare bones mechanics, intermediate covering things like totems and pallets, and advanced teaching general strategies like looping and patrolling.

Same here, I like to play to relax and have fun, I'd love mentoring

Yes, the tutorial needs an update, never thought about that. :D

True there are debatably other issues but this affects the entire lower rank population
How many times have you run into killers that keep going the wrong direction in every loop, or survivors that are running Urban evasion in the corner of the map?
Especially the ones that run the moment they hear a heartbeat, Even though it's somehow freaking PURPLE RANKS

Can I be a tutoring killer too? ;-)
Pleaseeee I promise I will behave THIS time!!! I will just hit them while they are hooked....twice! No, wait... only three times and that's it! ..... You know what? Forget it, I don't want to be a tutor anyway

Honestly i think the biggest problem is most people main one side and doing poorly in game brings a feeling of high helplesness.
Like if you played COD and just got sniped every time.
