Where are my offerings?

So the description of an offering says that offerings are used up at the beginning of the trial, unless they conflict with another offering.

I offered a Yamaoka Family Crest and the killer offered a Heart Locket. We ended up going to Coldwind and i'm wondering... Where did my crest go?

They conflicted and my map wasnt chosen, so why isnt the offering back in my inventory? I only had 1 so i'm kinda peeved since it's my favourite map.

    I am pretty sure you lose the offering no matter what so long as it was burned at the beginning.

    The map offerings are not tickets to enter a specific map, all it does is greatly increase your chances of going there. All survivors and the killer can offer different map offerings at once, and it can still theoretically be possible that none of those maps get picked

    Its just bad luck
