Disconnecting seriously needs to be addressed!
So I know several people have complained about disconnecting before but I don’t feel like anything is being done about it.
I know that if you disconnect from 80% of your games then you get banned or whatever.
but I feel like some people need more than that.
im not the most experienced dbd player I haven’t put 100s of hours into the game. But I do enjoy playing and I do it for fun. I don’t care if I ever become a rank 1 survivor but people disconnecting really even ruins having fun on the game.
There have been too many games that I’ve played where one or two people have disconnected and it really hurts the other survivors. I don’t know why people dc when theyve been hit or put on a hook but it’s not fun for anyone.
i think it’s really unfair when two people disconnect and you’ve still got 5 gens to do you’ve literally got no chance. If killers get rewarded for survivor dcs then so should we for surviving with less people.
I’m not sure what can be done to avoid this. I was thinking about a time ban for the people that constantly dc so maybe the first one 5 minutes and then it would gradually increase. I saw some people mention that they would start with a -75% bp penalty but for those who have thousands stacked up I don’t think that would be very effective.
let me know what you think about the people that disconnect and if you have any ideas of what could be implemented to just improve everyone’s game play.
thanks!

Not to shoot down your parade or anything, but this is a known issue. It has been for 3 years. Just wait for Dedicated Servers.

U putting this in the wrong forum needs to be addressed.

Survivors shouldn't be rewarded for DC it's a team game, the killer is rewarded for killing. However, a DC does not equal a KILL thus the killer gets less points. Also this could be abused, (SWF) about to die on deathhook just DC. This wouldnt stop foul play it would reinforce it.
However I'm all for timeouts and those types of punishments.

What should dedicated servers change? Survivors still can simply DC, I experienced it very often in PTB with dedicated servers enabled!!

It'll allow the game to track and punish DCers with greater efficiency and a new punishment system..

But that did not help me in that game, which is all that counts (for me, personally)

Dedicated Servers weren't active for long enough to show the punishments. Plus, not all aspects were active at all.

Chain them to their chairs,
nail their feet to the ground,
and MAKE THEM PLAY!!
RAAAAQRRRGGHGGHGHGHGHGH!!
PUNISH! PUNISH! PUN!SH
(sorry, this is the vibe i get every time i see a thread about this .. carry on.)

you guys are nuts..
again, if you want people to stay in your games longer because you notice a lot of people leaving your game earlier than you think they should, there's a good chance you're doing something to make people not want to stay in your games.
you can't punish people for maybe deciding they don't want to play with you as a teammate, especially if you're playing a different game than the other person or people want to play, e.g. a stealth, last man standing kind of game will make me leave as quickly as possible because i'm not trying to play that..
contrary to popular belief, a game where you have to run for your life from a brutal killer should actually involve interaction with said killer imo. if i get hooked and see teammates spending too much time in lockers or crouching somewhere for no reason, i'm out. just because you're trying to hide for 15+ minutes doesn't mean i need to be there to help you do it. you only want me dead as soon as possible so it seems like you got what you wanted, right?

unless of course i'm missing something in these cases and we're actually talking about people who legitimately disconnect from the game for whatever reason vs dying too early..

It will be when we get servers

What is the point of the PTB then, when you can't even test all features??
0 -
Because the features weren't ready.

What is the point of the PTB then when not all features are ready? It should be delayed, or not??
EDIT: I mean the dedicated servers specifically

90% of times survivors DC because the killer has a mori or is a camper/tunneler. Why not put at the end of the match a possibility to rate the killer is you hadn't DC, and then this rate affect the matchmaking time? This way survs will not DC to rate the killer and punish him.

I really don't see why this wasn't implemented already. This would 100% make the game better for alot of people.

As others have pointed out, With dedicated servers they said theyd be able to crack down more on DCs.
Personally I doubt we'll see a change unless a timer is added to reque if you DC. People are still going to DC all the time just not up to the point of half their games or so to avoid any punishments.
