Object of Obsession is ruining red ranks

Is this perk ever going to be removed from the game? I play against it nearly every game approaching red ranks and SWFs abuse the hell out of it. I know the devs have their heads buried in the sand, but this has been something that has broken the game, borderline worse than the old school DS.

Why is it broken? SWFs (that make up a majority of red rank teams, I am talking 2 or 3 people, doesn't even need to be a 4-man) tell each other where you are constantly, basically leaving them to do gens without disruption. Unless you are playing someone like nurse, you are going to lose because of the amount of game-breaking information they have because of this perk.

Get rid of it, or make it so they have a permanent broken status while using it because being able to see someone that is just going to loop a house or barn doesn't really help me unless I am playing as nurse. They have too much information and it really is easy to waste a killer's time while using this perk because the map designs are hilarious with the amount of buildings/jungle gyms that exist. Any M1 killer auto-loses versus a team that abuses this perk.

Play with your food is the ultimate OoO counter. There is no way your obsession gets away from you if you are running PWYF.

Or just run spirit fury for mindless chases but that takes 2 perk slots.

I always camp down anyone running object, they just deserve it.

OOO is the only perk I have a problem with as killer. I completely agree it's rather gamebreaking, especially in an SWF.

Rather than add new status effects they should have just reworked OOO, because now perks that were totally fine (eg. Alert) are getting nerfed for no reason while OOO will still be OP.

It should only reveal auras for a short time, then have a cooldown. There also needs to be a greater drawback for using OOO when not the obsession to add more risk to it. Do this and OOO would be fine honestly.

Last time I went against OoO...there was actually 2 of em, lol. My Freddy just sharpened his claws on em and got the EZ 4k anyway. Give away your position to me and then try looping me around every overly safe building you can think of...Freddys gonna get ya.

How many times you have 3k or 4k when survs play without this perk?

I don't see OoO often at red ranks. It hurts stealthy/trapping killers a lot though and can be gamebreaking for them. An object user will ######### their pants if the killer turns out to be Nurse, Spirit or Billy though.

Yes, much OoO, very gamebraking indeed! They have to do something ASAP

OoO is the one exception I make when it comes to face camping.

I could have zero kills at endgame collapse and one on the hook, I might patrol around the hook but I'll still leave room for sneaky survivors to outplay me for a safe unhook.

If I'm playing a stealth killer and someone is running OoO, though, they're going to die first. I will tunnel them into the ground with no remorse. I might even smack them while they're on the hook a few times just to express my contempt.

I usually try to be sporting, but screw that perk. If a survivor can turn off my power, I'm going to turn off the survivor.

killers like hag and trapper also suffer a lot, and refusing to chase the obsession gives them a free aura read 24/7

Wrong, As trapper and hag you obviously can soft-counter OoO when you are experienced enough, you will eventually figure that out ;) Or else ask someone experienced to enlighten you

There are other killers (stealth) which suffer DRASTICALLY more

OoO destroys Wraith and Pig at the moment and there is no counterplay from their side. Just hope they'll make an dumb mistake.

The perk at all is bad designed in my opinion, especially with third party communication, but at least stealthy bois and guerls get a bit of support with 'Undetectable'.

  • I become BTK when I face OoO.

    Beat them

    Tunnel them

    Kill them

Of course you don't see people running object of obsession in grey ranks. People haven't even unlocked all of the perks around your rank.

I just started camping them super hard. I rev my chainsaw by them near the hook and people for some odd reason don't get the message and try rescuing them in my face. Easy 4K, I should start just camping like an a-hole more often. I don't like camping but I want them to stop trying to ruin my games with their broken perk/comms.

I hardly ever see OoO in red ranks. Maybe once a week with around 5h playtime per day. So i can only think about two options: one, youre really, so REALLY unlucky extrem, or two, youre just lying to get OoO removed with fake statistics.

if a survivor brings OoO, i will not go easy on the team.

if that means tunneling and defending the basement, so be it.

its your choice to be an annoying little survivor, so i will do what i can to kill you and your friends.

same goes for haddonfield offerings btw.

no joke, since i hit red ranks i see nothing but haddonfield offerings and OoO SWFs. its just annoying...

You are a survivor playing with your SWF buddies, of course you are not going to see your friends running OoO. I just had a game again where someone was running it with a SWF. And again, the people that run it just hang out around a building hoping to bait you there.

I have seen it very regularly and people use it with comms (I play killer and I see it very often).

Just because you do not see it in your games does not mean it does not exist. There are people that abuse it very often. I have seen it from green all the way to red, heck there are even some people that use it just to be a dick to the killer.

And let us pretend that it was rarely abused in that sense, it does not change the fact that it is way too useful of a perk when you combine it with people that use discord (lets not pretend that you and your SWF don't use discord). It completely ruins the game for the killer.

I will continue to sit with them at the hook revving my chainsaw until people stop running it or the devs fix it. If you want to ruin my game, I will ruin yours in return.

P.S. I play more survivor than I do killer, and I play solo survivor to boot.
