Individual Killer Queues
So, this is beyond stupid.
NO reason ANYONE should have to go up against 4-man SWF with meta perk loadouts when playing a new DLC killer P1 Level 1 with 3 default perks.
Games end in less than 5 minutes.
So, let's say you just unlocked Legion (why you would do that, I have no clue, they're awful).
Instead of playing in a rank 1 game, you'd start off in rank 12.

But then experienced killers would be put up against new Survivors!
Please ignore SWF pitting experienced Survivors against new killers btw. Thx.

Dude... At level 1, you don't start with no perks. Try again.

bruh...

So you want to be matched with new, inexperienced survivors just because you don't have perks equipped?
The matchmaking is already putting absolutely new & experienced players together and I don't think this is a lot of fun for anyone.

Please don't strawman me.
Depending on your highest killer rank, I'd say just for most killer players never dip below the 12 to 16 range.
Obviously, you wouldn't want to ruin the experience of brand new players. I'm not for that. Those matches are boring.
Here's a clearer example:

@tehshadowman33 I don't think a rank 1 killer should play on rank 12. You can save up bloodpoints before leveling/prestiging a killer, get to level 36-37 and equip some useful perks.

Rank 12 is where all the rank 1 players go after rank reset if I'm not mistaken.
By that logic, you're against rank reset?
A killer who is good on Nurse won't necessarily be amazing with Huntress. Trying to play Huntress at red ranks without ever having ever played or leveled her before just seems unnecessarily cruel.
I mean think about it. If we used my system, the amount of players who would be rank 1 Wraiths would be quite small indeed compared to the number of players in the rank 1 pool for Spirits.

Rank 1 goes back to rank 10. Ex-rank 1s play against ex-rank 1s.
And yes, I'm against the rank reset/matchmaking in its current form because it matches players who shouldn't get matched with each other. (I'm not against rank reset in general.)

It's not an easy topic. You are correct with the Nurse-Huntress-Example. AFAIK the devs plan to consider different ranks for different killers when the new ranking systems comes next year.
Also ranking system and matchmaking system go hand in hand when it comes to whether players will have a good or bad game.
Let's agree for now that the current system isn't working.

I...I like legion...they are fun...

Legion is borderline almost fun.
They need to revisit them.
They need just minor tweaks on the same level as Doctor.

They do need a revisit.
Doctor needs a less extensive visit.

It's not just about no perks, but trying out an entirely new killer for the first time. My first game as Demo was against a similar situation with only level 1 surge. It's rediculous. You shouldn't get white or green survivors, granted, but then they shouldn't have a reset before the update, should they?

I like legion so much I main them, have them as my first P3, and masochistically cut myself like they probably do when waiting for a game. : P
The last part isn't true, but the rest is! XD

@tehshadowman33 What you need to do is level your new killer BEFORE playing and not ask devs to implement a whole set of code just because you don't have blood points.

Its not so much about not having perks, but rather not having any experience with a killer's power, and expected to preform at your usual level. Ive never learned Nurse...Even if I have a fully perked out nurse build, it would be foolish to expect me to even get a single hit against my usual opponites.

I wrote more than 1 post in this thread. Please take everything into account.

I see. You are definitely more nuanced then the only post that caught my eye. Thanks for clearing your position up.

No problem. :)

I play killers im not that good with after rank reset to train them. Pretty good time to play them, because most times you get a mix of experienced and bad survivors so you can see how to deal with different types of survivors. Games are longer tho.

Many ppl run into this problem every month... I can rock Freddy at rank 1 no problem, but If i wanna learn a new killer... I guess I gotta wait for rank reset, and then not play for about a week. This is one reason I have close to 0 experience playing Spirit or Nurse. I have both killers lvled up abit, but their powers are so different than other killers... My experience with Freddy doesnt transfer over to being a good Nurse too.

As I said, it isn't an easy topic. Nurse and Huntress are different worlds while, for example, Trapper and Hag aren't.

Wow.
"By that logic you're against rank reset?"
And THEYRE the ones strawmanning?
Lol.

The current ranking system IS a matchmaking system.
There is no ranked vs casual play. It's all casual. Rank is literally your MMR marker.
