Spirit requires more than headphones.
So I recently got some headphones, I wanted to see if all you needed for her was headphones but I learned that this is 100% false, they help but they aren’t all you need. Spirit does require skill and although I don’t think she has much counter play, she is balanced.

She does indeed have a counter play, But it is really hard to mind trick the mind tricker.

Headphones help but you are extremely correct that she takes skill. She is extremely hard to get used to, but with the right Perks, Addons, and Strats you will be a successful Spirit. =P

shes proper balanced... tracking/reading what the survivor is going to do next are skills.... I agree that sound is most important to her...... she rewards for playtime... the other killers reward as well but no where near spirit/nurse

I never understood why people think Spirit is hard to play. Is she hard to master? Yes, but what isn't in this game? Even basic M1 killer gameplay has depth. In terms of skill cap though, she's probably the best you can get in this game in terms of cost/benefit. She ain't hard to pick up and do basic stuff with when compared to the other good killers.

The thing about spirit counterplay, is that 80% of it is not about the spirit herself, but whoever is playing her.
You need to predict what the player would do.
Unlike other killers where you counter the character way more than the player

YES! Exactly! You get it. Mindgames aren't about the mechanics themselves, but about how psychology plays into those mechanics. You can't mechanically determine a correct answer and call it a "mindgame".

As someone who doesnt own spirit and has played survivor once...? What are you all talking about? I cant even tell if this is supposed to be about playing her or playing agaisnt her.

I've said it many time before. Spirit is a high-skill-ceiling killer. Bad spirits are easy to juke.
The people who claim all you need is headphones are snorting some strong stuff.

we're referring to Spirit, a killer who has an ability where she phasewalks and becomes invisible, but at the same time she can't see survivors either while phased.
Therefore, her primary tools for tracking survivors down is a.) Their Scratchmarks and b.) the noise they make.
That's why Spirit needs "headphones" because for today's gamer generation headphones are apparently the be-all end-all for sound.
(a Good 5.1 or 7.1 system is far superior, just saying)

I actually play Spirit better with speakers than headphones. Speakers give me a more accurate location of the sounds than headphones could ever do. Downside is that my neighbours keep calling the police, because they hear horrible screaming at my house every night. It starts to get annoying.

She really doesn’t require much skill. It took me like 2 days max to get really good with her.

I played her with no headphones, I won't be in PS4 parties when I play Killer cause I did not want to hear background noise.

She also experiences a huge difficulty spike once you hit rank 5 or so. You start running into entire groups with builds centered around countering Spirit. She's one of the few killers that can get hard countered by specific perks. She's a lot more balanced than people give her credit for. Their expectations for chase length are just calibrated around weak killers like Wraith or Clown. It's like only playing with Ruin. It skews your internal clock.

I play Spirit when I farm tbh anymore. I usually throw ruin on and take addons off. Less pressure for me and I play mehish so everyone has a fair chance. Around the 8 to 10 minute mark a change gears and play seriously so I can get 30k plus bp before BBQ stacks.

As much as people like to complain about spirit she does take skill to play and has CD. I'm looking at you Nurse mains. She can't blink through terrain either, she actually has to mind game loops.

Oh they dont win. I just got good enough with Spirit to realize she's an incredibly efficient killer to farm BP quickly. I average about 60k BP for a few minutes of work. So roughly 20 or so games I get about 1 million BP.
The other day I was farming with Spirit with no addons and they popped my ruin pretty quickly and they decided to be toxic and clicky clicky on the pale rose map thinking that without Ruin I would lose since I purposely miss and let the chase drag on when farming.
Turns out when I finally had enough of the behavior they were doing I decided to play serious and crushed them within a couple minutes. Had so much hate mail from them it was sad.
Lesson here at rank reset for rank 10 is best for farming. Do realize your killer was probably rank 1 and dont try to bully the person who clearly is farming.

Run Distressing and just BP builds, that'd be great, Spirit doesn't really need perks for me for how good she is alone.

I recently started using no addons with her as I leveled my p3 lvl 50 Spirit up for all perks before the recent bloodweb changes.
I felt a little uncomfortable without addons at first and then realized just how powerful she really is. I ways knew she was S tier, but wow I had no idea. Personally I dont think I'm ready for the no perk version without addons yet. I still need to improve with her basics.

No. She doesn't. I went from rank 10 to rank 1 playing nothing but spirit with standard build, yellow add-ons, and earbuds. She is ridiculous.
