So, when will we finally see a change to struggle ?
Im serious, Im sick of struggle as is, I've been spamming 1 button for 3 years now and it needs to stop. The excuse that "it's meant to be uncomfortable" is not an excuse. Dead by Daylight is not an immersive game, and even if it was, there is no excuse for an annoying, useless and most of all, bad gameplay mechanic, you're the ones who say that gameplay goes first, and it's not fun gameplay.

It's been the same for 3 years so I doubt it'll ever been changed.

I find it hilarious, watching all these new players on Switch accidentally dying on their first hook because not only do they not know it's a miserable 4% chance to get off the hook, right after it is a button mashing mini game, that they were not prepared for.
It really should be changed, but they won't mess with it I don't think. 3 years, lots of complaints, accidental deaths, and people committing suicide from it. And they haven't done anything to address it, or even acknowledge it as an issue.

Its not really an issue but i think they should change it maybe make it like one or two skill checks or something different but you don't even have to press that hard i hear some people break there keyboard/controller mashing it when you can just press it at a medium speed and you'll live

Don't struggle. Let the Entity take you into it's spidery arms.

I mean atleast take me out for dinner first
7 -
I mean yeah you usually don't have to press it that hard, but if you are not and the game has a lag spike or something, it will kill you. So pressing it faster is safer. It's rare of course, I've only been killed by it accidentally like 6 or 7 times maybe in like 2000 hours or so? Though it did happen recently in my first match as Steve, it also happened to a friend while we were playing....though we kind of laughed it off and called him a rage quitter.

Yeah its not an issue i kinda like it it keeps me on my toes and helps me remember that im not dead yet and the fight isn't over
0 -
I'd remove it in a heartbeat. It does nothing to keep me on my toes, I don't need to mash a button to tell me the fight isn't over yet either. Accidental deaths are still frustrating even if it's rare. And also if I'm gonna sit on a hook, I would like to be able to grab a bite to eat, look at my phone, or maybe something simple like petting my cat without having to worry about am I hitting this button enough times to not get killed accidentally.
1 -
Yeah but thats why it exists so you don't just walk away because what if your saved while you're going to do something while waiting then you'll just die and anyways they'll never remove it because a few people dislike it
0 -
Do you walk away when you get your first hook? I'm curious about this...
0 -
No i sit and wait for someone to save me and i don't even touch my phone while playing the most I'd do while hooked is take a sip of water
0 -
Exactly, no ones going to leave on their second hook either. As soon as they are going to be unhooked they grab their controller and start playing. Also this is like the 100th thread asking for this to be changed, majority seem to want it changed, while a small minority are like it makes me more immersed. And I'm just like how...? You feel scared knowing that if you a lag spike hits you'll die unintentionally, perhaps your thumb slips if your on console you'll accidentally die? Oh man that immersion.
It probably won't be changed, but personally they should just make it an option in the menu's so people who like mashing buttons can mash away, and those who don't it will just automatically work.

Nobody really enjoys it we just don't hate it its not hard to press a button a few times to survive if you hate it so much just die on second hook
0 -
So you are working for the entity as well... Mr_K and XCheeseMongrolx trying to make people commit suicide on their second hook to get taken to the entity....I see your game plan now....

Oh frick you found me out i better scram
0 -
Well, its been 3 years so...
*checks watch*
Probably never

I'd never!

If you have troubles mashing the button try rebinding struggle to mouse wheel, best change i ever did.
0 -
It is an issue.
0 -
I did it aswell, still super annoying. Also, console players exists
0 -
Thats a myth

I think it would be nice if it could be changed to progressively harder skill checks the closer to death you are so you get some points but if you fail you die.. slightly less mind numbing than button mashing

I want a change to struggling free unless 3 people body block or unless you are r really lucky u will never get off killer shoulders. Too many hooks too close together . It ruins the point of the struggle being so pointless .and its a good mechanic the hope of freedom from hard struggling to pointless wasted effort . I've taken 2 miss swings 1 hot n killer still g pi t to hook in time . Without iron grasp should have to be quick cautious to not lose prey . Hitting could extend wiggle time or pause their ability to struggle but currently it is next to pointless. Or survivors near slow wiggle progress

Hatch was changed after 3 years. Don't shoot the idea down when it's perfectly healthy.

I think a massive issue with the end game is different than a 2nd sacrifice phase mechanic...
But we'll see what happens.

Is OP asking to take the struggle out of struggle? xD
0 -
The struggle doesn't exist for you to escape.
It exists so you don't get put in the basement every time.
Or get carried around all game

When struggle affect killers, not survivors

2021 if we’re lucky.

Imagine breaking your switch from all the button mashing. Now you just lost a $300 piece of hardware.
0 -
Let's hope I don't do that...my DBD on switch is downloading now.....dun dun dun!

I don’t really mind but if someone has some sort of disability problem or can’t exactly move their fingers very well it can be difficult.
There should be an option for people who have that kind of issue! Everyone should be able to enjoy the game

Ugh. Yes. I get they want it to be a struggle to struggle, but just make it more holding a button like everything else.
