Influx of DC'ing Survivors During This Event - What Will BHVR Do About It?

Ive been getting a lot of disconnecting survivors with the BP event. If they get knocked down fast, they know they dont have a chance of stacking up a lot of points. So it's more efficient to DC and find a new match immediately to get a good match to stack points.

Second theory: people are now playing more Survivor when they would normally play Killer due to wait times being so high as Killer. They are inexperienced Survivors, then get butthurt when they get rekt and say "Im bad, this sucks, im out of here. Didn't even wanna play Survivor in the first place." And DC.

Third theory: more people are playing, thus, we have more casuals on hand then normal. These are people who don't mind messing with the integrity of the game or potential consequence of getting banned.

So BHVR, solution? Stricter ban control or what?

These ppl dc Bc they go against Spirits all day. Idk why, but spirits like to camp and slug. I play ghostface and I just like teabagging them and getting BP, while occasionally hooking them during this event, maybe sacrificing one of them.

no one during this event wants to go against spirits EVERY game. besides killers get more BP if they go around smacking ppl and giving them a hard time. It’s a BP event, not a SWEAT simulator. Just do the next match and move on.

Why no, in fact I do not.

Allow me to describe for you my first killer match of the event and how each subsequent match has gone thus far.

    -Playing Spirit-

Survivor 1: gets hit, and vaults through a window. I stand next to the window and wait, they vault back through, I hit them again, they DC.

Survivor 2: gets hit, and drops a pallet. I stand next to the pallet and wait, they vault over it, I hit them again, they DC.

Both dc's occured within less than three minutes of the match starting. I was not using Prayer Beads. Just literally stood there and out-mindgamed them.

Every match thus far, for me, has had something to the accord of that go on. Survivors who just instantly dc because HEAVEN FORBID the Killer does their job and give the Survivors a good smacking.

People are also getting booted from the game by the game itself.

I had TONS of Survivor's DC'ing from my Killer matches last night, it was really annoying.

Basically, if I was willing to "Farm" they stayed, if not they just DC'd. It also has to do with Survivor's trying to "DERANK" right now because of their long que times.

(I HAD 3 SURV DC within the first 3min of the match when I used an EVENT CAKE 103% bp boost during 2xbp event for them)

I mean, if people are willing to DC even when there's an event cake thrown at them during double bp event IDK WHAT to tell you :(

Nah it doesn't always work like that. I know a few survivors who constantly DC with no sound, because they close the game by the task manager or turning off the internet.

This is making the game incredibly unplayable. Ive had the same issue since I recently bought and installed the game. I play wraith and people dc every match. At first I thought it was just noob survivors but then it got weirdly consistent. ######### is going on?

Don't waste your time answering questions like that.

You don't need to defend whatever you do in-game, so long as you are not verbally abusing others post game or using exploits.

Most people that post stuff like that are usually very, very weak at the game, stunted by a 'great' attitude and 'willingness to learn.'

Alot of ppl will DC before they can even be put on a hook 1 time... Can't really blame camping or tunneling on that one. Had a game the other day where 2 ppl DCed within a minute of the game starting.

I haven't noticed an influx. It's standard to have a DC every other game or so, unfortunately.

Nothing can be done about disconnects until dedicated servers come out.

I've been switching back and forth between survivor and killer and honestly I've been seeing more killers d/c at the end to deny survivors the escape bloodpoints than I've had disconnecting survivors. On PS4 at least.

This "Did you camper/tunneler so much?" is nonsense. The DC is always flagrant and purposeful; usually after someone gets downed really fast, then leaves. There is no "frustrating camper" or overt "connection issues."

This is a problem fostered by BHVR's inability to effectively set a stricter, but still reasonable, ban system.

At the very end of every match, right after I escape, it tells me I've been disconnected from the host. It's a really annoying bug. I don't know if that's what you're experiencing, but like I said, it's happening every game for me. Personally, I have yet to see a killer DC on purpose at the end to try to deny BP. (PS4)

Soooooo many disconnects. It's insane right now on survivor side, at least at high ranks. My last four games have had a DC at the start depending on who goes down first. Two of those games, there was a duo and they both DC if their buddy goes down. At least I had one killer who let us farm, I guess?

This ######### needs to be punished severely. People are mostly doing it (I think) because they know they're gonna have a bad game. Bad game = less BPs. No punishment for DCing in the form of a queue cooldown means that you might as well just go next game and try your luck there. Sucks pretty badly for survivors like me who will never DC no matter what. Always getting the short end of the stick.

What bhvr will do about it? Simple: waiting till the event ends aka nothing.

    Ghoste Member Posts: 2,135

The devs have stated multiple times that a stricter ban system cannot be implemented until after dedicated servers release.

They are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. No sense in stirring the pot here on the forums.

You're better off ignoring such posts/posters (look at their post history).

Just keep trying to have meaningful discussion and being civil - Don't let 'good' posters get you down - They're on every thread.

I admit, I Dcd earlier. A freddy started the match in sight of me and we had a short chase. No biggie. Then he slugs me and camps me. Ok. When survivors show up, he let's them heal me from dying and then downs me before I can move. He repeats 6 times, shaking his head yes to the other two. Then they leave me slugged and go looking for the 4th survivor. I Dcd at that point. Not being farmed by others against my will. They did the same to the other till she Dcd.

How dare I not allow myself to be farmed by survivors and killer working together. Cone of shame.

We are still waiting on the magic of dedicated servers to fix everything wrong like a miracle... 🙄 They say the will be able to act on dcs better but they said fall... possibly.. so a long way till then even if then.

And we have no idea how they will be dealing with them either.

The devs have not yet even given survivors dc points for DC killers like how killers get for DC survivors... prob nothing will change for survivor DCs

Agreed. My buddy was playing a farm game stacking everything maxed and DCed at the end. Let's just say he wasnt happy

I will say this, I've been seeing a strange set of game crashes the past 2 days. I was letting some survivors leave and they suddenly go DC at the gates. Happened 3 times. Had a survivor crash while trying to unhook. I thought he DCd, but another said he was reaching for him, then stopped and crashed.

    I have crashed several times.

I got disconnected while I was healing another survivor. I don't know if it happened to just me or if it happened to everyone.

This is spot on. Couldn't have said it better myself. If there is no playing-time penalty for dc'ing, it will continue.

They won't do anything to prevent an influx in DC's for a 4 day event. Sorry, don't expect anything

Somehow... I don’t believe you... sorry nothing against you... but I have yet to meet ANY spirit who doesn’t zoom back to the hook and tunnel ppl >_>

A lot of butthurt out there.

I play both survivor and killer on a regular basis and I've seen it from both sides. Many survivors DC the second they get downed or even hit. Many killers, although not as frequent-- but we have to consider the survivor to killer ratio, DC the second their hex is cleansed or the gates are opened.

Sadly there's a lot of people out there who just can't handle it when things aren't going their way. Don't know why they decide to play a competitive game if that's the case 🤷‍♂️

I figured it was just buggy. My game crashed twice on Saturday, I saved the footage incase I received some hate mail from someone thinking I DCed on purpose.

I see no difference. In fact I saw more survivors DCing before the event than during the event.

  • FiftyCalReaper

Double blood points, plus party streamers. Why DC? When I see a survivor DC when somebody put up party streamers, I literally just start laughing maniacally. It doesn't bother me at all.

Word of advice. You'll have more fun in life when you realize you can't control other people's actions no matter how much you want to. No matter what BHVR does, people will always DC. It happens in every single multiplayer game. It happens in League of Legends a lot and you can't even surrender in that game until the 20 minute mark, so just be glad trials on DBD don't last very long. Move onto the next match.

I know I’ve been trying to play survivor for an hour and it haven’t found a game that hasn’t been cancelled yet.

It seems a lot of plays are DCing in general which is disappointing. I hope this becomes banable soon.

  • FiftyCalReaper
    FiftyCalReaper Member Posts: 110

Even if it's bannable it will still happen. So it's not really a solution. I think a timeout would do a lot of good. First DC times you out for 5 minutes, and the timer goes up progressively the more you DC until you're timed out for 30 minutes. But...it'll still happen regardless.

I haven't seen that many DCing survivors during this event. It happens, but not often. (PS4)

I had one trial where Legion tagged everybody early on, so everybody but me DC'd. I mean everybody, even the killer. And to top it off my rank dropped for having been there.

Just had a 3 man swf all disconnect the moment they realized they were up against a plague - and I wasn't a pushover

Pretty pathetic, given all my perks were level one and I don't even have Thano, Dying Light, and Ruin

    This community is such garbage.
