@MegMain98 My 3rd time trying her and I can see why people find annoying to play against.
She is very easy to learn. You dont need to see survivors or their scratch marks, because their grunts give away their position.

I’ll agree with the low risk/high reward part. I just don’t think she’s incredibly easy to play.
Some of the “easy/intermediate/hard” ratings don’t make sense. Why are Doctor, Myers, and Ghostface “hard” and Huntress is “intermediate”? They don’t all make sense.

She's onryo. Japanese ghost lore doesn't follow the ''I'm invisible" and all the famous horror onryo were NEVER invisible. They were always in your face with creepy ass twitching and movements they made towards you.
So her being an invisible ghost? Doesn't even make sense with her ''Died in the grip of a powerful rage." Japanese horror ghost lore in the first place.

Oh she is incredibly annoying to play against, people hate going against her. Nobody is denying that.
Yeah but what are the survivors like? Do they seem decent? You can stomp potatoes with any killer.
Once you get a good group on a terrible map with brown add-ons it becomes a struggle to keep pressure.

Main here and I would remove prayer beads from the game we dnt need them and they are boring to use. It's easy mode I love this killer, but those beads need to go. Otherwise shes quite balanced people just refuse to adapt to her and it shows. She's a unique killer and demands a style of play people dont want to play.

Let’s say hypothetically she wasn’t invisible while phasing...why should survivors be invisible to her then? That’s not particularly a fair trade off. That would be like Huntress blindly throwing a hatchets but the survivor knew exactly where to dodge and she didn’t know their location.

I dunno my dude, she can be annoying as hell to face. Personally I see why people dislike going against her especially because she’s extremely popular among red ranks. An extreme nerf to her though? Nah.
I dislike going against Trapper and Billy. I also never strongly dislike the Legion’s entire character.

Because if they're not invisible? She becomes the same problem she is now. Overpowered.
You're asking her to have a tell, but still have all the power she currently has. If she's visible to survivors it really changes nothing. Because a good Spirit is still going to track based on the sound of the survivor and the scratches.
She's still getting easy free hits with your suggestion. That's her current problem. She has no tell to her ability. She gets free hits.
If she's visible and can see survivors now too when using her ability? She's still gonna be getting the hit. Even more likely now to get that hit than she ever was.
You're just asking for her to be unbalanced in a different way than what she is right now.

The Spirit has a Skill gap but it's not in the same sense that Nurse and Huntress do.
Specifically, Nurse and Huntress's difficulty comes more from things like muscle memory and aiming. While obviously if you are brain dead you aren't going to be doing very good with them, it's far more about execution and getting the timing down for when and where specific actions work and how to execute the correct moves.
However the Spirit is different. The literal act of using her isn't mechanically difficult, hitting someone in phasewalk isn't THAT precise. However her difficulty is in having to be able to constantly predict the Survivors and get into their heads to know what path they will take possibly before even they do and manipulating them into coming to where you either are or where you will be. Once you have a read on them the execution itself is fairly straightforward and if they are being predictable like many Survivors are then even that part isn't too difficult.
But the real reason why Spirit can feel easier than Nurse or Huntress is because those skills I mentioned aren't solely applicable to the Spirit. Most multiplayer games have some form of prediction as a part of the gameplay and getting into someone elses head is a mindset that people do as part of other games and even though not to the same degree as other Killers in DBD such as Hag or Trapper (although the scale is different there). Knowing the blink ranges and timing isn't going to help you play Huntress and knowing windup times won't help you as Nurse. But knowing the optimal place to put a phantasm trap to catch someone off guard in a chase 2 minutes later WILL help you be a better Spirit even if you've never phase walked in your life. So if you've been playing Hag for 1k hours or even play other games that have nothing to do with DBD a lot then you will find yourself right at home with Spirit since the mindset and skills required are less exclusive than the skills required to blink or throw a hatchet. Meaning you aren't starting from scratch with Spirit while you mostly are with Nurse or Huntress (or Billy to a lesser extent).
I will admit though that Hag and Trapper are likely much harder than Spirit due to the difference between when you make the prediction and when the prediction needs to come true. Spirit needs to predict where you will be in 5 seconds while Trapper is predicting where you will be in 5 minutes. The fundamental skillset required is very similar but the Trapper's has more wrong answers.

The survivors don’t need to know the Spirit’s EXACT location while she is phasing.
There needs to be more signs that she is using her ability. Such as maybe a slight glow when she is using her ability. She should also have louder footsteps.
She’s not even overpowered at her base kit, once you start using certain add-ons is when it gets a little bit ridiculous.

I main Kate and Spirit too.
I wouldn't say Spirit is easy to beat, but she does indeed have counter play. Stealth in particular is super effective against her. Super immersed survivors are the most difficult things to deal with as a Spirit player. Can't lose a chase if you never get found.
Also you can totally predict her and bait her to do certain things. Her power has a 15 second cool down at base, so you need to actively track how long she was phase walking (5 seconds max at base) and how long it's been since she phase walked to play around her. And you can loop her at windows, because she can't vault while phasing. This is why it's generally a smart idea to just drop the pallet and treat it like a window. Either she has to mind game you and predict what you are doing or break the pallet.
Iron Will, Spine Chill, Q&Q, DWM... all these perks are devastating to her. Meta perks (DS, BT) on the other hand actually aren't a problem for her. I will knowingly eat your DS without a care because I know I can just phase walk after you and most likely catch you again in less than 10 seconds. Or proc BT because I can just brute force my way through it. I'd rather deal with 4 DS's than IW/SC combo.
The thing is, playing against the Spirit takes a certain skill set majority of survivors don't have. I can tell during the first chase which side you fall on. Most survivors are an easy AF catch because they do really stupid or obvious things. The good survivors though, they will run me around for a good amount of time and/or hide very well making me waste time looking for them. Just one of these survivors in a game with IW/SC will cost you the match.

Good headphones make it easier to play any killer honestly. If you are injured and on or near the same tile as me I will hear you and find you. Doesn't matter who I am. And I'll hear you breathing in close range, or grass moving, or footsteps, or whatever other sounds survivors make.

Absolutely. I’ve played many killers and heard a survivor breathing next to me and I started a chase. Usually it’s a female. Meg and Feng tend to have the loudest breathing. I also love when I hear an immersed Blendette breathing.

I found the Meg in this clip because as I walked by I heard a very faint GASP that I knew was definitely her. And with my Astro's I could pinpoint both the direction and general distance she was. That's why I turn very sharply to her because I knew exactly where she was. From the literal smallest noise a survivor can make. If her character didn't gasp right there I would have walked right past her. It's so faint I don't even think you can hear it in the clip.
That's the power of a good headset. Of course playing Spirit has honed my hearing much more, but it doesn't matter who I play. I can do this with anyone.

@MegMain98 Unless you have Iron Will, there is 0 to little mindgame with her.... even the best survivor will have a hard time with her because it's mostly a guessing game.
I was surprised with how loud survivors sound when they are injured and how many people actually thought it wasn't loud enough. lol

As a spirit main with about 500 hours in her, I think all she needs remove is collision and injured noise base (ironwill). I think she is fine, I created fake lead sratch mark areas and you have to avoid grass. slow vault pallets and windows to screw her up. Yeah its difficult to pull it of but you have to read the spirit player you're playing against, sounds gives her too much info even when no scratches and collision as well. she strong but beatable, just harder, I don't understand people can face a nurse when she literally breaks every aspect of the game, yeah sure you get no feedback from spirit, but even when nurse screws up she mostly rewarded for it compare to a 15 second cooldown on spirit.

Change Prayer beads or, at the very least, remove collision when she's using them. (Removing collision in her phase at all times would work as well. I've never met a good spirit that relies on collision in phase)
Other than that she's fine, you just have to run her a little different from every killer. IE: actually try to escape and lose the chase rather than try to one structure.(Which is good IMO, I like having to do something other than run in circles to escape a killer)

Absolutely negative. You will not pick up Spirit and be good with her, maybe not for some time. Despite what people say and think, you are gonna have to practice with Spirit a fair bit to get good with her. The issue with Spirit isn't her ease of use, the problem is against a good Spirit there isn't counterplay aside from perks. I've seen a ton of Spirits in red rank and by enlarge they aren't great. Only a select few were actually good with her.

I tried playing her after complaining about her so much, now I believe that she is even more broken. It was so easy to get 4ks every match. If survivors don't have Iron Will, it's not even a challange.
I would definitely remove prayer beads and remove her collision with survivors while phasing.

Well, I got 4ks in my first 5 matches with her at rank 7 so she is really not hard to learn if you have headphones

I feel like everyone here has never played AS the spirit only seen gameplay. And when I mean play as I mean REALLY play as her. A minimum of 5 hours at ranks 6-1 should be mandatory to determine her ease of play

Git gud. The reality is, you aren't as good as you think you are which is why a killer that goes blind still out-mind games you. The pattern with your caliber of survivor is consistent. Any killer you can't loop and semi-infinite is "OP". Those days are all but over and any killer still suffering from it doesn't get played.

The major issue here lies in people's differences to what is hard. Some people find spirit to be high skillcap and some of us don't because we are all different. Some of us can land every hex skill-check and some of us can't. Some of us can hear people without stridor very easily and some of us can't. Some of us can hear footsteps and some of us can't. Some of us can afford a headset and some of us can't. LOL, ya'll get the point.
I'ts very well known in the community that she is top tier with less of a skill-cap than most killers. If you don't see it than I don't know what to tell ya. It's the reason why she is picked so much in every rank of play.

You don't need good headphones. I'm using cheap headphones and I'm sure you can afford that if you can afford to buy the dlc for this game.
Billy can be looped and he's one of the top killers. This game doesn't have any mechanics for survivors other than looping. Devs pretty much killed stealth with countless perks for killers.

Try stealth. Spirit doesn't have any detection that isn't a perk and every perk can be countered.
You have no entitlement to safety, to a guaranteed successful counter, or an easy game.
Stating the devs killed stealth because you know that's the answer you are going to get doesn't mean anything. It is your counter and it's the only one you're going to get. Pallets work on Spirit as do vaults and so too do perks like lightweight and iron will, so no nerfs are coming.
You can deduce that from after this long Nurse is only being considered for a rework and she outright ignores those with the same blinded hindrance.
(which by the way will limit her blinks but in return make her more easier for the average person to use as a tradeoff as there is no other way to alter her power aside from blink quantity/distance or ease)

The problem with stealth is it doesn't do anything for the survivor to Pip. Nor can you really stealth all game versus any competent killer. A full stealth squad game would earn both sides nothing.

That's a personal issue. Deviousness doesn't help a killer pip either. Both sides have their crosses to bear. I guess your option becomes get better at mind games or accept that sometimes you can do everything correctly and still lose. It certainly works that way for killers.

A personal issue? Lol, so biased. Playing spirit is a guaranteed black pip at worst for the killer, and so is Nurse.
So survivors are suppose to just play stealthy all game because of one killers extreme chase potential and accept it. All the while already getting less BP per match on average than killers do. Just accept it and play like a big bish even tho you got to win chases and interact with the killer to PIP. What a fucken joke LOL
