  • You guy's need to stop complaining about survivor's, you have multiple perks, add-ons, abilities and huge hit boxes to stop us.

Two of those perks, I can understand, but the other two are pretty funny. Having an issue with two very easily countered perks like BBQ and Nurse’s is more of a you issue. In fact, I praise whoever manages to down any player while running Nurse’s with the current ‘don’t heal’ meta.

I'm sick of Ruin and BBQ. 🤷 Those affect me as a survivor nearly every single game. Not sure when the last time I got hit by DS as killer was lol. I don't tunnel and I often slug. Zero problems.

Actually I like the change. Because it is meant to be a saver against tunneling, but many survivors play like "beat me bi***, Im gonna stun ya". Which is seriously not the intention of that perk.

In exchange you could set up the timer to 40/50/60 instead of starting at 30, because for me, tier 1 is almost useless if the killer is not extremely tunneling. Normally they chase the second guy to at least hit them once, and that often is enough to take down the timer

    New DS is better.

There have been many discussions showcasing numerous (and varied) examples of it doing way more than detract from tunneling.

It's the best perk in the game for survivors, followed closely by Adrenaline.

You are not the only one, unfortunately.

How easy it is to forget the past. Old DS was a punishment for doing well. Juggling was not a solution. It was a time wasting effort easily countered by another survivor being near. New DS doesn't hinder you unless you let it.

and im sick of people complaining about ds because they cant track their hooks.

I think it is fine as is. Usually i can get them right after they do that. Only when its endgame it's like"Haha got you!" *DS* "Nooo!" *Slow motion runs to gate* *Slow motion butt dance* (/´¬<)(Face Palm)

I'm a killer main and I think the new DS is much better than the old one. If I run into it, its mostly because I lost track of who I had hooked.

atleast enduring was soft counter to ds now the stun is too long and there are some situations where u cant avoid ds like in end game

Focus on the saving survivor instead.

Slugging will save you a lot of trouble, and if you're smart enough, you can bait out survivors while waiting for the timer to end. But you should know that slugging is a risky business- since repairing a generator takes 80 seconds on one's own, you should only do it if you feel as if it is absolutely necessary.

What I can say ? Just play Infectious Fright Nurse, slug everyone and never worry about DS ?

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,545

Had a game the other night that kinda just emphasizes what DS does for ppl. Someone got unhooked and I managed to QUICKLY down the rescuer. Could've slugged and gone after the unhooked too but thought...meh. Hooked my new victim, just to have the guy with the now active DS try coming in for a save 5 seconds later instead of trying to recover or anything... Downed him next to the hook. Oh boy... I sure tunneled THAT guy. Got plenty of flack for tunneling in endgame chat of course.

    It doesn't bother me.

They usually go back down within 10 seconds of using DS.

  • katoptris
    katoptris Member Posts: 3,179

DS is on a 60 sec timer now. At least it alot better than getting DS by every persons that run it.

THIS THIS IS IT IN A NUTSHELL.

Seriously don't see why people are so against new ds when if there not actually tunneling and still get hit by it, there still incredibly likely to win like??? Downing multiple people within a minute is amazing. Forcing them to use their d strike is even better, expecially when the game is in your favour. Better then it being used when 5 gens are done or at the end before a hatch escape. Plus if your in such a good spot and didn't tunnel you can likely easily down them again.

  • Yung_Slug
    Yung_Slug Member Posts: 2,238

If you're hooking people so quickly that you manage to down the DS survivor without realizing it, you can afford to take the stun.

  • Mister_Holdout
    Mister_Holdout Member Posts: 3,144

It's funny because whenever I'm playing survivor my teammates usually don't have DS. And then they get tunneled off the hook lol.

On a serious note though, I think DS should be tweaked. 60 seconds of pick-up immunity is not an anti tunnel effect imo.

I'm sick of playing nurse and Spirit every other game and dealing with crazy addons which really aren't that hard to get. Let's complain about everything together.

    Pretty much this.

Even if you do genuinely down people so fast that you get hit by DS after hooking someone else, getting rid of a DS while you actually have someone else on a hook is the absolutely best time you can possibly do it.

Picking up one, one on the hook and at least one going for the save, so at absolute most one survivor working on a generator when it happens unless it's near the end of the game and they're going for some adrenaline play.

DS would be fine if every single survivor didn't run it. The timer on it is way too long. 60 seconds is a long time in a match, and do I really need to ignore a downed survivor for that long in order for me not to be punished for "tunneling"?

  • Cetren
    Cetren Member Posts: 985

I think it has the same problem as it did before. Getting hit with it once is pretty strong, and you can make up for it. 2 or more times against a decent group and the game is over, plain and simple.

I dont really have a problem with D strike, I slug mostly in those situations. And only because of that, I get actually alot of pressure from that when I can injure mutliple survivors that are trying to pick the slugged guy up.

You don't tunnel? So you are trying to have us believe is you down and hook a survivor, find another survivor and hook him then find the other survivor and eat a DS, all within 60-80 seconds?

The fact you are complaining about it means this happens regularly, either you are tunnelling or the survivors are idiots in which case re-catching them after eating that stun shouldn't be too hard.

How about DS deactivates after you hook two other survivors? I'd settle for that.

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 8,545

Id just like DS to deactivate if a survivor starts doing an objective or something. That moment when you run into a situation where someone has DS, so they go for an unhook knowing you cant pick up either person now... Not just that, but if your breaking a totem or working on a gen...you're CLEARLY not being tunneled. Hate getting a gen grab, only to get a DS right after...

Pretty much this. It also punishes intuition (if you notice someone go in a locker or scratchmarks end at a locker, you can't always identify its occupant and are punished if you go for the grab), and in fact players with ds active will often go for lockers which ends the chase because you cant slug them and you can't grab them.

Decisive Strike is a non-issue nowadays.....The way it was before......now THAT was a problem. Mah, the change it received so long ago put it it in a spot where it can be useful & strong, but it's not a guarantee use....depending on how the Killer plays.

And I am sick of getting tunneled.

This is the only reason why I use this perk in first place. It is seriously no fun to get hunted to death within the first three minutes of the game, and there are a lot of people who do exactly this. Some people don't understand that getting a 4k as killer or escaping as survivor is not the equivalent of "winning" a match. At least it is not in my understanding. As long as people try to ruin the game for me, I won't stop using my ds, because they pretty much deserved it. And it doesn't even help me everytime, since it is a one time use only and they can continue to tunnel, but at least I can give my teammates a little more time to try to help me or at least getting gens done.

Sure, sometimes I hit a killer with it, who didn't deserve it, but this happens in maybe 1/20 matches, when I even get to use it. And tbh most of the time it is a complete waste of a perk slot, because the killer (thankfully) didn't play completely sweaty and didn't tunnel. And I'm not a person who takes advantage of the perk (like running around as if I'd be invincible, the time runs out quickly enough for me to not to do that. If I see someone behaving like that when I play killer, I just hit and slug them, until I'm sure the timer has ruined out). So I think it is fine where it is now.

People defend DS with "just don't tunnel", but the absolute best plays I've made with DS have been when the killer certainly wasn't tunneling me. Killer's have to guess if you have DS if you're not the obsession, and 60s is a long time to ignore someone in many circumstances.
