Dying Light
Devs can we please make it so Dying Light effects the Obsession, Why should the survivor get a pretty massive buff from a killer perk they know they are safe because you want to keep the perk online and they can fly through gens its mental.

It is a bit weird indeed, that the obsession has to be alive for it to work, the obsession is also not affected by it, hooking the obsession does nothing for it AND it gives them a altruistic speed boost? Okay then...
9 -
They should at least let you keep your stacks if the obsession dies, like STBFL does.
12 -
Exactly the obsession should still be effected by the perk otherwise they just rush everything I am playing at rank 1 and all my games have the obsession rushing gens knowing I cant kill them I hook them twice but that's all I can really do.
2 -
I agree the perk should still have effect after the person dies its even in the name "Dying Light"
6 -
None of those perks give the obsession super healing and gen repair speed though so its not the same situation.
2 -
Dying Light only gives "super" healing speed, not repair.

Dying light is a strong perk but you shouldn't avoid going after the obsession. You still want to put pressure on them. If you find them, down them and put them on the hook. If the obsession commits suicide on first hook or dc's then you just slowed the game down a lot by getting rid of one survivor quickly. It's a win/win either way. You just don't want to camp and tunnel the obsession or keep going after them. Dying light isn't a perk for killers that like to tunnel. Just play normally.
The game becomes very easy to manage for the killer once you get down to only two survivors. So as long as you kill one other survivor before the obsession you'll be good. You don't have to kill the obsession last. You probably won't need dying light the whole game. You just need it until the game becomes easy to manage.

he meants that obssession doesnt care about dying light because they just need to gen speed themselves and they can feel pretty safe because in early killer dont rly wanna target them cuz he wants gain stacks but in late game if he stack enough there is atleast like 1 person dead if it has lot of stacks and if he chase 2nd person dying light has no use since only obssesion work on gen , this perks is higly overrated only because dying light + thano combo

If the killer is avoiding the obession because they are running dying light then they are only hindering themselves. There is no need to avoid the obsession. You don't lose stacks by hanging the obsession unless they die. If you are running dying light it is best to forget you are even running it and just play normally. Most likely you'll get stacks without even trying. It's unlikely that the only survivor you'll find is the obsession.
Dying light is much better now then it was before because before you had to target the obsession and tunnel them until they died. That was actually much more hindering and it encouraged the killer to play toxic.

The buff of "Dying Light" could at least stay after the obsession died.

New Dying Light seems to be a pretty strong perk so it should have counter play. This would be the smart move by the obsession, to just rush gens and/or force the killer to kill them.
Though I will agree the altruism bonus is a bit much if the penalties don't affect the obsession anyway.
1 -
The perk shouldn't stop working in the first place because the perk itself encourages you to hook multiple survivors...meanwhile the obsession is doing gens so fast. So if killing the obsession hurts the killer is unlogical.. The killer will not even have time to tunnel if it's objective to increase token is to hook multiple survivors.

You can pressure the obsession without killing them. As @Steve0333 has mentioned, play the game as normal, and keep track of your Obsession hook count. If you've hooked the obsession twice, slug them instead. This keeps them out of the game (they can't do anything so their buff is irrelevant), and another survivor needs to take their time to go ahead and heal them. Meanwhile you can simply play the game as normal. You'll get your Dying Light stacks, and your obsession will be like any other survivor in the game with the exception that you slug instead of kill them when they are on their death hook.
Dying Light is a niche perk, but that's what a lot of perks are: powerful if they play out right, weak if they don't. Aside from a DC or suicide on hook, you as the killer have full control over how strong the perk will be during your rounds.
Overall, Dying Light is in a pretty good spot in my opinion, as it's a perk that can turn out to be very strong if the killer can make it work. High risk but high reward perks are probably amongst the most well designed perks.

If it does not slow them like the other survivors it might as well be super speed especially with toolboxes and brand new parts.

You all must play killer at rank 15 I am talking about rank 1 balance.

This guy gets it

I mean based off what you said I drew a conclusion one of the best players in the game both killer and survivor shares the views I have on this perk and he is rank 1 with both so I don't hold much weight in what you say. And before you ask its Tru3ta1ent but you will probably say he is bad at the game next.

Tru3ta1ent is kind of right on this one though. In order to use this perk correctly, you need to not tunnel and not camp to make most use out of it. your essentially playing the most fair/unbiased way possible. The problem is that if you play fairly, the game doesn't really reward you as killer for playing this way. in fact it encourages you to do the opposite, to rushdown and kill 1 single player as quickly as possible because you know, if a 1 player is dead, than that's 1 person less on generators/1 less person healing, one less problem. Many killers proxy camp and Slug instead to win as that's their only option. It makes little sense that you playing fairly rewards the obsession with.... 33% healing action speed bonus, immunity to the perk itself and somewhat of obligation to slug the player for the perk to work. I kinda feel like if you hook 5 times, your clearly demolishing your opponent in chases so you should be given upper hand. I think the disadvantages that the perk brings are too large for benefit it gives you such that it isn't really worth it. If some of disadvantages of the perk were lifted, it would feel far less punishing to use. It's just not worth the hassle right now.

Dying Light is a strong perk. A lot of people are trashing it and saying it's a bad perk in the hopes of getting some momentum to get it buffed, but anyone who's played a game with Dying Light + Thana + Surge + PGTW knows how bad it is for survivors when you play like that. You can even put in things like Sloppy Butcher.
It doesn't need a buff.

This ist he problem wtih today's gamer youth. Can't think for themselves and just drink all the Kool Aid from shady streamers who are just riling them up to make a quick buck.

I would say obsession should get the debuffs too then i would be happy it sucks sometimes if you can't do something against the obsession.

I have had alot of give ups while running dying light so the team just falls apart tbh I kinda feel bad for running it 🐷💖

I preferred the old dying light.
Kill the obsession, and boom everyone gets a penalty. The only downside with the old one was that it would take ur STBFL stacks away.
I do like the idea of the Obsession being Altruistic, but then again others are right, the Obsession should be able to be stacked as well with other survivors and killing the obsession SHOULD keep the Stacks.
But that's my thoughts, --Myers Main
(And maybe for each sacrifice it shows the obsessions aura or 2-3 Seconds..?)

Shady streamers? This guy is one of the people that promoted dbd from day one and probably one of the reasons its still popular you are delusional.

I've been pairing dying light with thano and have awesome results. Wont be wasting my time with ruin anymore
1 -
it's a good perk especially on killer who can injure survivor quickly with thana since it's stacks, so i say it's gimmicky but it make some perk more usable with it

Each hook with Dying Light increases Generator time by 2.4s
In a meta where 2-3 gens can pop during the first chase, I feel like it is woefully unnoticeable in the long run.
Sure, you can throw it into "slow down" builds, but any other useful perk is going to carry more weight in most games.

They shouldn’t feel safe. Slug them. Then they can’t heal or do gens. Someone else has to go for them at that point. The idea that slugging isn’t a strategy is strange considering there are slug perks.
run Knock Out, Dying Light and Thanaphobia and it would slow the game greatly.
