Let me know what you think...
I'm rank 1 killer and survivor. But mostly a killer main. (Doctor)
I'm seeing A LOT of people on here complaining about gen speed. When in all honesty, it's not true. Gen speed is fine. Gens are not the problem imo.
The actual problem is the maps.
I use to main wraith. (Before he was buffed) and realized VERY quickly that he is NOT a red rank killer. So I started playing others. But seemed to get the same results. Other killers made things easier. (Nurse, Spirit) but I couldn't get a grasp on what I was doing wrong.
Then I realized it wasnt me. I'm not saying I didn't make any mistakes. I'm saying the reason I was losing was and still is sometimes, out of my control.
The problem isn't gen speed.
It's map design and the fact that survivors have A LOT to use.
20+ pallets. Insta heals. Perks that have A LOT more synergy than killer perks.
I'm not suggesting survivor nerfs.
I'm suggesting map nerfs.
If you had one survivor just run from pallet to pallet (without mindgames) and the rest on gens, 3 to 4 gens will pop before all the pallets are gone.
Some people will say it's gen speed but it's all about pressure.
And depending on the map, pressure will be easier. (The Game) or harder. (Any map with a lot of pallets and windows)
This isn't a rant because I do just fine at rank 1.
This is simply a post to let the "gen speed" killers know what I feel the real problem is.
And to my fellow killers out there struggling... just keep putting in time. It'll all get better.
Thank you.

I agree, as fun as this game can be, it gets a little Silly at times. Random walls scattered around with arbitrary windows and pallets out the Ying.
What would be a way to fix the poor map designs?

I've got nothing to say but that I agree with this.

I agree that map design is a problem
But I also noticed while playing that by the time you find your first survivor and down them, even if the chase wasn't too long, one or two gens have already been complete
Of course with SWF it is worse, even if the individual players aren't that good all the others have to do is work on gens when one is in a chase

I don't like chasing a survivor for 30-40 seconds as a non nurse killer and a gen popping...

I agree to 90%, but I can explain really quick what happened yesterday, I was playing demogorgon and I already killed 1 survivor (he was really not good and died that fast because he hided really poor) on Badham Preschool 3. Now 3 survivors left in the game with 3 gens to do more, everyone was on second hook. Now 1 survivor was doing a gen in the house with 2 floors (I had a portal there). 1 at the school basement with a portal too and 1 in the street in the middle. I tryt to lure everyone from the gens away and obviously the will run far away if I run to them or teleport, after a teleport they destoryed the portals while i was away, i couldnt protect all of these portals obviously and now this situation was funny.
2 floor house gen is done while i chased someone and the chased guy just run from pallet to pallet, you cant do a shred around the loops cuz they are too round, i am not talking about the truck or car pallets, the pallets with the big plants around. 2 gens left, I tried to protect 2 gens on the street and I couldnt do anything because always when I ran or teleport away the will run to the gen that i kicked a few second ago and touched it. So I had to run back and kick it again, only to get touched again. While I was not there they always ran to a gen to keep doing it. This situation just kept going over 10min until they finished all gens and i just ended up having a second REALLY lucky kill. I mean with lucky really really lucky, if I wouldnt be that lucky it would be a 1kill game.
So what I am trying to explain is, even on new maps like badham, yes the loops are all balanced now but in some situations the gens are really getting way to fast done or how I would say is, the "kick" action of the killer is almost useless in most of the situations, so my solution is really easy, A better kick would solve alot of problems for my opinion!
My idea was, the survivors have to perform a 1-2 second action to get the "damage regression" away, its like a totem cleanse action, if you stop doing it you have to do it again. So that stopps the annoying gen tap and run away situation that i explained above. And the second change is (I am not sure about the numbers exactly) but after you kick a gen the gen regresses in a few seconds a few %, increase the regression for the first few seconds, for a example every 10sec 5% is basic and for the first 10sec 10% will regress after the kick and then after 10sec back to 10sec 5% damage. How I said, I am not sure about the numbers but I hope you guys understand what I mean, even with my bad english :D.

Exactly. Like the walls around the houses on Lamkin Lane.
And I'm not sure what would be a good idea. Maybe make the maps have more chances of not having pallets in some areas. And get rid of pallets around big window loops??

This is true as well sometimes.
Theres times when 2 gens have popped before I even get a hit.
I main doctor so it's easy to shut down looping. But that's only if the survivors don't know how to counter doctor. Good survivors will drop pallets quicker. Avoid windows. Every killer has its ups and downs. I still have games where all 4 escape because of bad map design. Most of the time 2 hooking everyone.

I will admit that 1 or 2 gens popping before I get a hook is pretty annoying and makes me wish i brought a mori lol

Well tbh I never have that problem (red rank Hag main)
Although, I do admit it is sometimes annoying how many and how close are pallets. If I couldn't teleport and had bad traps placement I wouldn't be able to deal with all of them.

You play doctor. That's why gens feel fine and maps do not. There is not a universal issue that can be shoehorned to all killers. Huntress can end chases in seconds.

I understand what you mean. I've been in this situation plenty of times.
One thing I do, when I'm not playing doctor, I run "Pop Goes The Weasel" but when I'm not running it, I tend to force the survivors to do other actions. So I'll leave on down and go back, hook them, use BBQ, and chase another. Or just accept my fate lol

I understand. Hag has a different but affective anti loop. Place a trap, they run away from the loop lol
But yes. Pallet are pretty close and they're everywhere.

Legion on big maps with tons of looping areas without ruin is a nightmare :(
cough cough cold wind farm
I literally run iridescent button almost every game just to break pallets faster and keep moving . By the time I catch someone 2-3 gens are done.
I hate using Ruin it always gets pop 10 seconds within the game and I don’t wanna use NOED b/c all totem are always gone at the end. It’s such a waste of a perk slot and it’s a hit or miss with me.

You sound like a typical entitled survivor main lol
Yes. I play doctor.
Does that make it easy? It makes it tolerable.
Gens still can go quick when playing doctor. I'm just good at mindgames and anti looping.
Don't take the fact that I play doctor and make that your only defense lol
Nurse and Spirit are really the only two that can't be looped.
2 killers...
Out of many...
You're missing the point.
Most killers don't have good anti loop.
Wraith and his speed boost? Nope.
Clown and his bottles?
When he first came out, yes. But not anymore.
Billy and his chainsaw?
He destroys pallets faster and in SOME cases, can curve and get the down.
The point is rank 1.
Not rank 10.
TRUE rank 1 survivors are capable of A LOT because they have the maps memorized.
Yes I know the maps change every time. But they can run to an area the has 3 potential pallet spawns and one will be there.
Think what you want. Theres a problem.
It's not gen speed.
It's poor map design.

I tend to use "Post Goes The Weasel" over ruin sometimes because like you said, ruin is a wasted slot. Either it goes down quick. Or survivors just hit the hex skill check.

My build is BBQ PGTW Thanaphobia/Nurses Calling and Bloodhound because I’m really bad at tracking scratch marks plus I get too many survivors with urban spine chill and sprint burst.
But I get big maps and I know I’ve lost.

I usually do Distressing, PGTW, Ruin and Unnerving. Or Monitor, PGTW, Thana, And Sloppy Butcher.
Big maps are hard because theres SO much more for the survivors to use.
People think some maps favor killers because of the size when in all honesty, the survivors just have less to work with on smaller maps. Maps like The Game.
But maps that are bigger give the survivors many advantages. Sometimes mindgames are not an option because they can run from pallet to pallet and not stay at them.
Survivors can keep distance with the killer pretty well. Usually like rank 5 and up.
I play doctor to stop big loops and non mindgame loops.
Doctor gives a 1 up for looping. But killers like legion, wraith... well... anyone but nurse or spirit, are at a huge disadvantage.
Hopefully when nurse gets nerfed, they'll realize what the issue is...
But let's be honest...
I fairly doubt they'll realize...
Look how long it took to get DS nerfed lol
