  • Don't run Ruin to hurt the Gatekeeper emblem (this emblem almost only about of using Ruin)
  • Play Killers unable to get points in Chaser Emblem (one-shoting like Myers, Billy, etc. and play Plague)
  • Use mori's to hurt Devout emblem (Devour Hope and Rancor are good choice)
  • Play for fun (ex: Piggy with PWYF crouching behind the obsession, killers also want to have fun)

4 adwices bcs of which you'll most likely never reach red and purple ranks and you'll be able to play much more strategies.

    Or you just go afk and let the game go as killer lol, dont forgot to look up so survivors cant run infront of you to trigger a chase.

    That is completly new to me, unless you bodyblock someone with that.

    Edit: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

    Here you can read all the ban reasons, staying afk is not here, and why should you get banned for that?? I mean there are alot of reasons to go afk, me for an example, I had to go afk to toilet, ez ban right.

    Going AFK temporarily isn't bannable, but I believe what you're proposing comes under "botting", which is.

    @Fibijean

    Botting is something letting you doing automaticly, classic example is in world of warcraft a bot to farm items, and staying afk isnt botting and doesnt has anything to do with.

    And unless you dont stay afk in almost everygame it shouldnt be a problem, I mean how often do you met a afk killer? xD I honestly saw 2 in my entire 2,4k hours. And they all had a reason.

    But I wonder why do you want to derank? What are the reasons to smurf or play on lower ranks? I honestly kind of "smurfed" by playing and helping out a low ranked friend for bloodpoints but I was bored as hell. I always dominated all games in 1-3min and that was not fun for me and for them so yea, I wonder why you want to ruin ppl experience?

    In-game, this falls under the 'unsportsmanlike' category. A few reports won't be enough to have a ban but if enough reports are totted up then BHVR may take action to prevent you negatively impacting the game for many others.

    @ChiTenshi

    But I wonder why there is no rule for smurfing or deranking actually, in other games it is bannable.

    BHVR don't really bother to prevent smurfing as players have to buy the game and DLC again to smurf. If the game itself was free-to-play, then their stance on the issue may change.

    Deranking is hard to prove and judge. Someone who intentionally deranks can look like:

    • A newbie getting to grips with the game
    • A person having a bad day
    • Blaming matchmaking is a tasty excuse
    • And so on

    If reports for deranking were taken more seriously, a lot of collateral damage would occur as well.

    It's really easy to rank past your skill level and then end up in match after match with people way better than you. It's pretty miserable.

    It's happened to me a couple times, especially when I was new. When I first started, I dominated on Hillbilly until I started running into survivors who knew not to run straight lines in open areas. I'd never really learned any other skills than chainsawing, so I was totally out of my depth.

    Second time was my first serious grinding marathon on Doctor, I cleaned up in ranks where Overcharge and madness were enough to throw survivors off their game. Then I started meeting survivors that weren't fazed at all by skill checks and once again realized how outmatched I was.

    I've never AFKed through a match to derank, I try to give 100% every time even if I'm hating every moment of it, but I will start playing around with new builds or low level killers.

    Or, like this gentleman observed, I start playing Myers or Bubba. Typically Bubba, because he's my favorite killer for blowing off steam due to his simplicity and ease of use.

    im doing point 1 and 4 all the time xd and ranking up (well i know how to play without ruin <shock for most killers here>)

    but when i dont want to rank up im hooking every surv 2 times and alt tab

    Why are people okay with Killers hindering themselves in order to get easier games?

    If this was a “how to” for Survivors to avoid high ranks people would be roasting you.

    The double standard is unbelievable.

    @altruistic well im always talking im keeping myself between 8-10 ranks on both surv and killer to avoid sweat comming from both sides

    and remember when both surv and killer are deranking they do that to not rank up too fast (so killers wont kill unless, and surv will just enjoy game) but remember most killermains here are extremely selfish so double standards here are popular

    but tbh i like to play vs players that deranked on purpose, its less chance they will bring broken af stuff (because in most cases that makes them rank up)

    "AFK" is reportable in the after game report section. It basically has its own category.
