In horror, there is the classic trope of the final girl. The last girl alive that escapes the nightmare and lives to tell the tale.

Although there is no escape from the entity, if just one girl was strong enough to survive the trials and find a way out of the void, who do you think it would be, and what makes you think they are the final girl?

    It's always the "normal" girl. The one the most people can identify with so lets narrow it down.

    It's never the "nerdy" one so Nancy and Claudette are off

    It's never someone overly abrasive so Feng is out of the question

    It's never the "popular" girl either. No Jane, No Kate.

    Our remaining options are:

    -The Rebel: Nea

    -The Athlete: Meg

    -The Babysitter: Laurie

    The rebel tends to be used to set up the last survivor. To give them a will to live rather than be the survivor themselves, but they do sometimes turn out to be the survivor. Her odds are still lower than the athlete or the baby sitter though so I'm going to scrap Nea.

    The athlete tends to be an airhead who dies early or the true survivor because they're the only down to earth female in the film. There is pretty much no inbetween here and it's about a 50/50 shot

    This leaves the Babysitter, unsurprisingly as the true survivor as they're always the most identifiable survivor in the movies. The most human, the most believable, and the most sympathetic due to their role as a gaurdian of what's right.


    This would mean that Laurie would usually be the one I'd vote for but I decided to go with Meg since I feel Laurie was too obvious and too easy of an answer and horror films do enjoy the bait and switch.

    Nancy is wholesome; that's like the biggest requirement of being final girl. She helps protect the kids in Stranger Things.

    Claudette's too nerdy. Nea's a criminal. Jane Romero is a celebrity, which is a death sentence. Feng Min would get killed being selfish, trying to look out for herself. Meg is the one who would volunteer to run to get help, which would get her killed. Kate's my fav girl, but the tattoos mean she's doomed. Laurie is the symbol of toxicity in this game for bringing in original DS.
