To all my DBD Toxic Survivors...
Please don't.
Seriously, some toxicity is expected, but the butt dancing needs to stop. It's all fun and games, until I body block a killer to save the lives of you and the person who saved you from a camping killer, but when you butt dance at the edge of the exit gate, blocking my escape, then peace out while I've been knocked out by the killer, maybe then you can grow up and quit butt dancing already. Just get your butts out so I don't have to worry about running into you after saving your sorry butts.

Shame we won't get a new season...

Anyone else think Xena was hotter in that series than in her own series forever ago?
0 -
@Weck True. And remember when he thanked everyone for the petition to Netflix to revive the show, but said he was retired from playing Ash?
He announced several months ago that he and Sam are expecting to do an Evil Dead 4 movie after all.
What I want to know is: Will it somehow continue from the show? That would make sense, because they finally got Ash into the post-apocalyptic future, which was the original ending they wanted for Army of Darkness that the studio would not allow them to do. So, Ash vs Evil Dead finally got Ash to where Bruce and Sam originally wanted him.
Plus, well, it would be sweet to see Pablo and Kelly again, too. Since Ash was heading off to see what had become of them.

@Attackfrog Yep, without a doubt. I'm 47, so I was in my 20's when Xena and Hercules first ran. And she was way hotter in Ash vs Evil Dead.
1 -
I feel validated now! Thank you...I just thought I was a weirdo!
2 -
Well...I never saw Xena... so I'll take your word for it. XD

Nostalgia take me back
3 -

I mean, yeah she's hot in that series (I watched it as a kid) but compared to her role in Ash vs the Evil Dead....
now THAT'S a woman!

@Weck Below is a little bit from YouTube, just to see Lucy Lawless back in the 1990s.
Both Hercules and Xena were done by Sam Rami, who created and did the Evil Dead franchise with Bruce Campbell (they are friends since they were teenagers), the original Toby McQuire Spider-Man trilogy, Darkman, Quick and the Dead, and other stuff.
Bruce even guest starred in both Hercules and Xena as Autolycus, the King of Thieves. Matter of fact, he often had a guest shot in most of Rami's stuff, including those Spider-Man films.

that's cool info (Not being sarcastic).
Lucy Lawless was also in Parks n Rec if I'm not mistaken as Ron Swansons new wife in the later seasons.
not sure what this has to do with any of this but just fyi. She always plays that sort of no-nonsense -strong-female. (Which she definitely pulls off). Shoes even better at it as she ages.

Ah I take a break from this place, come back, and always see the same types of posts.
Never change DbD community. Never change.

I’ve watched Hercules and Xena in full. :) I was probably twelve or thirteen when I watched it, they put it on Netflix for teens like me to watch. :D
1 -
we will never stop talking about how hot Lucy Lawless is, don't you worry!
3 -
@GrootDude Oh yeah, I forgot Netflix had them at one point.
To be honest, I didn't watch a lot of Hercules and Xena. At that point in my life, I was actually working on Highlander: The Series, which ran from 1992-1998, so was busy. I worked on Seasons 3, 4, and 5.

I haven’t heard of that, I don’t watch much tv anymore, I only have one show I watch and I’m waiting on more seasons.
0 -
@Attackfrog Yeah. It was the style of character when she was on X-Files as well.
0 -
highlander is great. Both the series and movies, but if you're younger you will have to get over the BAAAAD special effects (well, not bad, just dated). It's a sci fi classic and the theme song....AMAZING!!!
2 -
Been so long since I watched the x-files... kinda feel like watching it now.
2 -
Here's an idea. How about I play the way I want to and you can play the way you want to. Deal?
0 -
@GrootDude Highlander was a bit before your time, unless you caught it repeated on Netflix or Hulu when they had it.
It was a huge franchise in the 1990s, including having had its own best-selling CCG, which I did some work on, and a never-released table-top RPG, which I also did some work on.
They used to also hold themed cruises every year. I was on the 1998 one.
2 -
Whoa...she was on X-Files too!?!? Wth am I missing. I need to go rewatch that!
2 -
I don’t mind out-dated special effects, if it’s on Netflix I might try it.
1 -
especially since Lucy Lawless is on it lol.
1 -
The movies are really long but the story is really pretty cool...and at the time unique (until Twilight sort of copied it). Some things might seem cliche now but they were new at the time lol.

@GrootDude It hasn't been on Netflix for a while. Hulu did have it for almost two years, but it left there months ago. I think Tubi is running Highlander: The series right now.
The first two seasons were a bit weak, in my opinion. It really started to shine in Season 3. And despite my earlier post, that had absolutely zero to do with me working on it. That just happened to be the season where Adrian Paul, Jim Byrnes, and other main actors were finally allowed to have creative input into their characters, and started putting pieces of themselves into them. And that was when the show really started to shine. Both the acting and the storylines vastly improved, and continued to do so for Seasons 4 and 5.

I never watched the movies, but I saw the memes...does it count? XD
1 -
Good thing I’ve never watched twilight lol
1 -
I don’t know any of those people xD sucks that it isn’t on Netflix anymore.
0 -
Memes are like the Cliff's Notes! Of course that counts!

@GrootDude Tubi. Is. Free. 😁
1 -
Wait, where was she on X-Files? I haven't seen all of them, so careful w/ spoilers, please.
0 -
oh God I wish I could say the same!!! I pretended to like it so I could take my wife to them in order to woo her!!! Worst mistake of my life (watching twilight, not my wife haha)
What has been seen cannot be unseen....

Groot confused 😂
0 -
thanks for that. I'm going to look those up!
2 -
@GrootDude Tubi is a streaming channel like Netflix, Hulu, et cetera. Last I checked, Tubi had Highlander: The Series (as of a month ago, anyway). Tubi is free. No subscription fee like Netflix.
1 -
XD I’ve always heard that it was pretty bad
0 -
Thanks for the tips on X-Files. Yeah, didn't ever go all the way to the end (not sure why, but now want to when I'm caught up w/ Stranger Things).
0 -
Never heard of it until now, thanks.

so much money spent to make such terrible movies. So terribly terrible in just about every way. The books were mediocre tennage/adolescent novels and not terribly written (Not as good or well written as Harry Potter series) but the movies were blech
I wish Riff Trax would do the twilight series. I'd pay double what I paid in theaters to see that.
0 -
I’m a tennager! :O I might like it!😂
1 -
lol you might! But you're probably more intelligent than the movie's target audience. The books weren't terrible, though, just not quite as well written as some of the other big young adult series. Even the hunger games was written well where it really felt like you were seeing these things through the eyes of a 16-year-old....not a middle aged author's IDEA of what a 16-year-old might think.
ANnyway, give em a watch! Everyone has their own opinion (my wife loves them)...but don't blame me when you want to stab your eyeballs out!
0 -
I loved the hunger games, books and movies! I felt like I was in that arena while reading the book.
0 -
@Attackfrog Always remember that the mere existence of Twilight also gave us Fifty Shades of Gray since that crap originally started out as Twilight fan-fic. 😂
1 -
Exactly! I read them when I was thirty and still enjoyed them! They were well.written. If you liked them, you might like the twilight books.
A student of mine recommended Harry Potter to me when I was 32...I was adamantly opposed and finally gave in. I was really amazed at how the books were intended to grow with the reader (first one is very kiddy...then gradually become more mature). If you liked hunger games you might also like Harry Potter. I know how it sounds but by the time you reach the end, you might be surprised. The movies do not begin to compare to the books.

I liked the Harry Potter books but hated the movies
1 -
oh god...I don't even want to get started on that female-patronizing garbage....probably one of the few things that are WORSE than twilight!!!
It's refreshing to read that someone else also thinks it's garbage and patronizing to women (under the guise of empowerment)
