Be honest people, how many times did you see survivors cleanse all 5 totems? It is a very rare thing.
I think I am biased.... because I play SOLO survivor and I do... I cleanse them all. And when I use Inner Strength I notice my teammates are wildly cleansing them too. I'm lucky to get 1-2 heals out of a match. If that.
Also. If my team is powering thru gens FAST, I do totems. If the killer is playing a CERTAIN play style... I do totems.. Like if the killer is letting gens get done, not pushing people off or acting like he doesn't care, maybe he got zero hooks and we are on the last gen etc. IF the killer has not been hooking people... There's certain signs that tell me,,, hey... I should be safe and cleanse them or make sure they are cleansed.
I'm not sure what ranks you are playing at, and maybe there is a discrepancy, but this is what I have noticed in playing as survivor. And it's just not as big of a deal as I have grown and learned the game more. If there wasn't such a simple and doable counter, especially making the perk completely unusable as you can do it before it becomes active even, I would probably be on the side of making a change. But the fact is, there is an easy counter. You just don't want to do it, so you will have to deal with NOED instead IF the killer is running it.
Saying things like you are just too busy doing other things.... like those are just excuses... I really don't see the issue. If you care that much. Make it a priority. You don't want to? Then don't. Deal with the possibility that he could have it. MY best advice is, pay attention to the play-style and put in effort when you notice or think he has it, or tell yourself hey do I want to deal with this at the END of the match? Start cleansing, or hope you can get the door open in time.
I mean it's like saying you don't want to clean your room because you are too busy etc. But you don't like it dirty... it ain't going to clean itself. There's counters to everything...
top killers can use it and get kills they didn't deserve.
I think this is the attitude that is the issue more than NOED. I suggest stop acting like a judge and jury over a video game, and let things happen. Win or lose, don't take it personally. You will enjoy it much more and not get so upset over this stuff. Someone DESERVING a kill or not, is not up to you. And whether you personally dislike the way they play or did something, as long as it was within the rules, it was acceptable. Just let people play how they want to, if you disagree that's fine. But I hope you aren't going after them in chats for it. Just GG or hit the leave game button. There's always another side and perspective people don't always consider.

Yeah well Iโm not always playing swf so I canโt always tell my teammates what to do. Your wasting so much time searching for totems and the killer might not even have it. And when your teammates are hooked well too bad Iโm spending half the match looking for totems. The only reason you should cleanse totems are to counter Noed, use inner strength and bloodpoints. I think we need a secondary objective that will actually help us escape.

Actually what happens is players play the game without three perks... and get their benefits anyway.
These are: NoEd, BBQ, and Nurse's.
Every survivor plays as if these three are in play, so they cleanse all totems, waste time going into lockers or closer on hook, and never heal near the killer. (Well exceptions exist some survivors don't give a damn and just loop).
Similar to how killers now will always leave you lying around on the ground instead of going for the hook, because they assume you have DS.

I don't think NOED is that great. Hex perks are very unsafe, to be honest (except Haunted Ground). Everytime I play with killer I always caught a survivor doing totens. They know how important are against NOED, even in the red ranks when NOED is not that popular. So yes, NOED has a counterplay and you or your team have time enough to prevent.

Why do so many people think a Killers job is protecting gens? Read the name. Killer. Now, wait until it's your turn to use the brain cell today and think. Killer. Killer.
Where in the name of the Entity do you think that implies gen protection? A Killers job is to kill Survivors. If a certain Killer wants to play for points than they can have at it, but aside from that all gens are good for is finding Survivors and slowing the game down.
Survivors job is to survive. They cannot accomplish this task until they escape the trial. Repairing gens and opening the door means nothing if they don't cross the finish line.
If you don't have the foresight to cleanse totems and get free points (more BP in case winning the game isn't working for you), that's not on the Killer. You just need to git gud scrub.

There is always a chance if you are doing totems before endgame that the killer doesn't have it. If you don't want to cleanse and wait til endgame, while I am running around doing gens I always look around for dull totems. Just knowing where those are, and if they do have NOED you know where to look and cleanse it. I personally don't think it's a waste because of the extra points and now a free heal when you need it. I've spent a crapload of hours in this game now, I usually find totems easily (lately broken ones... darn you inner strength *screams in silence * anyways....)
Maybe its the play hours, I used to feel the same way kind of. But now... it's just second nature. Once you get the "signs" and I don't know.... You just know what you should be doing. If NOED was unbalanced AND annoying, I'd be in agreement. But it isn't, especially with more reasons to cleanse now.

It IS a scrub Lord perk. But I am starting to understand the sentiment behind it. Especially if ur playing a low tier killer against SWF groups

Why would a omega blink nurse deserve a kill with noed? If you play that bad in the first place you don't deserve a free kill with one perk.
Never said you have deserve a guarenteed escape after all gens are done :)

That's just a matter of opinion, no matter how much you try to declare it as fact.
I can very easily with just as much evidence state that if you can't get all the totems down, you're a terrible survivor who doesn't deserve an escape.
Who's right? Neither - game only understands rank up or rank down. It doesn't care how you achieve it.

DS and NOED both have always been one of the most horribly stupid perks, but they are not gonna get removed im afraid. Probably will never be properly balanced either so guess we'll just have to live and die with it.

Yes it is my opinion. I just don't understand how people can expect survivors to cleanse all 5 totems against nurse or spirit.
Dead hard is one of the easiest countered perks :)

It isn't against strong killers at all. Noed never even gets disabled in like 95% of the matches.

noed is easily countered with any killer.... you literally hold M1 on a totem for like 10 seconds and you just destroyed one totem..... do that 5 times in total and you just countered noed.... do you not know how to play the game?

Just like a killer will slug someone because they "MIGHT" have DS (even if they don't) so too must survivors cleanse totems because the killer "MIGHT" have NOED.
Its about adapting to the match and playing around possible problems. If your team rushes gens and the killer doesn't have NOED then you guys took a risk and it paid off. But if the killers does have NOED then your team took a risk and suffered the consequences.
You said yourself "I haven't seen a single game of killers without using it" so why are you still getting killed by it? If its that prevalent in your games then break the totems and it becomes a wasted perk slot.

I would love to see you try cleansing all 5 totems and escaping against nurse.
I'm not saying it is hard to cleanse them. You don't have time against strong killers. Cleanse totems against nurse and you won't have time to do gens.

It's not a secondary objective. In order to be a secondary objective it has to be done in order to open gens and escape, which is not the case. Stop with these false informations

If killer gets more than 1 kill out of noed thats survivors fault. What I do is that I cleanse well hidden totems that I come across and leave the easy ones incase there is noed.
That said I dont mind people using noed and I dont personally use noed as I prefer perks that let me find survivors or end chases faster.

and here we have the underlying problem in a good many survivors, you go into a match with a defeatist mentality like that and no wonder you complain a lot. You also have no good argument so you use what ifs as false proof that something shouldn't be a certain way... this is literally a you problem, not a game problem.

When I started to play this game in Feb 2019, I played only Survivors because I like sneaky, and didnt like playing Killers because they just walk around slashing others.
Yes, Noed is dangerous (and Ruin is also really annoying), so I had Small game in loadout as my default. All that half a year play only Survivors, I never have problem with Noed since I have Small game. I dont have friend to play with, but Im WILLING to play '3 perks' that I want, and 1 perk that make sure Noed will not happen, or Ruin should be cleansed fast.
If Noed still happens, I will try to search Hex with my Small game before the victim's hook timer is out. If I cant, hes dead, I escape. Sometime I die in progress, no big deal, just 5000 bloob point that someone doesnt care about points.

Totems give good points, and give some to your team mates (if one is being chased). I donโt understand what the issue is since itโs so counterable and takes a little bit of time between each gen to do.

If you don't care about ranking or emblems, and also don't care about points (not exactly you, but I saw something like this here) and ONLY care about Killing/Surviving.
Why complain about NoED when the Killer uses a emblem and point hurting resource to Kill you ?

Totems are part of your objective; therefore, you failed. BHVR said this when they added emblem points for doing dull totems, and increased the BP as well. Learn to play.

no i don't want a detailed convo about what i'm gonna say with anybody...what tunneling is...
ds doesn't mean you are a bad survivor it means the killer is tunneling, which makes killers bad cos they have to go after the injured when it should already be easior for them to catch other survivors. also sometimes killers get annoyed when you in long chase, they hook you... get unhooked, then they come straight after you, so you can't get chased for long. meaning get punished for doing well!

So instead of doing something that be would pretty easy and goes by really fast unless killers protect them and since alot of killers except hags trappers and now freddys dont really bother to protect totems or at least go out of their way to protect totems and try to gen rush got it

Im a killer main but everytime i play survivor i cleanse every totem i see even if they dont have ruin because noed is a way of punishing survivors for gen rushing which is probably one of the worst parts of killer so asking for whats probably the best way to try and stop gen rushing to be nerfed when the way to prevent it is very easy shows that you either havent played killer or havent played much of killer to actually understand how much it sucks when you get gen rushed

Survivors already get punished for doing gens as fast as possible. You don't get as many bloodpoints because you don't get points in other categories.
