Why no different mask on the new Myers skin?
Don't get me wrong, I love the body design.
But really? Not a new mask? That would make the skin x1000 times better. Is there a reason behind this weird decision?

because he doesn't have any other mask

LOL
You couldn't be more wrong.
Even if he hadn't, they could've created an original mask like they did with pig.

The William Shatner mask is all Myers ever wore.

He wore a different mask on every film. All of them were white, but very different in shape if you paid attention. Rob zombie's films used another 2 different masks. And on the new Halloween film he used an old one.
8 -
and a different hair color too in some movies :P also still want the old looking mask in the 2018 version.
2 -
They could maybe have had the mask from 2018 or the mask from Halloween 2 where he gets shot in the eyes and blood pours down the mask. Honestly I'm just happy we are finally getting new cosmetics for Michael and Laurie
7 -
Maybe the difference in mask design wasn't worth dishing out extra money for it to be chosen.
I know a few of the Myers masks look very similar. I expect another one to come, maybe they want the recent one and they're still in talks about it or something.

After Halloween 2 the original Michael myers mask had already deteriorated too badly from age and mistreatment to be used again. Even by the time of Halloween 2 it was noticeably changed from age and poor handling. Every mask since has been a recreation of the original 1978 mask, ableit at times radically different due to the attitudes and wants of the film makers and mask creators. Halloween 2018 is the only Halloween movie since 2 that has tried to completely recreate the original mask's design ableit with it's own differences such as weathering to recreate aging. In many ways it's funny how despite only appearing in one movie, the original mask is still the most remembered and iconic of all the masks
I guess you can't improve on an already great design
14 -
I'm guessing because its all still from the 1978 movie much like Laurie's new cosmetic. It may be the only movie they have permission for right now.

If only Laurie's face could be more of Jamie Lee Curtis...

not exactly he did wear this for a time #4 i believe it would of matched the hospital outfit a bit better imo
14 -
ah there you go and hes actually wearing hospital gown too did no one else remember this from #4?
13 -
It's a shame H4, H5 and H20 were good movies but those masks tho 😕

Still hoping for ghost Myers, glasses and all!

Can't forget that the masks also looked different due to the way they sat on the actor who played Micheal's face compared to Nick Castle, the original Micheal Myers.

Same.
And give up Dr. Loomis!

If the cosmetic is based on the brief scene in Halloween 1978 where he escapes the Smith's Grove sanitarium and steals the station wagon, then technically he shouldn't have a mask at all, as he hadn't stolen one yet. However, if it's based on the gown he wore at the beginning of Halloween 4, then he should be wearing the bandages over his head. Assuming that the DBD Halloween chapter was based on the 1978 film, and Laurie's leaked cosmetic is also from the '78 film, I think it's safe to assume this gown is indeed from the beginning of that film as well. My guess on why he has the same mask is maybe because they thought people who haven't seen the films wouldn't know it was supposed to be Michael Myers. Still, if in the future they can ever get the rights to do so, I'd love to see the other film versions of Michael, especially Halloween 4.

Because license holders

Maybe they're not allowed to.

bro he does not have a new mask, literally, only a body piece and 2 weapons.

@BlueFang I hate how goofy the later masks look. I didn't like what Rob did to the story, but atleast his mask didn't make Mikey look like a clown.
1 -
yeah that's why I'm complaining m8, because he doesn't have a new mask
BTW 2 weapons?? Oh I didn't know that, I hope they're cool

I thought H5 was awful. One of the worst. H4 was decent. H20 was really good.
0 -
actually i think its 3. a new knife, a screwdriver, and a pipe.
1 -
He has many different mask designs actually... Rob Zombies take on him gives an entirely new design to his mask, while the 2018 Halloween movie gives a more gritty and aged mask.
Technically, they're the same mask with a different look yeah. So you're technically right in that regard.

The only one I would like is the new movies design as it could go well with an old man Myers skin and it's so close to the original just weathered.
The iconic mask for me has always been the original and most of the others feel kinda cheap and don't have real Myers look about them.
It's like going online and buying a replica from the original compared to buying a cheap one at Walmart.

ok i worded that poorly, he does have different masks, but they're all barely any different, it wouldn't be worth 400 auric cells just to buy the same mask just slightly different, maybe a grisly withered mask would work tho

I liked the H4 mask, but I was introduced to Halloween via 4. It still has an odd Chinese looking quality about itself. In any case, Star Trek people or Shatner himself were the ones who contacted the producers and specifically asked them to stop making the mask under the guise of Shatner's facial musculature, so they had to change it.
H5 was the Nicolas Cage mask. It was okay, but the neck needed to be tucked in. Now the creative vision was that the necks opening had to be visibile because the audience was meant to contemplate Michael as a human being, instead of his "Shape-ly" form.
H7 was damage control mask. It's fine.
My favorite Halloween's ranked: H4, H1, H2, H18', H5 for top 5 in that order. WOrst is obviously RZ's stupidity.

Skins are only worth as much as the buyer perceives them to be worth...
By that I mean everyone sees the worth in something differently, that's why others would argue that if those masks came out that buying them is worth every auric cell... while say... someone else would argue that its a waste of money.
I mean... if the 2018 mask came out i'd buy it in a heart beat, cause that masks looks cool to me, and its personally worth it to me. To others, it may be different.

Every mask he's had after the first two movies has been a cheap replica... Not sure why they messed that up but that's how it was...
The Rob Zombie version was the best take on a aged and decrepit mask (Until the 2018 version came out, taking over that throne)
But as for masks that were supposed to be the same as the original... they did a poor job with that for a lot of the films. For what reason I don't know, maybe because of licensing issues with the original mask, maybe because the art director couldn't produce anything better and time was scarce... who knows.

Yeah the 2018 mask is a thing of beauty. Best since the original. I'd love to see it in the game;
1 -
Yeah you could see a huge difference and I always wanted them to fix it as it just didn't look like Myers should to me.
I am glad they decided to do the last one and take if from the original story and expand on that.
On a side note they are filming the new movie around 20 mins drive from me in downtown Wilmington. Jamie Lee Curtis is down there and one of my wife's friends were sitting on their porch watching as Myers walked down the street past them😁. They are using the area and local building for hospital scenes apparently.
We are going to try and see some of it tomorrow!

That's cool, i'm honestly jealous and wish that was my hometown being filmed as the next spot for the next Halloween...
Take some pictures for me please, i'd love to see them 😉

I forgot how ######### the halloween 4 mask was... damn.

It's dumb luck on my part. First year here and they are filming this movie!
I will definately try for some pics if they let us close enough and I can use the secret camera 😉.

Jamie Lee Curtis was just spotted on the set the other day. So keep your eyes pealed.

Sounds good! Hope it works out for ya, and you'll maybe be able to see some of the best parts or something.
Or at least see Myers or Jamie Lee.

Some press pics out there atm.

Won't let me access it. Says request was blocked by security rules?

According to James from the deadmeat channel (go watch his halloween killcounts btw) the guy playing michael is super nice(assuming it's the same guy from the 2018 movie), he might take a picture or sign something if you ask.

Maybe it's region dependant. You could maybe try copying the link and pasting it in the browser.
I'll certainly ask and use my Scottish accept to try and persauade them lol.
Fingers crossed!

It let me use it.
Nothing on Jamie or Myers though, it looks more so about just the re-creation of haddonfield, and the hospital.
Where exactly is this being filmed btw? you mentioned downtown Wilmington being where you are, and that its a 20 minute drive from there, but where exactly is it being filmed?
Man, if I was there i'd ask. But sadly I'm not :(

It's being filmed along N. Front St. and at the corner of Walnut St. and Water St.
Around the areas below 😉.

Wish I was there :(

I tried it on different browsers. I'm in Ireland so maybe its a region thing.

I think it would have been cool to get that bloody and bandages head as a cosmetic piece but they probably weren’t able to negotiate that with the license holders.
0 -
probaply because license holders said no...

Wat

Tbh, I want the one from Halloween 2 as his Bloody Mask.

There's always the possibility that they're still working on a matching headpiece. I mean, as far as I'm aware, this is a datamined skin which hasn't even been officially announced yet. We should probably wait to see what the developers actually release before speculating about missing headpieces.
