Uh guys, the purple insta-heal hasn't really changed
The purple insta heal addon still gives you a free hit in chases, why is everyone saying it was nerfed?

for 15 seconds...

It's a bit subjective, true. I think it's mostly that, although you still get a free hit, (a) that freedom has a timed expiry on it now, and (b) most importantly, it doesn't change the health state, which means you can no longer use it to quickly get someone up off the ground. It can basically only be used while in a chase now.

That's enough time for a killer to catch you. If they hit you, you just get BT effect so it's still a free hit in chase

True, but BT doesn't go down in chases, so it will still feel like a free health state to killers. I dunno, using it feels like a free hit still :/

The purple add on will actually counter insta down killers now. I can think of so many situations where I would rather have endurance than be fully healthy, even if it’s just for 15 seconds

It's an extra heal state they need to heal if they get away.
Frankly, I'd be inclined to chase somebody else myself and let them waste time mending. Time mending is time they aren't doing a gen.

pretty sure it's like mettle of man endurance with no mend

You also have to use the heal early. Can't save it till after you used up 99% of the medkit then pop an instant heal for late game. This often gives the Killer a chance to see it used and thus an ability to react to the endurance shield unlike before. Franklen's to force an item drop, waiting it out, or just burning through it. Mid chase heals/shields are still strong, but still have counters.
The real problem that the change effects is picking someone off of the ground. The Killer can't do anything against that. A Killer can't even interact/pick up someone being healed on the ground still. To have someone else just come in and heal them instantly after you already spent time chasing/downing to prevent a hook is just not fun nor fair.
Instant heals are now intended as a mid chase shield or a quick heal of time while you do something else on top of it. No more after the fact get out of jail free crap.

I personally won't use them unless I run into spirits. I want them to experience the amazing counter play of making a guess if I popped it while they are phased.

Seems like a Deep Wound from what I've seen. Maybe I need to check the vids again.

You mean the purple instaheal hasn't changed just because it no longer instaheals?
By golly, you're a genius! Why didn't I think of that?
1 -
Could save it til the end of the game and use it against a Noed killer and still escape, could even be more powerful in some cases.
2 -
No need to be rude geez. People like you ruin conversations
5 -
Base Mending time is so low so it doesn't even matter, leaving them would be a good choice back when you actually needed self care to "mend" and it took longer.

Look, you say silly things, I say silly things.
It's a nerf no matter how you look at it. There will be a few cases where it's better (like against instadowns) but in most cases it's worse. It is a nerf.
2 -
because it was nerfed .

Here's a question: What happens if you equip both Styptic and Syringe onto the med-kit? Do you get both effects when you activate the secondary ability of the med-kit?
0 -
No it won’t. Not sure why everyone is saying this. You can’t use a medkit unless you’re injured, so you’re not going to be able to apply the styptic agent to avoid the instant downs. Unless you’re already injured.
1 -
You have a counter at least. Wait 15 seconds. Not like the previous insta-heal that you can heal yourself without any skill. Jesus I'm glad it was changed.
1 -
So basically speaking the Purple item is now much stronger than the Red Synrige because with that one you have to not be hit for 8 seconds
With purple you get a free BT
FRANKLIN's TIME or PLAGUE TIME!
Or FRANKLIN'S PLAGUE TIME
1 -
i personally disagree. i think it has been changed immensely due to the delay that its been given!

Boy howdy, I can't wait to combine this new styptic with dead hard to extend all my chases.
...wait
0 -
Slow down there buddy, no need to be extreme here.

The purple one is more of a lateral move to me. You gain the utility of BT in a bottle. But you can't pick up survivors anymore.

It wasn't really a nerf to instas. I mean as killer you got a counter to it now like BT, that's kinda nice. I would've prefered smth like 4 seconds for the iri and 8 seconds for the rare to heal. And guys, medkits got a massive buff.
1 -
Its a nerf in general use. It could be seen as a sidegrade if against an insta down but with conditions. You have to be injured and within 15s of being hit.
0 -
This is like a Tucker Carlson argument.
0 -
I'm so sorry, I got a little radical for a moment there.
0 -
Well yeah obviously you have to be injured first. What I mean by that is let’s say you are going against infinite tier 3 Mikey, and you have the purple insta, as it works now if you used it it’s not going to help you since being fully healthy doesn’t help against insta downs, but the new version will give you endurance which will prevent you from going down. (Yes I know it’s only 15 seconds but still)
0 -
survivor just want a brainless second chance and abuse it in swf
2 -
Sure, that’s a good specific scenario where it’s better. But I still see a lot of people just repeating “it counters insta-downs” when that’s not really the case.
0 -
Just like BT, killers can just chase you and wait 15 seconds
0 -
Doesn't go down in TR
0 -
With the way Insta-heals have been changed they should no longer give negative effect to Medkits or deplete Medkits on use. THis will just let the killer know oh ######### he gave himself a BT
1 -
It is a mega buff as far as vs Insta down killer.
However, on its own it forces the survivor to mend.
