Accidentally killing the survivor i just unhooked.
So uh.. this happens to me a lot.
I try to unhook a survivor. The killer hits me and im now in injured state. As the killer swings again i instinctively hit dead hard and no-clip through the survivor i just unhooked and they get downed. I always feel really bad whenever this happens, but i also cant help but laugh.
Anyone else do this too?

You should really consider running Borrowed Time if these kind of situations happen to you often.

If you are unhooking teammates right in front of the killer that is not an accident. That is called intentional farming.

Yeah... run BT or wait for the Killer to leave.

The fact that you find it so funny says this is not accidental at all. If you spend more than 40 hours in this game, you would know why you shouldn't do it or how to prevent it. Unless you want to farm people.

Honestly, this looks more like a dickmove than anything else. At least I would feel like that, if you would unhook me, Dead Hard so that the Killer hits me. Looks like you are trying to lose the Killer this way.
Either run BT or dont unhook anyone when the Killer is nearby. Might be funny for you, but not for the guy who just got unhooked and might die because of it.

You can't accidentally kill a survivor by unhooking right in front of the killer. You are either being a bad team mate or a troll

Don't forget some people spontaneously become 🥔 survivors

Generally: Stop unhooking your teammates in the killer's face if you don't have BT. You're being a bad teammate.
Specifically: You performed a risky unhook and committed to tanking a hit for them, and the hook victim still didn't get away? Why did your teammate stick around?

and that's why you use borrowed time no one likes farmers

Because the unhook is just short enough so killers cleaning animation can insta down the unhooked survivor before they can take a step if the unhooker dead hards away thus removing their hitbox so the "rescued" can be downed again

Yeah, that's a solid "your teammate was stupid for unhooking you in the killer's face" scenario.

I mostly keep forgetting that it takes a second for the survivor model to fully turn around so i dead hard too soon and go in the wrong direction resulting in a failed block.

Heh, I would really just not unhook the guy at all in that scenario, without BT. If I were the guy on the hook, I would NOT want you to unhook me.

So. It happens to you " a lot ".
You "feel bad" and also find it funny.
And you continue to do it.
Normally if someone feels bad, they don't continue to repeat the thing that makes them feel bad. Which makes me think you don't actually feel bad about doing it in the first place.
Regardless.
Like others said you can use BT, this way when you dead hard and save yourself from a hit the unhooked teammate can tank the hit and have some chance to try to get away. You can also stop using dead hard as you "instinctively hit it", replace it with anything else... You could just not unhook in front of the killer (which was mentioned as well.) You could work on a gen, for a period of time passes, or once you see the killer found someone else, you can go in for the rescue easily, as he is clearly distracted then etc.
Like... I don't see what you are doing as an accident I'll be honest. Just don't do it... and it won't happen to you... I'm not really sure what else to say...
Edit: I guess you could also just take the hit and get downed. Maybe have unbreakable and pick yourself up as he may go after the unhooked person as well. And you get to pick yourself up. etc. If you are using WGLF this gives you an easy 2 stacks. Safe hook rescue and unhook. Also you lose points for unsafe hooks which is what this is considered.

If you're unhooking in the killer's face unnecessarily (i.e. the hooked survivor isn't about to go into the next state/die and you're not the only other survivor left on the map) and you're not running Borrowed Time, you're a bad teammate. If a killer goes after someone I just unhooked, I go out of my way to try to take the aggro and get them to chase me, instead.
I'm not a great survivor by any means, but when I mess up, I feel bad, I learn from it, and I don't do it again. I certainly don't keep making the same mistake over and over again and go "oops" like it's out of my control.
Not trying to be rude, but what you're doing is completely preventable. Being hook farmed by a teammate is extremely frustrating; my teammates shouldn't be just as dangerous to my survival as the killer.

I've "accidentally farmed" a Laurie once. I was the obsession with Rancor, not only did the Laurie used Decisive, I was still able to get a safe hook bonus (profit).
I even made a meme about it.

I...don't actually know how I feel about that. On the one hand, you are kinda farming your teammate. But on the other, not wanting to be the Rancor target would be a strategic reason to try and get a teammate to pop DS. On the OTHER other hand, what if you pull a stunt like that and it turns out that the Laurie isn't actually running DS?

Good question, I just had a feeling that the Laurie had DS but if the Laurie didn't have DS I would have been a "the c word" for no reason. I don't remember the game well but I'm pretty sure I was using borrowed time, so not too bad. Although whilst it worked I consider it the most evil thing I've done in game.

There are times when I screwed up and misjudged a killer's distance or underestimated his ability to see me and end up unhooking the guy as the killer closes in. But those are screw ups on my part and not "accidents."
And if you're trying to tank a hit for the guy you unhooked deadharding while you are running in the same direction is not the way to do it.
