Any reason why the Hallowed Blight stuff and serum is on the rift?
Last year we got serum from getting the juice from those gross squishy plants and by hooking survivors on the gross squishy hooks. Any reason why this year its instead behind completing challenges in the rift instead of just through gameplay.
Imo it was more interactive and fun last year and more incentive to play the game during that certain time period. I'm just curious as to why it's now different and will future events also be a part of the rift?

Probably to prevent people from trolling. On one end, you had people who would farm plants as soon as they loaded in, then find the killer to suicide on first hook and repeat. Youd also have people who would sabo every event hook they could, just to be petty.

To not be tied to an event so that people with work can also earn the serum. This way you can earn your serum for whole 70 days.

Is the serum really available for 70 days? That's pretty dope if so. I thought it would be in the rift for like a week or something then be gone after

I think devs said so but Peanits would have to confirm to be 100% sure. But I'm quite certain that's how it's gonna work.

Yes that's how it'll work.
There are pros and cons to this change.
My least favorite con is that now the events will all follow this trend and won't be special events.
They're essentially "bonus" bloodpoint weekends since you need an offering to gain the bonus bloodpoints. It's not even double :/

Well one theory I have is that it keeps the player coming back to the rift. I think people would be more likely to buy stuff if they see it more/it's on their mind.

Event hook sabotaging was already fixed, but the suiciding was a big issue. You literally couldn't play normal match at all, everyone was killing himself. At least the first days till majority maxed out.

True, the event might not feel like an event. I just hope that the theme ingame will be good with new designed event gens (like bbq summer event), event hooks and hopefully even more. Since we skipped the summer event there is more potential to have more stuff

They want you to play with their new gimmick and hopefully get hooked into buying a premium track and perhaps all the tiers as well.

I think if you want to get all 60 serum, you need to complete the rift.. which is difficult and unrealistic lol

If they put in the Rift and the event, people would probably complain they can't keep up with both, especially since events change how the game is played.
