I honestly feel like console dbd is worse than PC

-FPS is low

-AutoAim bugs

-Sensitivity being super slow at max

That is some of the things I can name out of all the possibilities

Why is console so awful when it comes to gameplay?

When is optimization arriving?

Why does my FPS drop my a megaton when I play Demogorgon?

Probably cause console releases weren't a thing they thought of when making this game.

They didn't expect this to have this many consistent players, so they also were fine with just using P2P.

I'd say because pc has better hardware. But this game isn't that complicated. Or demanding graphics wise.

I agree, I used to think that they're working on it but no one seems to bother.

Thats because it is, consoles are capped and are held back by their hardware limitations

I don't even consider these the main reasons console is worse.

PS4's playerbase has to be the shittiest playerbase I have ever seen on both sides. Hard camping, tunneling, instaheals galore, BNPs and Green Toolboxes most matches.

A map offering is burned 70 percent of the time either by the survivors or the killer.

I don't think anyone on PS4 has ever played this game at it's base level or as close to it as possible. There's always something that is played to try to make the matches completely unfun for either side.

I have literally almost given up on it.

Well @alienschmalien if you need a friend on PS4, I'm around. There are a ton of stinkers but I try my best to have fun and succeed more often than not.

I like playing on Xbox. Just wish they'd fix tue infinite loading screens and NAT errors. Other than that I love the Xbox more than PC.

I play PC and console and in my mindset I'm asking the same questions...

But for real they were supposed to be working on the fps every patch and now they seem to have dropped it.

As one who owns PC and Xbox DBD console is worse than pc... Many of the killers are way harder to play on console for one. Also consoles suffer a lot from the dreaded auto aim... More SWF due to being able to invite people on the spot to parties... There are a lot more reasons why PC is better as well.

Isnt it like that for every other game?

I think it mostly comes from dbd not being well optimized for consols. I dont know the real foibles of how games are ported, but I suspect that the coding in consol versions of dbd aren't very fine tuned/polished. They focus on bugs that arrive in updates instead of focusing on base issues like frame drops or hit boxes. Which is understandable but will cripple them in the long run.

Not to mention console does suffer with aiming sensitivity but thats more of a general problem with consols than a dbd issues. You just cant get the same level of sensitivity and control with thumbsticks compared to a mouse. Although I will says dbd feels very, very clunky even at full sensitivity which is Annoying because its harder to 360 or hit survivors on a quick turn.

In general I think dbd consol players face relatively normal issues when it comes to consol vs pc but the issues with the game itself just make them a lot worse. Which is why i hope if crossplay is implemented its swith/ps4/xbox only because the pc playerbase has superior movement.

Xbox version is ok, performance issues every now and then.

Im saving for a PC though so I can get the premium experience, not looking forward to doing the grind again 😔

Who said console was equal to or better than PC?

  • I play it on my Scorpio but I also own the PC version and dabble in it.

Frames are not even comparable. Way better on PC. Much quicker loading as well.

I wonder if when the next gen XBOX and PlayStation come out if the performance of DBD will be better.

The game is just very, very poorly optimized for console.

when Demogorgon first came out my fps was... very questionable, i felt so nauseous and dizzy after trying to play him for one match.

DBD is poorly optimized on consoles, there's not even that much of a difference on a PS4 pro lol so I wouldn't expect any difference on the PS5

I'm so glad I'm seeing more players talk about the frame rate issues, once you have played several matches in a row.

I initially thought it was my system (newer) but remembered I would play on my original PS4 for several hours without any incident, throughout last year.

So thinking it was my console overworking, I started closing the game every couple hours, letting it rest for about 30 min. Than I saw other players mention doing the same as a fix, minus the extended rest. Now I just simply restart the game to get the frames back in check. Still annoying. Have the dev's even mentioned this as a temporary fix?

"a map wide game stutter that happens whenever someone opens a chest"

Oho, I think that's the first time I see somebody else realizing that this is happening. 👍️

We know that more demanding games like Overwatch or slashers with nice graphics run well on consoles. In theory, it should absolutely be possible to have a nicely running DbD on consoles.

So why is this not happening? Either the devs put other things on priority or they can't/don't know how to improve the performance. Which other reason could there be?

Bringing the game to consoles was a mistake, if you ask me. I can see why they did it though, even in the game's utterly awful state. More players means more money.

Current and Next-Gen aren't the same pair of shoes. DbD was originally developed as a PC title in 2016 and with Mid/Low-Budgets PCs in mind, without considering the hardware perfomance of curren-gen consoles, especially their weak CPUs.

Next-Gen consoles will easily be stronger than the pc specs DbD targets, so even in the worst case scenario, when they don't optimize it too well, they should be able to brute-force and acceptable perfomance out of it.

Doctor is HORRENDOUS on console! It's like 20fps on normal maps and 15fps on maps that have rain effects. No joke before I switched to PC I had this one match where I was chasing a Kate on Red Forest and when I swung to hit her the FPS dropped to 0. I missed so many times because of that. I ended up having to switch to his other weapon skin (the one without all the electricity on it) and that was a bit better but it's still unacceptable.

Lagging skill checks if the killer blows a fart in your direction. Survivors able to disconnect entire match if the pull some PS4 menu crap. Fps lower than my enthusiasm after getting hard camped countless matches in a row. Console is great.
