Really starting to hate The Spirit
Leatherface used to be at the top of the list of killers I hate playing against, now Spirit is at the top. She has the ultimate mind game strategies and her only flaw is that she's a bit slow. Her passive phasing add-ons makes her even more confusing. Idk, all I go against are majority Spirits and I'm just getting tired of it.
One side of me wants a phasing start-up animation from the survivor perspective to know when she's using her power but I know DBD players will probably hate that to even the playing field.
Any good, respectful tips?

She has a few giveaways that better than me survivors can notice: her shards on her body glows (other cosmetics could cover this), her animation altogether resets, and if she's using the original hairstyle it's super obvious. Here's a few timestamps where you can try to catch a few of these. Sadly I couldn't find any where it was straight out fake-phasing at a safe pallet:

It's not really because she's really good its because her power in general is really annoying.

Spirit when phasing will shimmer and sparkle. I tried getting a good picture its sadly not, but I'll attach it below.
Her hair when she starts the phase animation reverts back to the start of it's animation. It does appear in the picture.
@S_Panda has gotten some good timestamps and I would suggest looking into them. They took the time to get these to help people.

Yep becoming way to common lately. They can be mid chase with a wounded person and they come flying back.

@S_Panda I looked at all the clips and I did see a slight animation change. If you weren't looking at her or blinked your eye, you might miss the animation change. And sometimes I don't catch her body glowing, especially if she's wearing certain cosmetics. Gotta look out of that next time.
@DudeDelicious That happens more often in my games against Spirit then you think. Instant tunnel once she put pressure on the survivors.

Use "Spine Chill". It's one of the best perks against spirit and literally all stealth killers.

Honestly dont get why prayer beads keeps being the focus. I get gen grabs are a thing, but they dont help at all DURING the chase since they only nullify an effect that is played while outside TR. If your probably with the killer is the chase... Prayer beads isnt the only issue.

I've always hated Spirit. Every single one I go against either camps or tunnels. Except for maybe ONE OR TWO, and one was because they basically were destroying the match so hard they let the other two farm with them, and the other one actually just played fair.
That said, I have been having the same issue with Huntresses lately. They're all dicks. Just had one camp every survivor, I lagged and got grabbed off an unhook, left on the ground, had Flip Flop fully charged and she just followed me throwing hatchets at me on the ground and swinging her stupid ass axe until the entity took me. I was on the ground for probably 6 or 7 minutes(because the last survivor who was actually alive didn't open the gates for a bit, then opened it and left). Note she didn't even know I had Flip Flop.
I just hate all meta killers. The ones playing them are usually #########, except for Billy's. Those guys are usually actually pretty decent guys and play well to boot.

honestly i dont have a problem with spirit. the real thing that bugs me are my mates and the player behind the spirit. usually the team i get queued up with cant handle spirits and so they go down like flies.
spirit players tend to tunnel or play with nasty perks on her. i dont think its necessary to play noed and ebony on her. just my opinion.

My main issue has always been Prayer Beads. If I am not running Spine Chill... I literally am a free down with no counter play anytime I touch a Gen or one of her totems. I will KOBE these matches typically once I am caught. There is literally 0 enjoyment about getting grabbed off gens by a invisible Killer and the player behind her is obviously wanting and seeking a easy mode 4K match.

I can't take you seriously when you say that you hate leatherface who is one of the worst killers in the game. No offense, but you are clearly new to the game and I think not more than rank 14. My advice is, play more killer and survivor and then come here to cry for nerfs.

Someone can hate a Killer and their play style even if they are weak. I hated old Freddy as he was just tedious to play against and really was a 0 skill Killer with some glaring faults both as playing him and playing against. Even though he is a lot stronger, I do prefer facing new Freddy over old Freddy. Liking or hating facing them isn't entirely based on their power level. Do you even play Survivor?
Leatherface is a weaker killer, but his kit does make him the most mindless camper. So he often attracts those players and has a bad reputation due to this.

You are so wrong. Your mindset is that survivors just hate everyone who is powerful, when in reality survivors hate what they don't find fun going against. For example I don't like clown or trapper even though neither is that strong, but I love versing billy and the huntress.

It's not about him being weak. The thing leatherface excels at doing is camping. It's not hard to figure out why he is annoying.

Oh no! A killer is good! And has high lethality! NERF IMMEDIATELY WE CANT HAVE SURVIVORS DYING! I play surv, I HATE spirit too. But she should not be nerfed heavily. Maybe some survivor QOL changes to make her more tolerable.

I think the game would be faaar more balanced if survivors would hate going against any killer the same way.

- No Collision: Fine, it would raise the skill cap of spirit. I know the concerns that experienced Spirit players might use it to run through them and block safe spots, but that's fine as well. We don't want to gut Spirit, we want it be fun for both sides. Making smart plays is fun. If it gets annoying the player could even get a short visual indication, when she runs through you, if that isn't too much.
- Omnidirectional grunts: Hard to say. The way she can track through grunts is problematic, because how inconsistent it is, when you consider perks like Iron Will, Stridor etc. On the other hand using audio cues to track survivors is what makes her unique and fun to play. It's an important part of the game feel for the killer. So messing with it is tough. Something should be done for grunt-detection, but not too much I think.
- AddOn-Rarity-Changes: Mother-Daughter-Ring is a good AddOn and it should stay ultra rare. And changing Prayer Breads rarity doesn't change anything about the AddOn at all. Or why it's annoying. The entire AddOn needs to be rethought in some way.
- Power-Recharge-Delay: Not sure about that either. There was a good reason why people wanted her power cooldown buffed in the first place and that's because it wasn't fun to wait for your power to recharge. A killer wants to use their power. And her base-kit recharge and cooldown is fine honestly. It's mostly her other AddOns which push these things too much in my opinion.
So in general I have to disagree with his proposed changes. He don't even adress the main issues with the killer, why survivors complain. It's the lack of feedback she gives. As much as this effect is wanted, it's problematic and frustrating to some degree. And let's not start talking about passive phasing, which serves none of both sides to make the game exciting for them.

I feel like the collision part would also help with the big reason why people HATE prayer beads, which is the gen grabs. If you cant use collision to determine which position a survivor is at around a gen, it becomes alot more of a gamble to pick the right spot to try to yank someone off of a gen. Of course, single person gens exists, but... it would definitely help on other gens.

as much as you may hate the spirit, you have to realize that as common as she's used, there is still ways to have fun against her.
sure, it could be annoying to be tunneled at some points, or going against prayer beads (personally i find prayer beads fun to go against due to not being able to hear her approaching via "whoosh", makes it all the more suspenseful?), but if you know what to look for + what to do against her, you can mindgame her and escape her quite easily.
spirit is the type of killer to make you work hard for the escape, and that's something to admire about her, as most killers don't really have this trait unless if someone is super good at playing as them and has the correct build or add-on pair. she isn't overpowered like people think she is [aside from the whole add-on debate], and is meant to be a pretty challenging killer to go against in the first place. It’s more on the player than the actual killer.
Hag- Spams all 10 traps at the hook.
Wraith- Cloaks and stands behind a wall behind the hook and waits.
Hillbilly- Same as Spirit, comes flying back as soon as unhooking starts.
Trapper- King patroller of the hook. They will walk in circles 20 meters away from the hook.
Leatherface- ....let’s be honest, we all know.

This is actually the bigger problem.
The main problem with spirit isn't necessarily that she is incredibly difficult to win chases against. It's that Spirit players tend to be nasty tunnelers.
There are two killers I have noticed in the game whose mains tend to use them to tunnel. The first is Spirit. The other is Wraith. Now, all killers can tunnel, yes. But for some reason these two killers seem to attract the worst tunnelers in the playerbase.

I mentioned it elsewhere before but no collision would be weird in the off chance spirit happens to land INSIDE a survivor at power end. Would she remain collisionless until outside? Would either of the 2 people suddenly warp to fix it? If so what happens if she's between the survivor and 2 walls?
I often hear that 'good' spirits don't use grunts and welcome iron will users without using stridor so this change wouldn't mean anything to them.
I really can't say anything about prayer beads as I'm a spine chill perma-user / don't own spirit but hear survivors constantly say rarity change won't do anything, it'll just make the spirit have to farm more BP to make sure they have enough. If anything I'd switch the father's glasses though personally.
This could be good against those people who like to constantly go in power for half a second to fake out but that's about it and would be a direct nerf when they had buffed her cooldown on release I believe.

No collision with survivors: I agree that after awhile spirits will just get stronger in the long run.... theyll solidify their own "spirit tier".... itll be a nerf in just for just a short period and then the buff willhit like a freight train...
Omnidirectional audio: this one I found the most interesting... but with the audio is in this game.... how it consistently gets broken every 6weeks or so I dont see how this could happen either... plus for whatever reason whenever there is an adjustment in the audio it effects EVERYONE.. like this wouldnt just effect spirit it would be trapper, doc, etc... so this I dont see happening....
Imo: make a nurse like kit for her.... maybe slightly faster at base movement, like 105% and adjust the cooldown and duration of her phase so that she can depend on her power more. This I feel is the way to make her more difficult yet not gut her..

Okay.... what if prayer beeds took away collision for an additional affect?.... Imo the removal of collision at base would be a buff rather then a nerf or "QOL change" this would make her more "annoying" then less...

How would removal of collision be a buff rather than a nerf? It removes one of her options to get a cheeky kill for hitting your collision. Granted, in my eyes, prayer beads should not exist to begin with but saying collision removal is a buff when i had multiple times where i got downed due to being hit by an invisible collision doesn't add up imo.

It would hinder the players for a short period of time.... right now survivors can body block their injured, reach "safe zones" because spirit has collision... without collision the spirit will be able to phase right through an get the injured survivor no worries, phase through the survivors and meet them on the other side of the pallet.... it would be much more annoying to deal with then now... at least theres tell tales and counterplay to her in her current state..
