Killer's are Survivors Play Things

I am legit almost done with this game. Match after match I get nothing but ######### rankings of Higher Rank Survivors. Then I'm facing Survivors that are just complete asses in the game doing nothing but sitting on gens and crouching and hiding the whole match. Quite literally either I suck at this game enough to not find survivors quick enough or this game is in total favor of Survivors that killers are just play things to Survivors these days.

I know that Survivors have had their nerfs but I think killers have it bad right now. Survivors get free wins basically running base perks like Adrenaline, DStrike, Borrowed Time and other second chance perks to escape at the last second. Meanwhile killers only goal is to hunt smash a survivor twice and hook them and then wait for someone to come and fish them off the hook. To me this game needs to branch out on more objectives on both sides killer and Survivor. Survivors need something else to do other then sit on generators and hide, while killers need to also do something else besides be looped around an infinite that still hasn't been fixed by the Devs.

I'm just getting so bleh at this game and the fact the Devs lack proper responsible choices and priorities its making things even worse. I just wish that the game was at least properly balanced and helped the killers out a bit more then it is. But then again devs focus on making Survivors happy because Entitled Survivor's opinions matter more then killer mains.

If you think killers "have it bad now" then you might want to read up on the history of the game. Things are better for killers than they ever have been.

Absolutely. I can tell you (as a former survivor main for a straight year and a bit) it's EASY to play survivor. Sure, there's a few lessons to be learned but pfft, how hard is learning to run around in a circle, press a button, run to another area, run in a circle, press a button etc etc.

There's a reason the hate flows in as soon as a killer can stop their bs. You can't help but get a cocky attitude when you play survivor because you can almost feel the struggle of the killer and although you realise what you're doing takes little to no brain power it makes you feel quite good. (Some will try and tell you looping is skill...yeah no) Especially when playing with friends who are equally as knowledgeable (notice knowledgeable, not skilled) of map layout, loop spots, gyms etc because then the killer truly is a plaything and their presence is more of a nuisance than a threat.

I've been there, I've played with other 'high rank' survivors and I can tell you without a shadow of doubt 90% of the toxicity and sulking on the forums spawns from 'I just died and I can't believe how stupid I am for dying in a game that I could play with one hand, blindfolded, sipping a Mountain Dew and all at the same time I'm doing coursework for that project I should have handed in last week but I was too busy hitting up the forums with the 100th post about Spirit this week, boo hoo.'

Can't believe I used to be one. I have showered many times. They don't make water hot enough.

Yeah if you genuinely believe the devs intentionally cater to "entitled survivor mains" you're probably better off quitting, as in that case you'll most likely see "crimes" where there are none no matter what they do that can be considered reasonable.

It could just be me not playing the game right, idk. But my game play varies from time to time. One Round I'm a master killer slaughtering potato survivors, the next round I get is a toxic SWF with one flashlight and three toolboxes and the game is over in five minutes. I dare not run Noed because I'll get bitched at for using a killer perk to my advantage, and I dare not use Ruin because its useless after cleansed right at the start of the game. I've replaced Ruin with Corrupt Intervention because its basically like Ruin but without the hex needing cleansed.

Other perks i run usually are Enduring and Spirit Fury and of course BBQ is mandatory for those extra points.

  • Well then how do you explain the recent debuff of the Nurse? Survivors whined about ti so much devs finally did something about it, we'll see a Nerf for Spirit here pretty soon mark my words. They don't want to piss off the Survivors because the Survivors is the main player base of this game. Piss off the survivors lose half the base of your game.

Nurse is extremely strong and the "nerf" won't really change her all that much. It will allow you to be able to actually use add-ons for once. Aside from that spirit probably isn't their priority killer to balance. Also if you're losing games constantly without getting any kills you're either not playing as efficiently or the survivors are extremely skilled at looping. Also like people have said killers used to get looped by survivors in the infamous infinite loops. Those were fun times.

Survivor is easy if you forget you're working on a team. Your team is as weak as its weakest member. A 3 against 1 is only possible with solid players and killer misplays. Forget 2 against 1. If your teammate DCs, oh well. Too bad about that cake 'cause the killer's just gonna slug for the 2k he definitely earned from people DCing at the start. Wanna play the game and get points? Want to get other categories other than bold? The killer has something else to say. Would you like to get saves? Farmer Jake already on that person. Would you like to go through that window? So would the rest of your team, I guess. And first, please, 'cause god forbid they get smacked from healthy. Everyone else going down immediately? YOU need to go for saves (and in possible unsafe areas) or risk everyone dying and losing pips. You got hooked for the first time? Death hook. Doesn't matter if you were the one saving everyone all game. You get to end game 'cause everyone died real quick? The doors spawned right next to each other and hatch spawned on killer or killer found it first since they're faster and don't need to stay out of sight. You can only loop for so long during end game and you likely won't have time to open any door if you're found and end up losing the killer. Makes me wonder how you always get good teammates that survivor is walk in the park for you. Honestly it can be quite stressful and annoying. Especially when it's somehow your fault someone from a swf misplayed and they all have to tell you how it's your fault, etc. Toxic SWF is awful to run across for solo survivors. It's always the random's fault, after all.

Survivors arnt being an ass by hiding from you. One line in the post made me giggle though. " Quite literally either I suck at this game enough to not find survivors quick enough or this game is in total favor of Survivors that killers are just play things to Survivors these days." Its the first one, your tracking needs work. My tracking skills sucked too when i was new, but with experience, you'll be able to find and start chases with survivors quickly. I recommend trying out the perk whispers, and maybe watching afew youtube videos on how to use it effectively.

Why do you care if you are going to get bitched at for running a perk? Turn off end game chat and play the build you find the most fun. You don't need to cater to survivors fun when apparently you are miserable.

They are doing their job trying to survive... don't whimp out because you are scared of what they will say after the match is over... so do your job as killer... and kill with the perks you chose.

Because having something in your game that is in a top tier entirely of its own is generally something developers of multiplayer games want to avoid? They mentioned addon changes long ago by now, and the "problem" addons that were mostly complained about (omegablink, 3 or 4 blink no downsides combos) reduced the skill requirement of the killer that's supposed to be the "hard but rewarding to master" killer of the game. I'll happily admit I personally would be totally fine if they didn't touch her base kit, but her power is still in a tier of its own, albeit harder to use. And the "Ding!" as she gets her blinks back need to go or nurse players are going to go crazy at hearing it all the time 😄

Similar things could be said about (soon to be old) instaheals and old BNPs, instablind combos and all the old iterations of Decisive Strike. No amount of artificial "rarity" or ""difficult" skillchecks" could justify the power they offered.

There's things that need work for sure, like reworking maps, buffing weak perks/killers, adjusting strong perks/killers, potentially keys and moris, but they can't do them all at once or we'd probably be twiddling our thumbs for a year or something waiting for a big megapatch, which isn't their content release philosophy at all.

Hi Yama, I think I read somewhere else in a different thread a while back that you are an amazing Cannibal player, maybe Groot mentioned it?

Watched your clips and had 2 questions come to mind I was wondering you could answer for me..

    1. What rank were those videos taken at? Or against roughly what rank survivors? (Because I usually play killer in Rank 6-10 and Cannibal was one of my first Killers for BBQ but I stopped playing him once I reached around Rank 13 and never went back)
    2. Could you possibly share your Perks for using him and maybe any quick tips? I would like to try him out again under the proper circumstances, now that I am better at the game than I was before. - My biggest issue playing Cannibal was finding survivors back then to be honest, not sure if that would still be an issue any longer?

You should try Solo Survivor if you think Killer is bad. Good luck surviving even 25% of your matches from D/C allies, no gen repaired allies, and sweaty Killer running the strongest builds and tunneling.

Then I go Killer and spare 2-4 people cause it's just laughable easy in comparison. Yes, I'll go against those sweaty 4 man SWF here and there... but most matches I feel overpowered.

I find good teammates a lot at purple ranks and we can usually get a lot of points and do four-five gens.

    OK.

Well, I think Lery's, Game, and Underground Laboratory would disagree with that.

She's pretty much unplayable on those maps against someone with Iron Will.

  • Why do you think I'm still Rank 16 as a Survivor with 1,500 hours? I play solo all the time because I'm not going to do SWF unless I'm invited too one usually. Why do an SWF and be a hypocrite about it as killer?
