Why would you ever revert this change?
A while back, a change was made to where SWF would base it's matchmaking on the highest rank survivor. That way, the killer would be comforted knowing they were always going to go against people of their level. But apparently that's no longer the case. Now I'm facing full SWF red rank teams in mid-bottom purple ranks. I was even getting matched with red ranks when I was still in green ranks. Those situations should not exist. So you tell me: Why couldn't the SWF fix have just remained in the game? Am I the only one who wants it back?

I'm pretty sure it's still there. What you're getting is another change to matchmaking so you aren't waiting 10 minutes for a match. You can match with people +/- 6 ranks of your own so if you're purple that means you're at the highest 8 I believe?

The change wasn't reverted. There just weren't any other survivors for you to play with at the time.

I'm rank 7 killer. They were all rank 2 survivors, 3 of them with items and strong add-ons. My Trapper didn't stand a chance, not like the devs care.

I feel for you, but the devs can't control how many survivor players are in the game, other than making sure playing Survivor isn't a pain in the butt (which it is).
They're not helping the situation by continuously nerfing survivors over and over, so less and less people are playing Survivor these days.

There's not enough solo queue kid candies to go around. Somebody's gotta eat the red rank broccoli bunches.

They do care or they wouldn't have implemented the new system at all.
With the matchmaking change it will over time look up to 6 ranks either side of yours if no one at your rank is available. This is to save people waiting for a prolonged period for a match. It widens over time so you can at least play.
There are some issues where it goes further than 6 ranks and if you see that happening report it so they can figure out what's wrong.
