Okay about this update post.
Okay so with all do respect and honesty why didnt you just tell us this from the start this was by far one of the most vague posts i have seen from the devs yet to put it simple its "we ran into problems and we are fixing them." Well honestly i dont think that left anyone shocked you told us that already.
Maybe its just me but the post felt really vague

What do you want from them? If they had gotten into nitty gritty details, you'd still be here complaining. It's a cluster of issues with an engine update; this conveys pretty much everything that laymen will find useful.

I mean no ones complaining last time i checked they asked openly for feedback so i gave them my honest opinion it felt vague but okay i guess.

My thing is they wanted to force people to play The Rift and what not so they tied their biggest holiday event as a horror game to it. That was their first mistake. They should have just kept them seperate and that'd save them a lot of the pain of hearing people complain.

I think they posted all they needed to. They're hard at work making the update as best as they can. They can't put out a completely broken update. We're getting everything eventually. Just gotta be a little patient.

I'm still just sticking with the fact that trying to push this huge update at the same time as the event was a terrible idea. They know by now a big update could have huge problems, and you know, could have pushed it back to November to let the event run its course first. Now we have a really vague post saying there are problems and they're fixing them, and most of us are now left to assume the worst in that we either will have a Halloween event at Thanksgiving, or maybe even no event at all. But hey, the new skins are available in the store for cash in the meantime if you want to blow 10 bucks per outfit to actually use them before Halloween...

Dude, we understand bugs happen in video games. But since 2016 every time something is added or changed in this game MORE bugs are added. They constantly refuse to fix several bugs in the game (not being able to heal as an example). It's almost like they didn't test the new content until the day before release. If they had tested it sooner, as in a week or two before release, you would think a dev team with half a brain could have it fixed before release. I've never seen a game that constantly creates so many bugs like this one. It's a joke that every other game out there has their Halloween event going on now, but DBD more than likely won't have theirs until AFTER Halloween.

I get what you're saying, and I do think it was a mistake to tie a time-sensitive calendar event to the launch of a major new system. I think this is the root of why a lot of people are THIS upset about this particular update.

Dude... literally every game gets a million bugs all the time.
The Dbd team is small, it takes time.
Also, you are clearly underestimating the time it takes to fix issues. Specially issues caused by a change in the engine

Hold on there bud behavior has 100+ devs thats not small thats decently sized its no Triple A but its still pretty big for a dev team.
5 -
i don't mean to be disrespectful, but can't we all just take it how it is and call it a day for right now? i'd rather we all at least just watch and see how it plays out instead. ;w;
sure, the devs may have made some mistakes, but just because bhvr has a team of 100+ doesn't mean that they all actively work on dead by daylight. they could be working on other projects as well or on other things that have nothing to do with dead by daylight as a whole.
2 -
And game freak has 146, outsources some of it's development and everyone agrees is way too little.
And remember, those 100+ guys aren't working on the same department. There's programmers, artists, etc.

Yeah but you cant call that small there are companies out there with 4 devs now thats a small team.

Just because ants exists it doesn't mean chihuahuas aren't small too

Customer relations is a very complex field. I'm sure Peanits can tell you more about it, but a company's employees can't just say whatever they want.
There's a very complex structure in most companies so you can't give out press releases without the leadership and marketing departments approving things. that's how it needs to be even in smaller companies like BHVR. People who just say things carelessly can lose their jobs, just as easily as the words leave their mouth.
It's not unreasonable for them to delay their official communication until they've properly thought on it.
Of course, the later they give an official response the worst it looks for them, but it's not like they were on radio silence the entire time. BHVR did their due diligence to communicate to us that there was a problem. Don't beat them over the head for it.
That said, I don't give BHVR any points for missing Halloween for their Halloween Event. This is something we've come to expect from BHVR. Sorry, but this Dev Team borders on incompetent to be honest. They already know what a huge problem their last Engine Update caused and like gluttons for punishment they went ahead and did it again, right on the eve of a very important and huge update!
They only have themselves to blame for this debacle, and they deserve ridicule for it. Not for the lack of communication, but for their sheer mismanagement of the game.

When it drops all you butthurt people will vanish and play the game just as much as you are playing it now, that said there's no law to prevent venting so please proceed

And if history is anything to go by, on the day of the patch after a few hours everyone will be back here complaining about a whole legion of bugs and other problems.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if the update hits without any major problems. A few dozen minor bugs are a given and isn't even in doubt, but I bet there will still be quite a few gamebreaking issues even after the patch is released.

Hey guys we're going to give you all an update on Friday evening..
"Cuts to Friday"
Yeah we're not done yet and we have no idea when the update will be ready...

I rather not play a broken game so delay away BHVR.
Also turn off dedicated servers for the same reason.

With how fun the event was last year ... One of the best, or else it was the best

Its very clear by what they have detailed there is still alot to fix and they don't work weekends so yeah doubt we will be seeing it next week 😢🐷

I didn't feel that it was vague. I got the impression that they were trying to give us as much information as they reasonably could, and personally I learned a lot from it:
(a) They confirmed that the original plan was to release the patch and event together (which we all assumed but then their original tweet made it sound like that hadn't been the plan after all).
(b) They told us exactly what they've been working on all week - engine updates, backend updates, etc.
(c) They went into specifics as to what some of the major issues were - issues with textures, Hag bug, etc.
(d) They confirmed that the event will still take place (I've heard some people suggesting that they might cancel it altogether).
(e) They implied that things may not even be ready next week, which, while disappointing, is good to know.
(f) They promised to give us another update early next week (so probably Monday or Tuesday).

Dunno about you, but i dont care if theyre vague, that just means theyre more focused on fixing the issues than worrying about social media responses...
Id rather a working update than a broken one wouldnt you?

The status update they provided this morning could have easily been said three days ago when the delay was announced. Nothing in the status update is something that they couldn't have said at the time.
How is it in anyway good to keep your community in the dark for three days after delaying the most hyped update of the year? Surely the issues outlined in status update weren't sudden problems; they had to have known about them for a while. If they had've alerted us to the delay days in advance, I doubt people would've been so upset about it.

"To sum up, the team is working very hard to get the issues fixed as soon as possible. Issues like these can be unpredictable, making it difficult to evaluate when they can be fixed. We do not want to rule out the possibility of having the update ready next week.
Thank you for your patience and to everybody who participated in the PTB and reported these issues. We’ll be sure to follow up on this early next week. We’re as excited for the update as you are and we hope to have it available soon."
What did I understand from this?
- Halloween event after Halloween no longer seems like a joke.
- They themselves do not know anything, even when they solve problems.
- They do not work on weekends if they report that they will begin to solve problems next week. It was possible to work hard this 2 days off and pay overtime to employees, but no.
3 -
now we just have to wait for the event to be brought by chance next week
0 -
So we wait another week does it honestly matter?
they deserve there time off.
overtime shouldn’t be mandatory.
id rather it done right then rushed.
