Same... and even then I don't think I'll see it... itll have to be the best Star wars movie ever... that is not possible imo... not with Disney in charge anyways.

An actual good star wars movie will be welcome by many for sure :) ... but Disney holds that back I feel.

    I don’t like Star Wars

I always thought it was overhyped. It's basically like watching C-span in space. It's all politics and fights between factions :/

Star Trek is more entertaining because it's just adventures in space.

I won't be seeing it. I've always been a big Star Wars fan...grew up with the older movies, collected the figures, lightsabers and vehicles, played the games, etc. but I just can't stand these new Disney 'Star Wars' films. In fact, I never went to see Force Awakens, or Last Jedi (thankfully), Solo, or even Rogue Squadron. Sure, I've seen the reviews, and watched the trailers and a few clips, but that's all I need to see of them. As far as I'm concerned, their not even Star Wars films.

They're just typical modern day sci-fi action movies with Star Wars slapped on them. The reason is simple...the story of Star Wars has already been told. It's the story of Darth Vader. It began in 1977 with A New Hope, and ended in 2005 with Revenge Of The Sith. There is nothing before or after that to be told, because simply put, that is the whole story. Even George Lucas, the man who created Star Wars feels this way, discrediting anything that is created outside those original 6 films, and I agree with him. Any other movie that comes along is just making stuff up to make a quick buck, but not from me. I know this may come off as sounding super hardcore Star Wars nerdy, but that is how I've felt since Force Awakens was announced.

I completely understand why people say they won't be seeing Rise Of Skywalker after the huge let down that was Last Jedi. It's always happened over the course of film history. When ever a franchise puts out a really bad film, people are very unlikely to go watch the next one, even if it's a significantly better film. Same situation here, and I'm not surprised. For what it's worth though, I do think Rise Of Skywalker will be at least a little better than Last Jedi, I mean it has to be right?

Star Wars has become a pile of PC crap.

The Last Jedi, starring Pez-necked Laura Dern was the last straw for me.

Check out Eric Butt's latest Star Wars reaction on Youtube. Good grief.

It's the same with the new Terminator film. Out it comes...aaaaaand consume.

There's being passionate about a franchise and then there's the fans who will have a breathing fit over any old twoddle the studio serves to them.

So no. I won't be seeing latest Star Wars.

The last movie I properly saw in theaters was Solo. Let that sink in.

No, I will not. Outside of Rogue One, the Disney Star Wars films are pretty mediocre. I liked Solo more than Force Awakens, but neither are great, and I, while originally mad, am SO grateful I didn't go to see The Last Jedi. Everything Disney touches nowadays falls apart due to politics.

Agreed. Rogue One is the only good Star Wars movie that Disney has put out. The rest just feel like a cynical cash grab with forced politics, awful plotting and terrible characterization.

    I will see it.

But I have 0 expectations, but i doubt it is possible to make it worse than the last. We will see or not.

Honestly, I expect big things from Skywalker if I'm going to see it. The Last Jedi was a big disappointment, and I'd rather wait to see it, if I do at all.

Not sure how they would recover from that mess of a story.

You know, after watching both The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens, it occurs to me that we still know almost nothing about MaRey Sue's motivations or goals.

Why does Rey fight for the Resistance? Why does she want to become a Jedi? The best answer I've come up with is "Because the plot needs her to".

What is Rey's goal? What does she hope to accomplish in life? As far as I can tell, the closest thing she has to a goal is "Helping the Resistance and becoming a Jedi seems cool, I guess".

Say what you will about the prequels, but at least Anakin has an actual motivation for turning to the dark side, and an actual goal to pursue in Revenge of the Sith.

Litterally no character background or progression... shes the same character as she was when we first met her.... just more powerful and it makes 0 sense

Yeah, but I have to ask, "Why would a scavenger from some backwater planet care about the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance? Why would she willingly risk her life for a cause that has had nothing to do with her for most of her life? Why does she actively seek out Luke Skywalker for training?"

Luke can answer all of these questions: He cares about the conflict between the Rebellion and the Empire because the Empire killed his family, and all his friends had left to join the Rebels. Luke wants to become a Jedi because Luke admires his father and wants to be like him, and because someone he respects (Obi-Wan) told him to.

But Rey seems to do things for no real reason. She joins the Resistance for no apparent reason. She personally goes to find Luke for no apparent reason. She's determined to become a Jedi, for no apparent reason. She doesn't strike me as the type of character who would want to become a Jedi out of simple curiosity, and she doesn't strike me as idealistic enough to risk her life for the Resistance, especially considering that the worst thing the First Order ever did to her was imprison her and interrogate her for a brief moment before she escaped.

If every random scavenger that escaped from a First Order prison decided to join the Resistance, then the Resistance should be overflowing with recruits.

I won't. Marvel Disney has crapped all over once great stories, dumbing them down and trading awesome characters for their version of "diversity", and eschewing quality story telling and characters for slapstick comedy.

Slack jawed suburban popcorn audiences are the target...and will sadly pay by the mounds to gobble it up. Again.

Anyone that understands what actually diversity is and has at least half a frontal lobe will skip it.
