Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Do you find big maps fun?

The developers have made a set of very large maps. I wanted to ask the community if they feel these big maps are fun.

I kinda like it when it's more concentrated and chaotic.

Big maps allow for more boring patrolling as Killer and more doing nothing but repair as Survivor.

I’m a pig main and I hate using gen slowing perks, so the Temple of Purgation basically means that I can’t stealth around or else I’ll lose map pressure. Even if I’m playing Billy I still hate it because it’s just a slog to get around. Survivor I hate for similar reasons, if a survivor gets hooked, chances are they’re miles away and I have to run the whole way. Even though the maps are big, sometimes gens seem to be in very tight clusters that make the map even more unfun because it wastes so much time with the big disconnect between gen to other object distance.

    I’m indifferent to it

    Not at all.

As survivor I feel like I lose a lot of my choice in the game. I can't just finish off that generator across the map, in case nobody else goes for the save, and it takes too long to run there. There's also the risk of larger open areas with no pallets or obstacles that can help me in a chase.

As a killer it takes far too long to get between gens, and clearing areas of pallets takes a long time. You become reliant on survivor mistakes far more than on a smaller map.

My favourite map is Gideon, and I enjoy that with both killer and survivor.

Hawkins on the other hand, is utter chaos. It's an authentic map and looks great, but it's ruddy huge.

Survivor: I'm walking and running for what feels like forever

Killer: Welp, there goes my map pressure. :/

Yeah it's not bad, just a bit on the large size.

But I don't like small maps either, medium is the way to go, killers have decent map pressure, survivors have decent map awareness.
