Halloween is your biggest EVENT in the game and you guys are the only game that doesn't have an event going on? Every year there has been an EVENT what kind of bullshit is this? Someone should be fired for whoever messed this up!

I understand your frustration, but at the end of the day they’re still gonna have the same release date. Maybe this will be a lesson for them, though. There’s no undoing their error this time.

Official word is the problems were due to problems with Engine Update.
Any news saying it's due to the power outage is just plain wrong, as per official press release. So these reliable sources aren't so reliable after all.

A lot of us thought the outage was a factor but apparently not. At most that would have set them back a day.
They stated that the reason for the delay was due to game errors that they deemed unacceptable. That would take more than a day to fix...

To clear up some confusion. The delay is from bugs and issues that were found from the PTB. As Peanits mentioned in other threads.
They did mention otherwise. And made it clear that from the PTB, they found issues with the the update which caused the delay. As they could not fix them in time.
You pretty much answered your own question. We ran the PTB, collecting info on some of the known issues (and found some new ones), and we're now trying to get those fixed. Fixing issues takes time, it's not always as simple as changing a few lines of code. Beyond that, you need to figure out what is causing the issue in the first place (the PTB helps narrow this down greatly).
Again, it's unfortunate, we don't like to be in this position either, but this is what the PTB is for. Had we released the update with those bugs still in the game, you'd have people asking why we bothered with the PTB if we weren't going to fix the bugs that were reported.

Nothing about the power outage had an effect. Other than perhaps slowing their fixing/progress on it? Unless, ofcourse.. They said otherwise. I've not seen the sources you are referring to. @December_1863 linked where they also said they found issues from the PTB. The outage didn't specifically cause issues or bugs to occur. (at least per what the dev's have said). And they didn't really say if it had much impact? But I could be mistaken, I don't know the source to know more about that aspect.

I've not seen ANY source for this claim. As far as the dev's have said, in the update link that was posted above and is at the top of the forums, there is no release date. They are trying to fix the bugs and get it out ASAP. But the duration of the event will remain the same.

Seems like it. That update post came what, friday? and from the sounds of it they were no closer to fixing the problems. They don't work on weekends and no way would they have gotten the issues fixed by today, which means no update tomorrow.
They're also doing a Q and A stream this week, so i doubt they'd drop the update later in the week either. I'd wish I'd be wrong, but.. its BHVR.

No one actually knows but i can't imagine them doing a Halloween event with pumpkins/Halloween items after Halloween.
That would be mind blowing. They have a stream scheduled for this week imagine if they go live and its after Halloween with no event...
They'd have to turn chat off people would be going insane.

They said they pushed back the Q and A stream because they are busy fixing the bugs, so they won't be doing the stream until after for sure. There's no real date on their next stream, as far as I am aware any more. It was supposed to be this week. But may not be if they cannot get the update out and the bugs fixed.
It's basically all just a waiting game. AFAIK

Nah they still have a live Q&A stream planned for this week. It was announced after the delay happened. So it'll either be out Tuesday/Wednesday or they'll stop to do the stream in the middle of the rush.

BHVR dropped the ball (again) but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy our trick r treating during Thanksgiving right?! Who doesn't love candy corn stuffed turkey!?!
At this point I'm not sure the event will even be a thing this year, I know many I play with along with myself aren't even going to bother with it anymore.

Listen, sometimes coding errors can be unpredictable and can come when you least expect them to.I get that you're mad and so am i and so is the rest of the community, but at the end i am glad they decided to delay a bug full event and patch to make into a bug free event and patch.

This attitude in this forum is just bullsh... And sorry if I am rude.
First of all instead of raging with a new post you could just scroll couple of seconds to find similar topic already discussed in a more respecful way.
Second is a waste of time, they are well aware that a delay of this kind will be negative for the game, so devs have the highest interest in releasing the update ASAP.
Last, I still think this is not such a big deal as half community is saying. We are talking about a company improving (with no extra costs for the users) his own product. Yes they had a deadline, something wasn't at the quality level expect so they delayed without causing any issue for the users. The extra stuff when ready will be released.
At the end of the day is always Halloween in dead by daylight, not big deal!

Well at least you're not in charge of things because you probably wouldn't know what you're doing let alone have any event at all.
Mistakes happen, halloween is on hold because of the ambition BHVR had on this mid chapter. It's just the harsh reality that time is always counting down and delay is inevitable when things aren't fitting perfectly into place.
Just play something else for the time being, I think the patch will release in a few more days.

the update is not coming tomorrow, because they still haven't announced it, so it is clearly coming November 5th. Technically not an official date but it could also be coming November 12th, but I kinda doubt it.
