How come Survivors haven't figure out how strong getting hit by an M1 is?
Just really baffling, Seeing survivors instead of dragging the killer half or the entire map depending on the map size with insurances like Dead hard they chose to waste that short sprint burst by staying the same tile they messed up in. Worst case scenario is the shack pallet so it would be a gigantic waste for the whole team.

You are describing potato survivors.

Further details are required.

OP didn't word it very well but he's basically talking about how strong the speed burst is from a hit and how many survivors will waste a lot of their burst not committing to a direction. That's why you'll notice good survivors be so greedy at pallets at full health - they control their speed burst and gain massive distance so much so they can be chased running directly in a straight line without a single window or pallet and still last a minute.
I'm glad more people don't realize how instantly strong the speed burst and running in a straight line is.
honestly I would wager a group that experimented playing the game against M1 killers without using a single pallet or window could still win if they all had room to run in a perfect line for a long time.

I love potato survivors. They are the best.

Completely agree. Health states in general and exhaustion perks are just too good at stalling killers. Lucky that not every map is the size of red forest.

I feel like my favourite survivors other ones that stop at every single pallet they come across.
Mainly because they take out the defence in that area in the early game so I basically just stop survivors will try to run around that place.
A lot of people forget that especially after getting hit have enough time to walk past the couple pallets to keep that area safe

So you're basically saying people who don't throw down pallets while healthy are potatoes? That's the smart thing to do though, you should never start throwing pallets down with 5 gens up when you're fully healthy, it makes no sense to.

I prefer baked.

I honestly thought this was a troll post saying that survivors should get let themselves get hit because sprint burst at first 🤦
Honestly though, with the amount of survivors I've watched Dead Hard into trees, I'm not at all surprised that this is the case. I think most of the time people are too caught up in the "oh crap, I got hit!" moment to think about making the most of the situation.

Pallets are worth throwing no matter what health state you're in or how many generators have been done if it's a choice between throwing the pallet or getting hit. The only time it's a waste is if the killer is too far away to get you anyway, or if you get hit and then throw the pallet.

No way man if you waste all the pallets in your first chase and no gens get done you've just killed your whole team, or you've just created a giant deadzone, you have to be strategic to which pallets are in the area and which ones you should use at the beginning, my pet peeve is people who get hit in the pallet and then still throw it instead of using the speed boost to get away , those are the worst survivors

Well yeah, as I said, if you throw a pallet and get hit anyway that's a waste. But I would still argue that it's better to use pallets than to go down and get hooked, because (a) the more you can prolong the chase without getting downed, the more time your teammates have to do generators (and if they don't get any done in the time it takes you to make good use of every pallet on the map, that's on them) and (b) if you don't get hooked, your teammates don't have to give up gen-doing time to come and save you.
Obviously, all this is provided that you use the pallets properly as I mentioned in my initial comment, and don't waste them by throwing them down too early or too late.

If bloodlust wasn't a thing I'd agree with the last part but if you're not using pallets you would at least need windows to keep things going long enough to survive , running in straight lines will get you clapped because the map sizes make it impossible to run straight for a solid minute or even 30 seconds , honestly you could probably with no speed boost run from one side to the other in about 15-20 seconds even in the largest map

Yeah my bad for not wording it right, I just kinda typed that quickly on a phone.
But that's pretty much it. I'm at that point my Survivor that I have a good understanding on what widens distances in chases and how much I could get away with the distance I have. Honestly I feel bad for M1 killers if they're against survivors who have this grasp and only thing I can have issues with is Spirit or Nurse.

The strategy behind pallets works only if the team is good or you play swf.
even at rank 1 solo you would throw down a pallet if that means not getting it.
the difference between good and bad survivors is how much efficiency you get out of pallets and how much you get out of loops.
The rule of pallets is never throw down 2 pallets one near another unless you need to cause you arr tunneled or dead on hook.

Unless you get hit as you throw down the pallet, there is no such a thing as wasted pallets. Maps feature just too many pallets, that you could ever realistically run out of them. Unless you have a team that is afraid to touch generators, of course. This is why brute-force killers such as Clown are so bad.

The bigger issue actually is lag.
This is where the killer home town advantage comes in. There are a lot of survivors out there who just have terrible connections to the killer. Walking into trees is a symptom of this.
Sometimes as well you just make a mistake. I make. Mistakes all the time and misjudge distance. So I try to vault of pallet but get hit instead (this is usually also a lag issue) sometimes I get hit after I press the vault key and I still end up doing the vault or dropping the pallet.
Lag is a real issue. Dedicated Servers helped alleviate it a bit for someone like me. But lag is a fact of life for me. 90% of my games are 180 ping or so.
