How do they even know there's an issue when the update literally just released. I tried to accept the first quest as soon as my game was done updating (because it was not grayed out at that time and I started right at 11ET it only took 10-15 minutes for the update, probably the same with many others) and it told me basically I couldn't do that at that time, only to go back and find it grayed out.

10 to 1 they delayed everything because of the Archives, but released the update without them because of Halloween and the potential community backlash.
I could be wrong; maybe they just really had to give instaheals extra nerfs and fix Hag before launching the update, but I'm fairly sure they realized they couldn't fix the Archives before Halloween and just released the update without them.

They probably spent the past few days programming an switch to turn off/on the archives so they could start the Halloween event, so that it didn't interfere.

They got the halloween event out for halloween like people wanted....half of yall even said "i dont want battle pass tied to my event" and now youre upset...the community is going to be the reason this game dies because bhvr is gonna quit bothering if everything they do isn't good enough

I think they tried to give us what a lot of people were asking for; a Halloween event in time Halloween.
They knew they couldn't finish everything but wanted to give us something before Halloween rolled around.
I don't work for BHVR tho, so IDK.

Not necessarily. If they thought they could fix everything before Halloween they probably would have tried.
I mean half the event basically doesn't happen without the Archives; it's just hooks, gens, and extra points.
They probably released it now because they didn't have any time left and didn't want to be too disappointing.
Well either that or they just do random things, but I personally prefer to believe the former.
