Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why are the plants not back?

No like for real though, those plants added another level of game play and did a really good job slowing the game down. And what now? They make the new survivor objective gens?! Well I hope every killer main enjoys getting gen rushed all game. The killer has to risk survivors wiggling free to get their points, and survivors just have to play the game normally? Like I don't know why you wouldn't do the same as last year, those plants were a great idea. Well guess if you want to get any serum you just gotta play survivor then, or have fun getting gen rushed.

The survivor have to risk getting 3-gen'd to get their points.

I wish the plants were back to at least make all those cool gross squishy sounds. I liked the atmosphere

i know but devs don't stand by their own decisions and change because the community is whining. and thats why we can't have any fun anymore in the game

That’s why this event is better than last years, its way better just sticking to gens and leaving

Too many Survivors got upset that they couldn’t gen rush.

people were being toxic as hell when it came to collecting serum, they would hate message you if you collected serum before them, purposely lead the killer to other survivors on plants, not do any gens until they got a full serum vial, and then once they got a full vial they would suicide on the hook.

in short a really good event ruined by toxic players and people who cared more about farming it rather than playing the game itself.

Yes, doing the exact same thing we've been doing for years and during non events is so much fun.

I understand the problems of last years event, but its an EVENT. Why are we doing the EXACT same thing as regular gameplay but with a different colored hook/gen?

As I understood it they were trying to use events to test new gameplay ideas. Clearly last years doesn't work but that's why you try something new. The game could really use it.

Honestly the plants aren't needed to slow the game down. All of the matches I have had so far the killers have been running Dying Light and Ruin.

I wish they were, now you get is Gen-rushed and Survivors body blocking the special hooks :/

    I hate events

Stuff like this should tell you there is a problem. If the only viable perks are ones that slow the game down.... maybe the game is going too fast now?

This kind of applies to DH/DS too since every survivor and their mother run it.

I really really wish they'd drop their mentality of fixing the game by introducing new perks and killers. If there is 5 or more problems then this idea INHERENTLY doesn't work, nor does it make playing any other weak killer fun or possible.

Yeah, but at the same time making the game slower by default wouldn't mean anything.

I'd love to think that if the devs made matches longer by default that all of the killer players would switch off Ruin and the like but the thing is, most of them won't.

Why swap out Ruin for a slow match when you can keep it for a super slow match?

Well obviously if the objectives change then so too will many of the perks in game.

I think this is a HUGE reason they won't change gens, because that would mean having to change countless perks/addons/killer power interactions. The far easier and more short-term profitable option is to just ignore the issue and keep adding band-aid fixes in the form of perks/killers.

Can you even name 5 people who enjoy sitting and holding m1?

cause people complained about them, since no one did gens and all just milked these plants and then died shortly after, so it was basically impossible to get a normal game going.

"The killer has to risk survivors wiggling free to get their points, and survivors just have to play the game normally?"

Bring iron grasp and you basically play like normal anyway. Using generators is the same level of risk for survivors. For example, if there is only 1 event generator and 2 regular generators left in a game which gen do you think the killer is going to patrol more heavily? Also, killers have a higher event BP potential than survivors anyway. If every player in a game brings an offering there will be 7 event hooks and 7 event generators. Obviously survivors can only complete 5 generators, but there is nothing stopping the killer from getting all 7 hooks.
