Rift/archive makes Solo survivor worse
Multiple games today where people played “terribly,” because of the challenge. Like it was very clear they were on an unhook challenge and followed the killer chasing an injured survivor then did a Borrowed time save right in front for the “safe unhook.”
Or they DC because they won’t get their “save 2 in one trial,” etc
And I’m talking rank 4, the others were also Red rank so it isn’t only new players doing this.

Some challenges are just impossible to finish as a solo survivor. Like you HAVE to play swf and tell everyone not to open any chest so you can open 4 in one match. It's just terrible designed.

I feel the same way. I have played 3 matches as survivor today and gens simply don't feel like they are getting done due to people more focused on certain challenges. Solo is going to be a lot more frustrating than it ever was

Yikes, that sounds terrible. Also sounds like I'll have to deal with survivors constantly swarming me as I'm carrying someone to a hook.

They need to remove unhook challanges.
The amount of BT hook farming going on right now is just killing the game for me.
I played 10 games and still can't get 2 unhooks because other players rush in and unhook their teammates under the killer's nose.

YES!!!! The almighty devs are forcing us to play unfair!!! They want us to be scummy!!!! They want us to implement tactics that no one enjoys, Killers don't enjoy slugging for the 4 man and Survivors hate being slugged and now they want us to waste 2 MINUTES for someone to die by the EGC.

I think the challenges are a poorly thought out mechanic meant to justify a Fortnite-style battle pass with the incentive of getting even more money out of players.

I was afraid this would happen. Just had a game that was a total debacle probably because of challenges. People were racing each other for unhooks right in front of the killer. Think at least 2 people were Bills so they could use Borrowed. Who could have seen this coming?

In the PTB it was on tome level 3 iirc, haven't checked if they changed it. But that's just one example, there were more stupid challenges which required to play 4 men swf.

Maybe it will lessen as some people move past the early ranks. But this is why I always enjoyed the fact that daily rituals are random and different for everyone

Yea lets just all have braindead "Use this perk" "do this many gens" "escape as this person" challenges. That'll sure be fun and not at all the exact stuff you do day in, day out.

Just ask nice in chat for the chests, I'm sure there'll be people who will let it happen. RNG though.
These challenges I find really wreck the game if you're just playing normally, but it's not like they're impossible. Still annoying though. Me I just feel pressured that I have to do it all because the rift closes in two months.

So nothing should actually be a challenge? Just braindead stuff basically then?
Ask politely in chat, you'll eventually get some players that let you, ask them to bring coins, it isn't hard.

That isn’t a gameplay challenge, it’s a “bargaining with your teammates challenge.”

Even without the challenge, when I tend to play a certain style, like Self unhooking build (BT, Deliverance, Breakdown) or Healing build (BT, WGLF, Empathy, Botany) or Gen rush build (No mither, Not gonna happen, Resilience + toolbox)...everything goes different than I planned.
Survivors need to do things based on situation, not by order.

Yeah, it's even worse because killers are camping to make sure survivors aren't unhooking, and people are literally rushing to hooks so I can't get any unhooks. Been on this for 4 games where normally 2 unhooks it would take 1 or 2. I don't think BHVR realizes that when players are given a certain thing to do, and the opposing side knows about it, they do everything in their power to prevent that.

A few of my games were like that but most of the time I was helping and getting helped although I am rank 10. A lot of people were playing the game normally. As killer, survivors would bring at least 2 toolboxes.
I personally like the challenges. I'm having a lot of fun as solo. The "disturb 25 crows" was funny to me but I did that when the gens were down to 2 so I wouldn't disrupt anyone hiding or get caught early on.
I am nearly done. Like 6 more for survivor and 4 for killer. It's different and I don't have to worry about needing to "win" all the time. Imo. It sucks others are getting hook rushers etc.

Pretty certain this is influenced by the fact that so far we are literally only seeing lvl 1 out of 4 levels of challenges - im assuming the future sets are going to be increasingly more difficult, as that was how it was officially announced
