How close can the killer spawn to you?

I've had multiple matches as killer where I turn around, walk for like 3 seconds, then suddenly hear chase music. I know it was possible to rarely spawn within a 3 meter radius of the killer, but this still feels a little close. Hell one time I turned around and all 4 survivors were like 20 meters away, and in my line of sight.

    Well, I don't know for certain. It's possible that the survivors spawned further away from you, but inadvertently moved closer to you while they were looking for a generator.

    Killer can spawn one tile away from you.

    I've had a killer spawn directly beside me, and even worse I once spawned directly right in his view from the rotating view at the start of the game. Yeah, those games did not go well.

    Had a Huntress on top of me within 5 seconds of spawning

    I've had a game where I took one step forward and a Legion was sprinting toward me. The one time I've legit been jumpscared by this game.

    I have spawned directly in line of sight to the killer before. I have never spawned right beside the killer though. It’s happened to people before though.

    I spawned right next to a Kate. Lol so I don't think the distance is that far.
